Chapter 19 - Precious times (1)

"The fourth year starts, i am so excited, from next year it will only be practice" thought Andrej while walking to the classroom, on time for once, when he arrived he saw Ivan swinging something which looked like a AAA alkaline battery.

"I found some sort of magic relic" Ivan said as he swung the battery-like object around.

"That is literally a battery" thought Andrej while seeing the awe filled faces of the other students.

"Incredible" said Mateja.

"Even you?"

"Look who is early for once" said Katarina who together with Anya stood behind Andrej.

"Miracles can happen" said Andrej.

"Oh you finally remembered to show up on time" said Ivan.

"You are making a big fuss over this"

"Anyways, me and the hero are going for a walk, we won't be here all day" added Ivan.

"Wait, are you taking him to a?" said Andrej shockingly.

"A date?" finished Katarina.

"Of course not, i don't like men, we are just going to do something" retorted Ivan calmly.

"I'm counting on you partner" said Mateja and he and Ivan exited the classroom together.

"Is he asking you on a date too?" asked Katarina.

"Who knows" replied Andrej, as Katarina exited the classroom Andrej went to take his seat, the bell ringed for the start of the class, but the professor has not yet arrived, then after about ten minutes suddenly professor Irina barged through the classroom doors out of breath and covered in sweat.

"Sorry for being late, i had to heal a guard" said Irina through breaths.

"What happened?" asked one of the students in the back.

"An attack from a group of people on a small village nearby" answered Irina.

At that moment a lot of scenarios went through Andrej's mind, from Henry to Chernobog, but he dismissed them all.

"This must be normal" Andrej said to himself.

"Did you hear that?" asked Anya.

"Yeah, but this must be normal here" replied Andrej.

"Yeah, something like that"

"Anyways, now today's lesson will be about the war that happened sixteen years ago in 1604. between the Beodor kingdom and the Order of the blood rose cult"

"I remember, father was telling me about this"

"Maybe you already heard this, but incidents of children going missing were happening all around the kingdom, and all the evidence was pointing to a cult named the Order of the blood rose, a messenger for the cult was apprehended and a letter which was to proclaim the cult's attack on the royal capital was found, and signed by none other than the demon god Chernobog, who was determined to be the leader, and so the king and his court created a squad of elite guards and adventurers to intercept the cult's army at the Bergent mountains in the south, which they did and a bloody battle occurred" explained Irina, and every next word just raised the tension.

"The battle lasted for three whole days" said Anya and Andrej at the same time.

"Correct you two, where is Mateja?" Irina asked.

"Well..he"

"He is not feeling well" said Anya.

"Okay, let's continue, as those two said, the battle lasted three days straight, great damages and destruction struck Beodor, about 3500 knights and adventurers lost their lives, and at least 7000 civilians from the nearby villages and towns died, but the numbers may be higher, the kingdom lost this battle, but the cult has been silent ever since" Irina finished her lesson with a unsatisfied face.

"This place sure is dangerous, but that doesn't matter now, let me enjoy this while i can" Andrej thought and sighed.

"Can you stop sighing every three minutes?" said Anya annoyingly.

"Wait, you are counting?"

"Okay kids, this class is dismissed" said Irina and she walked out of the classroom, all the other classes went by quickly, and the final class of the day had ended.

"Hey, me and Katarina will be in your room today" Anya told Andrej.

"Sure, why not"

He and Anya waited for Katarina, but she wasn't coming.

"Somebody must always be late" said Andrej.

"Idiot, be more polite"

"He doesn't know what that means" said Katarina, who had just arrived.

"Really?" Andrej said, the girls just laughed it off and they went to Andrej's room, when they arrived all of them immediately sat on the two beds and started talking.

"Hey Andrej, remember that one time we were throwing mud with the kids from the other village?" asked Katarina.

"Yeah, when that one guy said he had tons of mud, but it was just colored wood" Andrej replied.

"I know, right?"

"They must have had a lot of fun" thought Anya.

"I wonder what Ivan and Mateja are doing now" said Andrej.

While all of that was happening, Ivan and Mateja were in the nearest village, which was having a festival.

"Welcome hero, to the village festival" said Ivan with a deep voice "Here, you can find lots of cheap food, free drinks, but most importantly, really pretty girls!"

"Ooh, i want a beer" Mateja said before going to a drink vendor "One free beer"

"Free?" asked Ivan.

"Heroes don't need money" replied Mateja.

"I should have expected that"

"Let us drink and forget about life's hardships my friend" said Mateja and they both drank their beers, they went to most of the stands with cheap, sometimes free food and ate a lot of food and a lot of drinks, there were even some games and a play, then at sundown they started walking back to the school, while the other three were running around the room and shooting at each other with their magic, Katarina with small drops of water, Anya with lumps of earth from a flower pot, and Andrej with small orbs of darkness, which couldn't do any damage, for a long time, then Ivan and Mateja returned.

"Noooooo my beautiful bed is wet now!" said Mateja in despair.

"We have returned" said Ivan.

"Why?" asked Katarina, and Anya and Andrej snickered at that response.

"Ah, this was my favorite of your responses in all six years i've known you" Ivan said dramatically.

"Shall we continue?" asked Anya.

"Of course" said everybody else in unison, and they continued chasing and shooting each other until it was time for sleep.
