“What was that?” Bill asks.
“You heard it too?” I ask back.
“Yeah.” Bill responds.
“Interesting, well I don’t know what it was but what interests me more is what it said.” I say to Bill.
“Yeah, I wonder what it meant?” Bill says while placing a hand on his chin.
“FINALLY! WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU YOU’LL WISH YOU WERE DEAD YOU BASTARD!” I look over to see Mr.Stereotype run off while yelling at the top of his lungs.
“Should we go after him?” I ask Bill. ‘I really don’t want to go after him, but I have to at least appear to care.’
“No, if he wants to get lost let him. Shows him right for disrespecting me.” Bills says, with a grin.
‘Looks like me and Bill are on the same page.’ “Ok.” I respond. As Bill and I are talking the thin dude casually walks away in the opposite direction from Mr.Stereotype.
“So, back to what we were talking about before, what do you think the voice meant by ‘Mission start’?” I ask Bill.
“I don’t know, but I think we should really worry about how to get out of here. Where ever ‘here’ is.” Bill answers. As Bill is talking the 3 woman on the floor get up and run off.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
“You’re probably right, so which direction should we go. Right or Left?” I say while pointing between the 2 directions.
“We don’t really have any information to go off of so we might as well just pick at random.” Bill says then starts walking the way the thin dude walked, which is the left.
‘Well I don’t really want to go off on my own so I might as well follow him.’ I quickly start walking and catch up to Bill. We walk in silence for a couple minutes until Bill asks, ”So, Josh, where are you from?”
“Hmm. Oh, I’m from New Mexico and you?” I respond.
“I’m from Illinois, specifically I’m from Chicago.” He answers back. After that we walked another couple minutes in silence.
“You really aren’t a talkative one are you kid?” Bill says a little annoyance in his voice.
“Sorry I’m a bit awkward. I don’t really talk to people much.” I say while I rub the back of my neck, more than a tinge of red on my face.
“It’s fine.” Bill sighs and we go back to walking.
“Hey Bi
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
A scream rings out cutting me off. “What was that?” Bill asks as he turns towards where he heard the scream.
“I don’t know, do you think we should check it out?” I ask. ‘I hope he doesn’t want to check it out. That’s just asking for trouble.’
“Let’s go and see what happened.” With that Bill starts to run towards the source of the scream.
“BIll. Jeez, WAIT UP.” I say as I run after him. It only takes me a minute to catch up to him. I almost run into him because he stopped abruptly. “Bill why did you…” I stop as I see what lays on the floor in front of us. Blood runs through the grates on the floor exiting from a mass of flesh, organs, and bones. What used to be the chest was a hole, expelling blood like a dam that had burst. What once was an organised and efficient system of organs, blood vessels, and nerves was now a thick bloody pulp. I could still see the expression of pure horror on his pale face, now colored only by bits of viscera and blood.
“Oh God.” I fell on my knees letting go of what remained in my stomach after a night of rest. Bill just continued to look at the corpse, not moving a muscle. After awhile nothing comes out and I just stare at the ground, until a hand appears in my vision. I look up to see Bill standing in front of me, hand offered, and back to the ‘mess’.
“Come on kid, get up, we need to go before whatever did that comes back.” He says in a soft but firm voice.
“Ok.” I respond quietly. I take his hand and get up. I stand there for a second staring blankly at the floor.
“Let’s go.” Bill says then puts his hand around my shoulder and leads me away from the ‘mess’.
