Chapter 15: The Faith Organization

Chapter 15: The Faith Organization

Yonuro, Samei, Ramael and Geord were all present in the kitchen, ready to hear the completed story of Yonuro's family from him.

Geord- Before I begin, I want to say something first. Everything that I'll tell you will be all true. Now that you know who I am and we can trust each other, I want you all to accept the information I'll give you. Okay?

Samei and Ramael nodded whereas Yonuro said with a sorrowful tone of voice.

Yonuro- I'm sorry Geord for not believing everything that you said at first. This time I won't question anything. I really trust you.

Geord- That's good to hear Yonuro. I knew that one day you'd come back asking for what happened, but I never expected you to be this ready this quickly. You're really brave and mature. I'm so glad you've grown up to be like this. Jeez, I'm sounding like a father...

"That's not surprising" he thought afterwards. "Because I've always wanted to become one..."

Yonuro smiled as she was glad Geord said those things about her.

Geord- Now then... Let's begin.

Geord- For a quick recap, as I said yesterday, from the first marriage between James Finnegan and Casey Keller, Yuri Keller was born. One day, Casey was shot dead at her own place of work one day by a member of the Faith Organization who turned out to be Yonuro's mother, Kanae Tokiyama...

Now to finish this story, I'll have to tell you about how I played a role in the story. I was one of the unlucky people that knew about Casey's secretive corporation and I was taken hostage to an undercover prison in England, owned by the Faith Organization.

To make you understand what this Organization is all about, I'll tell you a few things about them. The origins of the Faith Organization are so old and strongly tied to Japan's history that noone can ever know what exactly they're truly after. But so many years have I researched about these motherfuckers, that I can tell to some degree.

Three years after the first World War, five of the more economically powerful individuals of the entire world sided together to try and reestablish order in Japan and gain even more power without making themselves publicly known. What they did was set up a new religion. Through that religion they have gained so much power that I can't even comprehend to this day. Not only economical prowess but also the power of controlling the masses.

Yonuro noticed that Kanae was an active supporter of their religion, always bringing up God to strengthen her statements. She also tried to make Yonuro become a follower of the religion, in which she failed spectacularly.

Without stopping, Geord continued saying

Geord- As they wanted to preserve their beliefs and ideals they established, Casey's experiments were deemed dangerous. Casey made it almost to a breakthrough while studying a new essence meticulously day by day. And that was what the Faith Organization feared.

Any groundbreaking revelation could bring an end to their absolute ideals. Thus, they'd never allow such a thing to happen. And everyone possibly knowing about it wouldn't get away with it easily.

At the time of that event, also known as the Pursuit, I wasn't aware of any of this. Living in the countryside with the younger of the 3 brothers, Kevin Finnegan, we were forcefully taken to prison without the most basic explanation.

Those who were caught in the Pursuit weren't meant to be left alive. And Kevin didn't make it to the very end. Everything was pointing for my end as well, but one day I met a woman named Alice.

Alice was one of the people caught in the pursuit, whose prison cage was next to mine. Both of us talked about how to break free one day. She was one of the smartest people I've ever met. And her determination to escape was the trait that made me join her in her efforts. Combining her ingenuity and my strength, we were able to escape the prison.

They all exclaimed a sigh of relief and nodded for Geord to continue.

Geord- Alice and I didn't have a home to return to, thus we were forced to rent an apartment. During the time of our imprisonment, we got really close and we were okay with living together till we understood what the Pursuit was all about.

We would rent the same apartment in Oxford, in this way minimizing the cost and chance of getting caught again. We laid low but still kept on investigating.

At some point, Alice went to the bank to take a loan, as we were pretty low on cash. But ever since that venture to the heart of the town, she never came back. I waited for her with my heart open. I wanted to see her again... But it was all pointless. She was forever gone.

Everyone in the room had a pensive expression on their faces as Geord hadn't still gotten over her disappearance.

Geord- Even in the first few hours of our research, we had concluded that the Pursuit had to do with some secretive organization who wanted to silence everyone that knew about Casey's experiments.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Therefore, visiting any family member was extremely dangerous. But after Alice's death, It felt like it was my turn to die. I knew I was really close to getting caught again, so I left the apartment for good and went to see James' face one last time. I returned home, but as I imagined it was all empty. James was missing, as everybody else...

Samei then asked him "How did you make it out alive, Geord?"

Geord- Brothers think alike, Samei. I had to leave England for good, as it was too dangerous to stay there. I travelled to Japan by boat in the same way that James had previously.

What I failed to do however was keep my information from getting to the hands of the Faith Organization. An identification was required to travel to Japan by boat. I didn't think much of it at first so I gave out my full name. Later, however, I realized what a mistake that was.

Although I settled smoothly in Japan and kept a low profile to avoid any trouble, about two years later or so, I was once again about to get caught due to that mistake. And the one who would have done so was your mother.

