Chapter 2

Light... the sounds of my body, the soft touch of what I assumed were wings...

"Are you alright?"

I thought I had died... This voice was familiar... was it...?

"You're alright, aren't you?" I struggled to speak as I felt something wake me from my sleep. My eyes were blurred from fighting on to just rest.

"What... was it?"

"... Something has awoken you within the body you have inhabited, something you must-do if you wish to return from this world..."

The voice was somber. And as my thoughts gathered in harmony, as my mind began to digest what I thought I had just learned, I could only be confused.

"What need do I have for you to do something for me? I think I will find some other solution to this..."

...

"What you have been saying... You... you mean... " the voice came again, it was more forceful than before as if rushing to complete its last thought.

It was as if the voice had been speaking to my mind, or my very soul, and now the words had all been said. The white room slowly began to disappear as my eyes were starting to cloud, the line of my vision was becoming more and more blurred... As I looked around I realized that this was not the familiar room it had been. It was darker than I remembered and it felt different. There was the same sensation of being watched... I couldn't move, so I just blinked in suprise.

"You must return to the source that was within you before you were brought here..."

My surroundings were beginning to come into focus as I heard another voice this time. I tried to stand. But it was as if someone had pulled the rug out from underneath my feet. I crashed down heavily.

As my eyes opened, my jaw dropped and words started to flow out as fast as I was able. "It can't be..." I said with my voice sounding as though it were being eaten away by a predator. My words seemed to make the voices in my head recede in time as they began rushing away, making my voice sound like the rasping wind...
