Academy (6) Finale

Academy (6) Finale

I've currently been spending my time in my super secret hideout experimenting.

Like right now inside I could be seen fiddling with a large stick on the table engraving fuinjutsu seals on top. If you knew how to translate or at least understand fuinjutsu you'd be able to tell that most of the seals carved on the stick are related to space and space and that's not a coincidence.

I carefully moved my hand to create precise strokes on the stick completing the last of the seals necessary. Sighing in relief I let the ink dry as I moved my hand to ease the tension that had come over it after a long session of Fuinjutsu.

The basic idea I am going for here is a magic item in dnd if you want an example am trying to create a spell scroll with a precast spell in DnD that can hold an already cast jutsu and store it for future use.

This was an ongoing project that I've been working on for a month now. The problem I am facing though is the transference of chakra or specifically the retention of chakra through the medium. It didn't take long to figure out how to store a jutsu I managed in the first few days however when I did it the pre-prepared jutsu was always a pale imitation not even having one-twentieth of the original jutsus power and so that's what I've been working down on.

If only I knew how the hundred healing or the jutsu Jiraiya used on Itachi’s Amaterasu then I might be able to perfect the fuinjutsu.

Sensing the ink had finally dryer I held the staff on one hand and free hand moving in a one-hand seal of the Water Gun jutsu.

A jet of water spurt out of my hand with the force of a baseball on a home run before getting absorbed by the suddenly illuminated stick like water meeting a sponge.

Feeling the chakra in the staff with his chakra sense. Tadao took notes in a little azure notebook scribbling down the rough percentage assimilated by the experimental seals

Now for the last phase.

Raising the stick I pointed at a dart board across the room. Activating the seal on the stick it stirred with chakra concentrating at a point before unleashing a similar but weaker copy of the just performed.

Eyeballing the impact I estimated the strength of the experimental ninja tool before writing down the estimated strength on his notebook.

Sighing Tadao looked at the stick in his hand before placing it back on the workbench.

It's At least competitively viable although it could only exhibit a sixth of the original’s power. This could be remedied by supercharging with pre-prepared jutsu however this still doesn't remedy the core issue of power loss when transferring the jutsu to a medium.

Perhaps if I find a way to fuel the jutsu while using a ninja tool then I would be able to create a jutsu far more powerful than the original.

However, doing so is much easier said than done. Just the process of creating seals stable enough to contain a jutsu without exploding is already tricky but having to make one where I can modify the prepared jutsu is magnitudes more problematic

Letting out a deep sign I tabled the thought for later and continued experimenting with the new fuinjutsu formula attempting to perfect it although it wasn't the great breakthrough he wanted progress is still progress.

Improving some designs while disregarding others I continued until I was interrupted by the ear-wrenching sound of an imitation of the default alarm of an iPhone.

Stretching his arm out Tadao shut down the infuriating yet effective alarm.

Looking over at the clock he saw the hands of it produce the o’clock of 6. Suitably enlightened Tadao sealed his goodies into storage seals on the walls that were cleverly camouflaged with the natural earth wall.

Not before leaving a few failed prototypes of a different project. People would look less if they think they've found what I've been hiding.

With all that finished it should be time for me to go back. I wouldn't bore you with the details but all you need to know is that I climbed on Tsutaka’s back to reach the village.

Arriving in the village I could see the glow of the lamp lights from the different cascade of colors ranging from red to purple to blue littered the town and festive cheer enveloped the village people could be seen out in the streets celebrating the nearing of the new year.

Back home I could see Mom and Dad conversing, hearing the kaw of Tsutaka they noticed me on his back. They welcomed me home and we ate our meals as usual, the only difference being the size and variety.

When the time felt right I retrieved three objects from my braces. First was the book The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi by Jiraya, a jar of sweet honey and the last was a very resilient cactus from the land of wind.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

If you have a problem with my gift then all I can say I was never good at giving gifts but at least I tried.

With the backlight light of the stars, spattered with brilliance and sparks of fireworks painting it a kaleidoscope of colors.

They held my gifts in surprise. I think if not then there were some very good actors. “How long have you planned this?” asked my mom, pride written all over her eyes. “I hadn't been able to find any honey over the last week.”

Scratching the back of my head I gave a sheepish grin. “Ohh that was me I have more honey in the back of the house.”