Yonuro- Mom... What in the world have you done...?

Geord- Kanae was pregnant with Yonuro, when she was given the task of immobilizing me. At some point, she had realized who Eiko Tokiyama really was and she was actually feeling regretful. She loved Eiko very much but she couldn't tell him about her deeds.

As I was her husband's brother, she didn't want to give me in. She actually spared me. Kanae told me that she'd leave me alone on one condition. She threatened me that if I was ever to talk to James or their future child, Yonuro, then I'd have the same fate as Alice... Unable to do something else in that situation, I agreed to that proposal and then, Kanae informed the Faith Organization that I was supposedly dead. She also told James about it and everyone knew that I wasn't alive. In other words, I'm something of a living corpse you could say.

Samei / Yonuro- Oh my.../ What?!

Geord- So, as you can probably tell, Yonuro, when I was with you in the past, I was risking everything. If your mother had learned about this then I'd be done for. That's why I couldn't stay with you for long. That one month we spent together was really risky but I was glad I got to meet you.

Yonuro- Geord... What can I say... It's so sad that you've been through all this...

Geord- It's okay, Yonuro.. We have each other now and we're all safe! You don't have to worry anymore!

Everyone except Ramael grinned. Ramael was confused about why they were safe now out of all times. And so she asked Geord about it.

Ramael- So Geord, why are we actually safe now...? What's really changed since then?

Geord was about to answer that question yesterday but since the conversation had abruptly ended he wasn't able to do so.

Geord- Okay, let me explain. Let's get back to Yuri and Kanae's relationship.

When Yonuro was 2-3 years old, Yuri had learned about what Kanae was responsible for. Kanae was shocked that Yuri knew about her secrets and she had to do something to stop Yuri. Since Kanae's life with James was precious to her and she wanted to raise her daughter with him, she had to obliterate any threats that could reveal her secrets.

As a result, Kanae threatened Yuri that she'd ruin her life if she didn't cooperate. As time went by, Kanae became more and more violent and she would beat Yuri up if she were to spill the beans. That toxic relationship expanded quickly and affected the entire family.

Yuri swore to her dead mother that she would find enough power to get revenge, whereas Kanae swore to protect her family and raise her daughter with care.

This inside war between them came to an this month. The only possible explanation about the disappearance of Yonuro's parents and everything that happened with Yuri is the following.

Geord- As Yuri became a Demonic Lord, she got enough power to be able to stand up against Kanae. Then, she probably lost control of her emotions and told James about what Kanae had done in the past. In this way she was able to get the revenge she'd always wanted. And then she probably let them talk out the unspeakable by themselves, that's what she meant by "sorting some things out."

Kanae's life is shattered now. That's for sure. She can't talk to either you or James anymore, the two people most dear to her. That was the ideal way for Yuri to take revenge. Break the enemy's heart.

But that revenge came with a cost. Yuri must have hurt her father even more. Him learning about what actually happened to his former wife and about his family's destruction... I'll never understand how hard it must have been for him...

Yonuro- That's so cruel... I— I dunno what to say... All of that had been happening and I didn't know a thing... If only I could have done something to prevent all this...

Geord- It's not your fault Yonuro. If there's anyone that's truly innocent then it's you.

Yonuro nodded.

Geord- Now that Yuri has told everything to James, there's no reason for Kanae to keep me from talking to you. The family is ruined and Kanae doesn't have the need to try and fix the unfixable. Besides, she probably knows that I'm helping you survive, so the last thing she would do is destroy our reunion.

Yonuro bent her head down and said

Yonuro- I dont know what to think of my mother anymore... She always seemed like the most caring person in the world. I won't deny that she's raised me in the best way possible. I'm greateful for what she's done for me. But I'll never forgive what she's done to either you, Yuri or my father. Besides, she's the one that started this story. A murderer in disguise...

Samei and Ramael were left speechless. The events unfolding one after the other, It was difficult to keep up with everything.

To end things off, Geord suggested the following

Geord- I won't judge how you'll see your mother from now on. You have the right to love her and the right not to. It's up to you, Yonuro.

And that is all I have to say about the past of the Tokiyama Family...

Yonuro had a complex combination of emotions. Nevertheless, she managed to keep herself from crying and thank Geord about telling her the past.

Silence then filled the room.

Geord could be seen looking outside the window while thinking about his brother.

Samei went close to Yonuro and caressed her left shoulder to comfort her. Yonuro smiled a bit and then looked at Ramael who was thinking about the truth behind Kanae Tokiyama.

Geord didn't want to rush things so he told everyone to take it easy.

Geord- When you're feeling ready to go shopping, just say the word. I'll be in my bedroom.

Everyone moved to a different room to spend some time alone. They wanted to process everything on their own and sort out their feelings. This was a necessary step before moving on with their lives. And they all knew that very well.
