Stronger

Cara let out a frustrated groan as she delivered the final blow to the hundredth imp she had encountered. Although her team had gained 500 points, it was not enough to satisfy her. She couldn't help but feel envious of Jared's prowess, and she was determined to reach his level.

Realizing that her current method of killing imps was no longer efficient, she decided to hunt for stronger demons instead. She recalled that defeating the Pit Fiend had given her 100 exp and 100 points, a significant increase from the imps. With this in mind, she sprinted forward with a renewed goal in her heart, determined to become stronger and surpass Jared's achievements.

Cara's frustration grew as she ran for 30 minutes without encountering any powerful demons. She was on the verge of giving up when she had a sudden idea.

"Hey, Fear!" she yelled out at the top of her lungs, hoping the goddess could hear her. "Would your viewers be interested in seeing me take on not one, but two Pit Fiends by myself?"

Fear Herself's voice echoed in Cara's mind. "Jared accomplished that when he was five levels lower than you," she giggled. "How about I send you three?"

Cara took a deep breath, her determination to become stronger renewed. "Send as many as you want," she replied confidently.

Fear Herself chuckled before saying, "Very well, Cara. Your wish is my command." Suddenly, the ground shook beneath her feet as three massive figures emerged from the shadows. Cara's heart raced as she gazed up at the towering demons before her. They were twice the size of the Pit Fiend she had defeated before, with massive horns, razor-sharp claws, and a fiery aura that made her feel as though she was standing before a volcano.

Without hesitation, Cara charged forward, her sword held tightly in her hand. The demons roared, their voices shaking the very air around her. Cara felt a surge of adrenaline as she raised her blade and swung it with all her might, but it barely left a scratch on their thick hides.

Determined not to give up, Cara switched her strategy. She leaped back, avoiding a swipe from one of the demons' claws. She activated her aspect, targeting Katie’s . After today’s fight, Katie had gained the ability to create and control fire with her aspect, but Cara knew that demons were probably immune to fire. Instead, she focused on her Earth magic, sending rocky spikes into each of the demons, completely draining her mana.

Quickly switching to her aspect, Cara charged forward once more. She leaped onto the back of one of the demons and plunged her sword deep into its neck, twisting the blade to ensure it was dead. With a fierce battle cry, she moved on to the next demon, dodging its attacks with acrobatic skill before driving her sword through its heart. The last demon met the same fate, falling to Cara's blade as she emerged victorious from the battle.

She had managed to defeat three demons all by herself, something she never thought was possible before. As she looked around at the carnage she had caused, Cara realized that her newfound strength came with a price. She had used up all her mana in the battle, and her body felt weak and drained. She stumbled forward, catching herself before she fell to the ground. Most people would probably call it a day after being laid out on the ground and short of breath, but not Cara. She pushed herself up and stood tall. "Is that all you got?" she challenged, her voice ringing out.

Fear's laughter died down as she sobered up, "I may be a little crazy, but even I can tell that you can't handle any more Pit Fiends. The sponsors would have a fit if you died," she paused, before bursting into another fit of giggles, "Plus, I can't show favoritism. You know how it is."

Cara's expression darkened, "I don't care about the sponsors or the rules. I'm here to be the best, and I won't stop until I get there," she declared, her voice resolute.

Fear regarded her with a mixture of amusement and respect. "Very well, Cara. I like your spirit. But for now, I think it's time for you to rest and recover. You've certainly earned it,"

Cara, as she headed home, got a new notification from her system, then below it, Cara clicked Y and a message popped up.

“Hey Cara,” The message read, “Me and the boys got together to level the playing field a little bit. Kick that psycho into next year”

Cara smirked, with this bonus she could take on even stronger demons. She still had a while to go before she was on Jared’s level, but she was making progress. As she headed back to the base, Cara spotted Jordan and Cato on night watch duty. She lifted her arm in a feeble wave, her body still weary from the fight. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath. It had been a grueling day, but Cara was content. She had pushed herself to the limit and had emerged victorious.

Cato and Jordan quickly rushed over to Cara when she collapsed on the ground. Jordan bent down to offer his support, "Are you alright, Cara?" he asked with concern etched on his face.

Cara tried to nod but felt too exhausted to do so. "I'm fine," she managed to reply, "Just tired from training."

Cato couldn't believe his ears. "What did you do, take on a Pit Fiend by yourself?" he scoffed, trying to lighten the mood.

Cara's smirk showed that he wasn't far from the truth. "Three actually," she replied, proud of her accomplishment.

Cato shook his head in disbelief, but couldn't help but laugh slightly. "You're crazy, Cara," he said with amusement.

Feeling drained, Cara leaned heavily against Jordan and closed her eyes. "I'd like to sleep now," she murmured, as exhaustion finally overtook her, and she drifted off into a deep slumber.

Cato and Jordan exchanged a concerned look as Cara drifted off to sleep against Jordan's shoulder. They could see the exhaustion etched into her face and the sweat still clinging to her clothes. They gently helped her up and started to guide her to her room.

"Did she really take on three Pit Fiends?" Jordan asked in disbelief.

Cato nodded, "Apparently so. And she won, too."

Jordan shook his head, "I don't know how she does it. She's like a machine."

Cato chuckled, "Yeah, a machine that needs to rest. Let's get her to bed."

They carefully tucked her into her bed, making sure she was comfortable before quietly leaving the room. As they walked down the hallway, Jordan turned to Cato.

"Do you think she'll ever be as strong as Jared?" he asked.

Cato shrugged, "Who knows? But I do know one thing. She's going to keep pushing herself until she either dies or gets there."