Stunned, my mom looked at me with a chiding state but before she could say anything a boisterous laugh came from her side. “That's my boy! disrupting the trade of honey single-handedly that explosive tag cash really is a lot ay”

~Minor Time Skip~

March 14, XXXX

A little over ten months have passed since I started the Academy. During that time I've improved considerably, the me from all that time wouldn't even be able to hold a candle against me now with all the new skills I've learned.

In the academy, the students from my year filled the field forming knit and straight lines showing discipline and on the sidelines, the cheer of parents and relatives could be heard congratulating their little ones on a great year.

Stepping into the limelight the principal whose name I didn't bother to remember stepped out congratulating all of us and gave a wholehearted speech and how proud of us he is. The usual.

With all the pleasantries done with its time for the main event, the announcement of the people who will graduate from the Academy and get promoted to genin.

And of course, this handsome devil of a shinobi will graduate early and become a genin before most in my grade with some exceptions.

And my thoughts wondered about the ridiculousness of the Konoha 12. You're telling me the illustrious heirs of the strongest clans of Konoha graduated at the same time, the same age as someone who failed the Academy thrice?! If that doesn't scream plot hole then I don't know what is. I wonder if there's a deeper meaning to that situation perhaps the clan heads wanted their heirs to form bonds with the nine-tails jinchuriki?

I was snapped out of my ruminations when the principal called out my name. “And let's not forget our fuinjutsu prodigy, let's give it to Tadao Ikichi.” proclaimed the principal to which a round of applause responded.

Walking towards the podium I waved at everyone like taught in conduct class and gave a wide grin letting them gleam in the morning light.

“I, Yasuo Sato, hereby promote you, Tadao Ikichi to the rank of genin. May your career be as deep as the greatest of canyons and steaming as our village's hot springs.”

And with that, he handed me a blue headband with the Tugasakure symbol of Yugasakure of three horizontal squiggle lines for what I assume to represent steam.

I waited at my place near the others who graduated from the Academy most of them being a year or two older than me.

I didn't feel like I graduated early. Most kids here graduated from the Academy when they turned nine so being just two years advanced doesn't seem as impressive as it was shown in the anime.

Not a few minutes later the others from my grade came with the excitement in their eyes of an early graduation.

We talked about what we were planning to do after graduation and what team we might be lumped into.

We talked about the plans we had after graduation while also discussing the possible teams we might get lumped into.

“I hope me and bro get to be at the same time,” said Gasu.

Shaking my head I was about to dash his dreams but before I could Kaiton spoke first. “That's not gonna happen little.”

“Well, why not?” contested Gasu.

“If you were paying more attention to class you'd know that a shinobi team needs a balanced team to be able to sustain itself and having two people who specialize in taijutsu wouldn't create a balanced team.” explained the twin who was a second older.

Hearing sense, Gasu sank to his seat and made a pondering expression. “Who do you think you'll be matched with?”

“Me personally, since I am already a frontline fighter I might be paired with someone who specializes in another field like Seiji. The village has adopted Lady Tsunade’s idea of each team needing to have at least one person who knows medical jutsu so I think that guy Kojika might be in my team.”

“Hey Seiji, what teams will you be in?” I asked the boy beside me.

“A Team…” he thought for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. “I don't really care and there's no use in thinking about it anyway.”

Nodding, I agreed with the sentiment. I just hope I won't be lumped in with someone like Kiba, like damn, he lost to Naruto because he got farted on. The disrespect is just unimaginable.

The graduation event lasted for an hour before we were able to leave. I said my goodbyes to the instructors knowing most likely I won't be seeing them after this.

Holding the hands of my parents I was led to a noodle restaurant with a sign over it saying Cheng’s noodles.

It was there I was treated to a feast of ramen and let's not forget the presents. I've been pestering my parents for months now and here it is my shadow clone jutsu and no it's not a forbidden jutsu. The forbidden version is the multi-version.

In the hand of my father was a box. “We've been listening so we know you've wanted this for a long time and we think you should have,” he said, exchanging smiles with Mom. “You've worked hard to get where you are and hard work should always be rewarded.”

And with that, I was handed the box. Buzzing with anticipation I needed to calm myself so I carefully removed the case covering to reveal a book whose title was B-Rank Jutsu Shadow Clone Jutsu.

I couldn't help but let a smile creep on my face in celebration and hugged them saying thanks for the gift.

The possibilities it's just immense. I can have different clones focusing on research and even in combat training, they'll do great. Gaining double or maybe even triple the experience would be godly.
