10 days passed in the blink of an eye. Mornings were spent training Josh and Dave’s bodies while afternoons were spent in weapons training. Dave focused on using both the Lasgun and the Lasgun with bayonet. Josh focused on his aim and steading his body. Both Josh and Dave would do physical training in their armor so they could get used to it. Everyday Josh would work until he was exhausted. Dave was far more physically fit than Josh so he had an easier time.
On the morning of the 10th day
“It’s time Dave.” I say as I step out of my room. Dave quickly follows.
“Correct ‘Josh’.” Dave responds.
A beam of light shoots out from the orb of light. ‘Please enter the light in 30 seconds.’ The mechanical voice of the orb rings. Both Dave and I step into the light. ‘Entering mission world. Mission Parameters: Extermination. Scenario: Zombie Apocalypse. Difficulty: 7 man. Side Mission: Introduction.’
‘I guess the first mission I was a part of was a survival mission or something. It was also a 7 man mission. I wonder if that’s the easiest.’ My thoughts were cut short as everything went black.
When I awaken I find myself on an asphalt road. Everything is eerily silent, like the first time I woke up. I stand up and see that Dave is already awake. ‘It must be his superior stats. Well that’s a question for later.’ I look down at my watch and click the Mission menu.

Introduction- Inform the new people of the situation. 100p
After looking at my watch I look at the ground. I see 6 people laying on the ground. ‘Looks like Dave doesn’t count towards the mission total. Good to know.’ I look closer at the people on the ground. I see a young man in a suit, a middle aged man wearing camo pants and a t-shirt, a lady in office attire, a teenage girl in jeans and a t-shirt, a teenage boy in a sweatshirt and sweatpants, and young woman in gym attire.
‘Last time I survived because of luck and Bill. This time I’m more prepared but even being prepared I might die to the zombies if they come in a horde. I wonder which of these people will survive.’ As I’m thinking the man in camo pants starts to stand up. “Where am I?” He asks with his back turned to me.
“I’ll tell you but you’ll have to wait for the other people to wake up. I don’t want to explain it multiple times.” I answer him. He quickly turns around to face Dave and I.
“Who are you and what are you wearing?” He asks with confusion on his face.
“My names Joshua and this is Dave. As for what I’m wearing, well it’s Flak Armor.” I respond. ‘I’m surprised he can remain calm in a situation like this. Maybe he’s military.’ Currently both Dave and I were wearing our Flak Armor. We had our backpacks on along with our ammo belts. Dave had his bayonet on his Lasgun and both of us had our Lasguns in our hands.
“That looks more like cosplay armor than actual armor. What are those guns you’re holding. They don’t look like any gun I’ve ever seen.” He asks with knit eyebrows.
“I’ll tell you once everyone has woken up.” As I say that all of the other people start to wake up. “Speak of the Devil.”
Before anyone can start asking questions or freak out I start to speak. “Hello everyone, my name is Joshua. You all should have a black watch on your wrist please click on the mission menu.” I say as I lift my wrist and show them my watch. “You guys have been brought here to fulfill the mission described by your watch.” As I say this the lady in Office attire and camo pants man both try to say something. “Please keep your questions till the end. As I was saying you’ve been brought here to fulfill the mission after you fulfill the mission you will be transported to a white room where you will be able to spend your points that you get for completing the mission. One of the many things you can buy is the Lasgun I have in my hands or the Flak Armor I’m wearing.” After I say this the mechanical voice sounds in my head. ‘Side Mission: Introduction complete. 100p awarded.’
‘Good. It worked.’
“This is Preposterous.” The office lady says. “Do you really expect us to believe this blatant lie.” She continues.
“You don’t need to believe me.” I say. “You’ll find out soon enough.” As I say that ambient noise rushes in to greet my ears. ‘Mission start.’ The mechanical voice decrees.
“Last time I barely survived if you guys want to survive find somewhere safe to hide. “ I say this and turn around. I start walking down the road. “Of course you’re free to come with me, especially you Camo man.” I say over my shoulder.
