Prologue: This is the story of a person who is reincarnated as a person in the shining world! With his spotty knowledge from the first series and the occasional bit of media he saw he must survive in this cruel and unforgiving world of shinobi.
The hell! I screamed in mock offense as a man draped in cloud white clothes explained to me the circumstances of my death.
“Let it all out it’s better than bottling up your emotions” the being said with a genial smile covering his strangely Bob Ross like face of all people.
“It's just that, to think that I got killed by my own dog,” I said, shaking my head with disappointment. “I expected something else not to suffocate by my own dog, Princess.”
“Most would never expect how they die and I know you are worried about the people in your past life but it’s fine your roommate would arrive at your apartment to see you the next day your Friends and family would grieve they'll still hold your memory dear but they’ll over it and Princess would get adopted by your roommate living her years in contentedness.” Said the Bob Ross copycat with the same soothing cadence and tone as the original.
“That's nice to hear but why am I here? Will I go to the afterlife or heaven?” I admitted a hint of trepidation in my voice.
“It's nothing like that but you will be reincarnated like you have been since your soul has come to being and I am here to ask you what you want in your next life” announced the being leaving me with a bombshell
“Next life? How would that even work? And what are the questions?” I wondered my thoughts trailing off to the few transmigrated novels I've read in my time.
“Here this might help,” said the being, flicking his hand before an orange window appeared in my vision.
“Karma… Is this what I think it is?” I chortled my voice in disbelief.
“Yes it is, this is the accumulation of your past lives that hasn't been spent by them as well as what you have accumulated.” The being said, nodding to himself. “And the purpose of this meeting is to talk about how you will spend it in your next life .” stated the being his ethereal clothes shifting and swirling.
“My next life? Are you some kind of Hades or God of the afterlife?.” I questioned
“No no nothing like that I am just manager” the being laughed his clothes shook with him moving unnaturally. “But yes, your next life you have three choices: one is to get reincarnated back to your world, second is to reincarnate in an alien world and last is to be reincarnated in your world's stories.”
The first one is clearly of the table why would I pick it if I could go to a world with magic and the second is also out I would know what to expect but would I even remember all this? Never mind I can ask him later. The third is clearly the best answer. I contemplated my choices finally deciding on the last option
“I... I would prefer it to be one I know so the different one is dismissed and my original is great and all but it's too mundane for me. I've always dreamed of flying in the air or blasting off magic in my hands so one of the storied worlds it is.” I pronounced with determination.
“Now for the nitty gritty of the work do you prefer to choose a world or have it randomly generated? If you pick the first option it will cost 100 Karma but if you pick the latter then it's 10 Karma,” he said, presenting the two options as buttons in my field of vision.
“Why such a contrast in price?” I asked my hand on my chin
“It's simple finding a particular world is much more complicated and requires more Karma than just chucking you in a random one.” the being said with a calm smile.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
“I see but I have to ask, would I even be able to remember all this?” I asked uncertainly fearing what might be the answer
“That’s understandable but with your Karma you can keep your memories for the price of 1000 Karma. Transporting a soul is hard enough already but having to make sure it doesn’t degrade so all its memories and core personality stays together is very difficult.” Shrugged the being in a nonchalant manner.
“A thousand that’s a lot, is there a way to reduce that price?” I asked hoping to get an answer
“Nope it’s a thousand.”
“That’s fine but for the world is okay if you just narrowed the possible world I would enter to one’s with some kind of magic system and would that reduce the change in the price.” I asked my hand, still not leaving my chin.
A moment pass before the being opened his mouth. “That’s doable the price would be 35 Karma this time and once you picked you can’t change worlds.”
Another screen appeared this time with an option for 35 Karma. “Fine by me” after those words a wave of vertigo came over me and I blacked out.
“Wakey wakey little butterfly we’re here in your new world that you might know as the Shinobi/Naruto world.” Waved the being.
It took me a while for me to get to my senses before I registered what I said. “Naruto!!” I exclaimed.
