Chapter 32 - Guide

Chapter 32 - Guide

Ivan slowly closed the door of the room where Andrej slept and returned to the living room, where Katarina was looking at a picture which was split in half, the picture showed a tall man with dark hair and a beautiful woman with blonde hair and blue eyes.

"You like it huh?" asked Ivan, and Katarina jumped and squealed out of fear.

"You scared me moron"

"Sorry, i did it on purpose"

"Hmph, may i ask who those people are?" asked Katarina.

"They are my parents, Iliya and Sandra Sergejevič" said Ivan "They died in the flood, together with my grandfather Dragan, we didn't have a greatest relationship, but i'm still sad that they passed away" he finished with a sad tone.

"Who thought that Ivan could feel sad too?" thought Katarina, and Ivan opened the front door and exited the house, this surprised Katarina and she followed him outside.

"Where are you going?" she shouted, and Ivan stopped walking and turned around.

"I'm sure you noticed all the dead bodies around the village"

"Yes i did, and what about them?"

"I'm going to bury them, it's the least i can do"

"Makes sense, i'm going to help you, two is better than one right?"

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

"I agree with you, let's go" they walked to the center of the village, there they picked up some corpses, and then Ivan took Katarina to the village graveyard which he made himself, because the previous one was destroyed in the flood.

"Wow, you did all of this by yourself?" said Katarina in awe.

"Yes, but it wasn't that hard, especially not with magic" Ivan replied, then he with his wind dug up two holes, then Katarina carefully placed the corpses inside, and then Ivan buried them back with his wind, after that, he chopped some nearby trees, and made two wooden crosses, which Katarina planted in the ground, after crossing themselves and praying, they moved on to the next pair of corpses, and repeated the process several times until the night has fallen. Together, they managed to bury 25 people, while Ivan buried around one hundred in the nine days between the flood and Katarina and Andrej's arrival, the village had about 140 residents, that left around fifteen bodies left to bury.

"That would be all for today, thank you for everything, without you i would be doing this all week" said Ivan.

"You don't have to thank me, i'm doing a good deed" replied Katarina who started leaving the graveyard, however she felt like she stepped on something, so she lifted her leg and looked down and saw a small humanoid creature, about 60 centimeters tall, lying almost flattened on the ground, then it quickly stood up and flew upwards, in front of Katarina's face, it looked like some sort of female fairy.

"Hey you, who do you think you are to trample me, watch where you are going" it said with a squeaky feminine voice.

"You better watch where you sleep, breadcrumb" Katarina replied angrily.

"Watch your tongue, i'm older than your great-grandfather"

"Oh, so that is why you sleep on the ground, hag"

"Me, a hag? Sorry, but i'm currently in my prime"

"Now, now ladies, no need to argue, it's not worth it" said Ivan, and they both grew silent for a while "My name is Ivan, and this moron right here is Katarina, what's your name?"

"Finally, someone with manners, my name is Azra"

"It's a pleasure, but are you some kind of a fairy?"

"Yeah, a half human half fairy"

"Do those even exist?" asked Katarina.

"As you can see, yes, but i don't remember much about my past"

"Let's go Katarina, it was a pleasure to meet you Azra" said Ivan who walked to the gate of the graveyard.

"Wait, where are you going?"

"We are adventurers, we need to rest for tomorrow's journey" answered Katarina.

"Adventurers huh? I don't mean to brag, but i know Beodor inside out" said Azra proudly.

"Okay then, do you know how to get to the Pasjače village from here?" asked Ivan.

"Of course i do, first you go northeast for about three kilometers and then you arrive at mount Urbus, after that another 700 meters to the west and you are there" said Azra, and Ivan and Katarina looked at her in awe and surprise.

"It looks like she really knows Beodor inside out" said Katarina.

"Of course, what did you think?"

"Would you like to be our guide, we will need your skills" asked Ivan.

"I was just waiting for you to ask me"

"So, that's a yes?"

"Of course" said Azra, and the three of them went back to Ivan's house to sleep before tomorrow's journey.
