The Auction House Brawl

Chapter 10 - The Auction House Brawl

The whole of Moon Cloud city was buzzing about the news of the assassinated patriarch Zun Tai of the Zun Clan. The Lu Clan, which had now become the strongest clan in the Purple Sky Kingdom, was not exempted from the gossip.

In the midst of all the chaos, the Lu Clan was organizing an auction in their auction house, which was the biggest event of the year. People from all over the kingdom came to bid on rare treasures and materials.

As the auction was about to start, there was a commotion at the entrance. Some members of the Li and Huang Clans were trying to force their way in without proper invitations. The guards at the entrance were having a hard time keeping them at bay.

Lu Chenyang, who was overseeing the auction, was not pleased with the disruption. He walked to the entrance to see what was going on.

“Gentlemen, please calm down. If you do not have an invitation, I’m afraid I cannot let you in,” he said with a look of disdain on his face..

One of the men, from the Li Clan, spoke up. “Lu Chenyang, you may be strong, but you can’t stop us all. We demand to be let in.”

Lu Chenyang’s eyes narrowed, and he gave a small smirk. “Very well, if you insist on causing trouble, I’ll be more than happy to accommodate you.”

He then signaled to his guards, and they quickly surrounded the intruders. A fight broke out, and chaos ensued. The members of the Li and Huang Clans were no match for the Lu Clan guards, who were highly trained and skilled in combat.

The brawl continued for a while, causing damage to the auction house. Lu Chenyang finally intervened and used his cultivation to subdue the remaining troublemakers. He then ordered his guards to escort them out of the premises.

This was the Lu clan’s first auction after taking over the Mountainous Wild Beasts Forest.

As such many people, who couldn’t afford entrance each time, were in need of more resources. They hoped to find these in the auction.

After a while the auction finally started, and the bidding went smoothly. The items up for bid were some rare treasures and materials, including spirit stones and rare herbs.

As the auction progressed, Lu Chenyang noticed that there was a particular item that had caught the attention of many of the bidders. It was a pill that could greatly increase one's cultivation speed, but it was extremely rare.

It was a pill that Lu Ran found a couple of years ago and had no use for it anymore.

The bidding for the pill was fierce, and the price quickly went up. It was then that Lu Chenyang noticed a familiar face in the crowd, the person who had caused trouble at the entrance earlier. It was Li Han, the newly appointed head of the Li Clan.

Li Han was bidding aggressively on the pill, which made Lu Chenyang suspicious. He knew that the Li Clan did not have the guts to outbid the other clans after losing their clan’s core strength, so he wondered where they were getting their confidence from.

Lu Chenyang then scanned the area and noticed that there were a few suspicious-looking individuals in the crowd. They were all wearing black robes and had concealed their faces with colorful masks.

Lu Chenyang realized that they were from the Shadow Sect, a notorious organization that specialized in illegal activities such as robbery and assassination. It was clear to him now that the Li and Huang Clans had hired the Shadow Sect to steal the pill for them.

It wouldn’t be the first time the Shadow Sect stole, kills and ravages others when hired.

However they have never attacked a business from a clan with a Core Formation expert.

Lu Chenyang was not going to let that happen. He quickly asked someone to bid on the pill, and the price went up even higher. After the Huang Clan also bid a few times, they gave up since they reached their limit. The Li Clan and the other bidders were unable to match it either and Lu Chenyang’s friend won the bid.

As he was about to claim his prize, the lights suddenly went out, and chaos erupted once again. The Shadow Sect had made their move, and a fight broke out between them and the Lu Clan guards.

The fighting continued for a while, but eventually, the Lu Clan guards started to push back. The Lu clan’s guards even started to defeat some Shadow Sect members.

After a while a man with a dark aura and dark dagger walked towards Lu Chenyang.

The man disappeared and reappeared right in front of Chenyang. The man threw a heavy strike at him.

Lu Chenyang flew back as he barely blocked it. His arms were throbbing from the pain.

This man is an 8th stage Foundation cultivator. This was the leader of the Shadow Sect’s Sky Cloud Kingdom branch. He was feared by many as his assassination techniques were unmatched.

Suddenly a voice could be heard from within the VIP section.

“Scram”, and a huge pressure filled the room as all the Shadow Sect members were decisive enough to retreat at once. Even their leader retreated without looking back.

This man hadn’t participated during the bidding, even after the fighting had gone on for a while, he didn’t say anything.

This man was Lu Ran, no one knew he was here.

Initially he didn’t even plan to be here but he wanted to see his son succeed in life.

After the chaos had subsided, Lu Chenyang retrieved the pill and inspected it carefully. He discovered that it wasn’t a counterfeit and that the real pill was still up for auction. He then returned the pill to the rightful owner.

As the auction came to an end, Lu Chenyang was hailed as a hero for his bravery in protecting the auction house and the attendees. He had also proven himself to be a skilled cultivator and a worthy leader of the Lu Clan.

The events of the night had left Lu Chenyang feeling wary of the Li and Huang Clans and their association with the Shadow Sect. He knew that he needed to be more vigilant in the future to protect his clan and his city from any further harm.
