Chapter 3

I slowly opened my eyes. The world around me was still a blur, but now I could make out the shapes of chairs and desks. I was in a classroom. I frowned.I tried to stand again, but the world still seemed to be moving in slow motion. I pushed myself up, focusing on my surroundings. I was in a dark room. I could make out the shapes of chairs and desks, but they seemed to be floating in mid-air

In the darkness, I could just make out another shape. I slowly inched myself forward, my hand shaking as I felt for a chair. My fingers brushed against something hard and cold, and I froze. I was inches away from a desk.

My whole body was telling me that I was alone. But I knew better. I had felt the presence next to me. I had heard the sound of footsteps as they got closer and closer. I pushed myself up, and was about to call out when a cold hand grabbed my shoulder. I froze, too scared to move. It was him. He was standing in the corner of the room.

My heart was beating so hard that it was hard to hear anything else. The hand tightened its grip on my shoulder, and I let out a tiny whimper. Then I felt a rough hand touch my face. I closed my eyes, waiting for the pain that was coming.

"You're safe," he said. "I'm your spirit guide." I looked at him. His voice seemed familiar, but I couldn't place it.

My eyes had become adjusted to the darkness, and I could make out the shape of a man in front of me. He was tall and broad shouldered, with long silver hair that floated around him as he moved. He was wearing a long, flowing white robe that reached the floor, and the blue light from the window reflected off of it, making him look almost unreal. There was a bright light coming from his body, as if he were a spirit himself.

I was so startled that my heart almost stopped beating. Instead, I felt a chill creep up my spine. I looked at him in confusion. He smiled and turned his head towards me.

His eyes were an icy blue. It was the same color as the light that was coming from his body. I swallowed hard, my limbs still frozen in place. I finally managed to nod, and he smiled once more.

I watched as he turned back towards the corner. His head was still bowed, but now I couldn't see the curve of his neck. I frowned. Had he suddenly disappeared?

I looked down at my hand, which still felt like I had touched something cold. I couldn't see my fingers, but I knew they were shaking. I looked up at the mirror on the wall and saw my reflection. I thought I looked awful.

I couldn't take it anymore. I had to get out of there. I started to move forward, but I felt him grab my leg. I let out a scream and jumped back.

My heart was still beating out of my chest, and I could feel the blood rushing to my head. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I looked down at his hand, still on my leg. It was cold. I looked at his face again, and his eyes seemed to be watching me.

Those eyes were all I remembered before everything went black once more.
