Ch.1

I awaken to the sound of silence. That might sound strange to some people, but I have always had a hard time sleeping if there isn’t any ambient noise. What greets my eyes isn’t the familiar sight of my dorm but a steel wall, the next thing I notice is how uncomfortable the thing I’m laying down on is. As I slowly get up, rubbing my eyes in the hope that they will stop hurting, I look around. What I thought was a wall was actually steel containers stacked on top of each other. The stack reached to the top of the ceiling, which was around 25 ft tall and made of steel grates. Lights were periodically placed on the ceiling but I can only see two so that might not be the case. “Uhhhhhhhh.”

I looked down as I hear a groan escape someone’s lips Only then do I notice the six other people laying on the floor, which was made of the same grates as the ceiling. ‘Huh, so that’s why I was so uncomfortable.’ The person who groaned was slowly rising from the ground, as they turn to look at me I see it is a middle aged man with short grey hair and a suit. He looks confused for a couple seconds then asks me,” Who the hell are you?”

“My names Joshua but you can call me Josh,” I answer back.

“Well, Josh, what the hell is going on?” asks the middle aged man.

“I don’t know, I only woke up a little while before you so I’m just as clueless as everybody else.” I answer back. ‘Jeez, he’s a little rude. He didn’t even give me his name after demanding mine.’

“Everybody else?” Only then does he realize we aren’t the only two people in the room.

“By the way, you haven’t given me your name yet.” I say.

“Oh right, I forgot to tell you my name. I’m Bill.” Bill says then holds out his hand.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

I grab his hand and we shake. ‘Remember Josh, firm not weak. Weak hand shakes leave bad impressions.’

“Sorry about being rude just now,” Bill says. “You can probably understand why I’m a bit on edge.”

I nod. “It’s fine.”

As we finish speaking the others start to wake up. ‘Two more men and three women. Interesting, I wonder why a kidnapper would leave us all in the same room without being restrained. Unless we haven’t been kidnapped and this is something else entirely, but what else.’

“What’s going on?” One of the two other men ask. This man is fairly tall with a muscular body, chiseled jaw, short blonde hair, and blue eyes. ‘Jesus he is like a walking stereotype.’ The other man is almost as tall as the first one but is a lot leaner he has brown hair that comes down around his eyes, his features are obscured by his hair. ‘I’ve never been good at reading people but if I had to guess he’s probably a loner.’

“We don’t know what’s going on.” Bill says.

‘I’ll let Bill handle this he seems like the leader type and I’m not necessarily the most charismatic of people.’

“Bullshit, if you didn’t know anything then what were you two just talking about!” Mr.Walking Stereotype yells. ‘Wow, not even a minute and everything has gone downhill.’

“I said we don’t know anything punk. You should show more respect to your elders.” Bill responds with a raised voice.

“What did you just call me old man? You know what Fuck this I’m leaving!” Mr.Stereotype starts to walk away but doesn’t get far as he hits something and is knocked down. “WHO DID THAT?” he yells from his position on the ground. “NO ONE MAKES A FOOL OF ME!” Immediately he gets up and tries get past again but is knocked down again.

“What do you think is stopping him from getting away?” I turn to Bill and ask.

“I don’t know but whatever it is I’m glad it’s there.”Bill says not bothering to hide the grin on his face and amusement in his voice.

All of the noise caused by Mr.Stereotype caused the women who were still on the ground to wake up. All three of them looked around in a daze then screamed.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.”

‘My ears.’

“Jesus Christ stop screaming!” Bill shouts but that only seems to make it worse.

‘Mission start.’ A mechanical voice sounds in my head and by the looks on everyone else's faces theirs too.