That’s fine I know Naruto and Sasuke were able to save the shinobi world from the infinite tsukuyomi but I haven’t been keeping up with Boruto but with Naruto nothing should go wrong. I tried to console myself by listing off reasons why its great but deep down I know it’s terrible. Children as young as seven years olds sent as child soldiers, creepy old men who’d brainwash you, snake scientists wanting to possess you, the multiple wars.
It was after a few minutes before the being in front of me interrupted my train of thought with a cough. “Now let’s talk about the rest of your Karma points. You only have 381 Karma points left after the world change and memory preservation.”
We talked about my choices for hours trying to pick for myself the best build to survive in the chaotic world I am in and after that we converse about my birth.
“So the time of birth is random and where I’ll be born.” I asked, confirming what I heard.
“Yes, but the time period would be around the beginning of the story with some deviation. Place of birth would be influenced by your perks, for example if you chose something distinctive like the sharingan then your lineage would need to have some connection to Asura.” Explained the being
I nodded taking that in before looking at the perks that I’ve chosen.
Perks:
Jonin Level Chakra Pool: 150 Karma
Inferior Hidan’s Immortality: 200 Karma
Chakra Control Basic: 20 Karma
If it wasn’t for the absurd price of the Inferior Hidan’s Immortality I could’ve chosen to get the chakra capacity of a half Senju but the safety net of this is to important who knows what I might encounter out there I just need to make sure I don’t catch the attention of the snake sannin.
I’ll just have to increase my chakra pool the old fashioned way and even if I don't train my chakra pool will naturally grow to the size of a jonin like Genma. With Inferior Hidan’s Immortality I’d be like a heavily watered down version of Deadpool who's still killable and the basic chakra control is just to not waste the remaining Karma.
I wasn’t able to get any answers to the many unanswered mysteries of the Shinobi World. The only excuse he gave was that life is full of mysteries or something cliche along that line.
Doing a last analysis I nodded my head and opened my mouth. “It’s time for me to go now.” After those words left me out I blacked out.
In the place out of time and space the being held a fifty sided dice and threw. It clacked on ground rolling until it landed on the number fifteen.

Inside a village in the land of Hot Waters
A baby with naturally gray hair wailed letting its lungs out for the world to hear.
“Yumiko, your baby’s here! and he has your hair.” Pronounced the midwife who held the newborn in her hands.
“Congratulations dear I knew you could do it.” Cheered the man with a Yugakure headband on his forehead.
“Let me see my baby.” Yumiko said, weakly reaching for the baby.
Quickly handing over the child. The midwife cleansed the bodily fluids from the bed with quick execution of water Jutsu.
Holding the child in her hands Yumiko eyed her child with affection watching his rhythmic heartbeats through her clothes.
Beside her, the man from earlier had tears gushing from his eyes. A smile reaching up to his eyes. “Yumiko, have you picked what name he should get? I still think he should named Shitai”
Gazing at her child Yumiko decided on a name Tadao. “Tadao would be his name.” before her expression switched to one of fury. “What the hell are you thinking of naming our son Shitai!!! Haven't you thought of what others would think? Next, you're gonna tell me we should name our next child Heretic Zealot.” Screeched Yumiko in a still somehow quiet tone.
Suitably chastised, the man drooped his head in resignation. “Well I think it was a nice name.” whispered under his.
“What did you say!”
“Ahh! I forgot I had a Meeting with Captain.” said the man before scurrying away.
Watching this all unfold on the sideline was Baomu the nursemaid. “Dear calm down, you shouldn't mind him, you know as well as I do that Kenji-kun’s sense of humor is atrocious.”
Huffing Yumiko nodded at Baomu. “You're right Baomu-sama.”
Continuing on, Baomu Instructed Yumiko on what to do and inquired if they had everything they needed. An hour passed before Baomu prepared to leave. Sealing her tools in a scroll she spoke. “I’ll check back on you and Tadao in a few days.” before waving.
