Five blades of destruction formed on both of Akasha’s hand as he flew toward the two Fiend Kings. The destruction-type Fiend King charged at Akasha, but he slashed forward with his left hand, shooting the five blades of destruction. Left with no choice, the destruction-type Fiend King blocked the incoming blades of destruction, allowing Akasha to bypass him and charge straight at the fire-type Fiend King.
Although the Fiend King also possessed a body nearly comparable to a highgod artifact, that was only his saint body. No matter what, a divine clone’s body was created from divine power, so it would never possess a body comparable to a Sovereign artifact.
“Die!” Akasha shouted. He only had interests in the Fiend King’s soul and body, he couldn’t care less about his divine clones.
Clang!
Akasha’s eyes widened as he felt the fire-type Fiend King blocked his move. Although he blasted the latter away, and lacerations covered his body, the Fiend King hadn’t received any serious damage. Before he could pursue the fire-type Fiend King, the destruction-type Fiend King had already appeared behind him with his fist raised.
Before the Fiend King’s attack could land, a tail grew out of Akasha’s waist and slammed into the fist. The Fiend King’s attack cracked Akasha’s tail and caused blood to leak from the wounds. Not only that, it also sent Akasha crashing into the distance.
Akasha quickly adjusted his position, but the two divine clones of the Fiend King already rushed toward Akasha. The three figures duked it out and shadows of claws, fists, and tails intermixed. Although most highgods couldn’t discern what happened, the stronger one could tell that the Fiend King occupied the advantage.
A thunderous crack echoed through the Bloodshed Plains and Akasha, and the two Fiend King’s separated.
“Haha, I never expected you to be able to launch your destruction blades or grow a tail!” the Fiend King shouted with glee.
Akasha snorted. “And I didn’t expect you to have fused four profound mysteries of fire. However, I have to say that you are quite daring. You let your saint clone merge with your fire-type divine clone instead of your destruction-type clone. What if I had aimed at your destruction-type divine clone?”
The Fiend King laughed. “How many times have we fought? I know you better than you know yourself. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but you will always aim for the weakest link when facing two or more deities.”
Akasha frowned. “I see. I guess I’ll have to change that habit after killing you!”
The Fiend King didn’t meet up to face Akasha’s attack head on. Instead, the two clones merged into one facing Akasha. Just before clashing, the fire-type divine clone shot out front and collided with Akasha. Akasha slashed forward, blades of destruction trailing behind.
The fire-type Fiend King raised his arm in front of him and formed a whirlpool of flames. Once Akasha’s hand entered the range, it started to distort and twist, the effect only became more pronounced on the blades of destruction. They twisted together, dramatically reducing the danger.
Akasha frowned and closed his thumb and pinkie. The blades of destruction formed by those two fingers merged with the remaining three fingers and increased their lethality. Not only that, Akasha increased the strength in his arm and pierced through the restraint of the whirl of fire and into the Fiend King’s chest.
Against Akasha’s expectation, a hole opened in the Fiend King’s chest, and his hand passed through harmlessly. ‘One of the mystery he fused must have been the Profound Mystery of Flamebody!’
He didn’t have time to react as the hole in the fire-type Fiend King’s chest closed and wrapped around his arm, trapping him. Next, the destruction-type Fiend King appeared next to Akasha’s left with his fist reared. Akasha brought his right hand over and placed the blades of destruction protectively in front of his body, but the Fiend King’s fist shattered the blades of destruction, broke Akasha’s left arm, and launched him into the distance.
“You’re not getting away!” The Fiend King said as his two clones merged into one and gave chase. His attack didn’t have much blowback as it was concentrated in one spot, but Akasha obviously borrowed his power to distance himself.
Once far enough, Akasha stopped his momentum and turned around. Divine power quickly filled his left arm as it began to heal, but it would not would not heal in time. Still, he didn’t fret as he clenched his right hand except for one finger. He slashed forward, forming a single blade of destruction as the Fiend King arrived.
The reason the Fiend King shattered the five blades of destruction was due to hitting their weak points. If he had punched their tips, Akasha would have had the upper hand, but he targeted their sides, the weakest points.
The Fiend King once again gathered a black maelstrom of destruction-type divine power in his right fist and punched forward. Simultaneously, his fire-type divine clone emerged behind him and prepared to strike Akasha from his blind angle. Alas, the Fiend King underestimated the power of Akasha’s technique. The fewer fingers Akasha used, the more powerful the blade of destruction became.

The blade of destruction spliced through the Fiend King’s attack and struck his torso. Flesh peeled layer after layer, revealing black and red bones. The Fiend King spat out a mouthful of blood as he flew backward. Had his saint clone not fused with his destruction-type divine clone, he would have lost it.
Akasha didn’t let up and charged at him.
Upon seeing this, a sense of danger erupted in the Fiend King’s heart. His fire-type divine clone merged into his body from behind before charging out at Akasha from the front.
“A useless move,” Akasha said lightly as he slashed forward.
The blade of destruction sliced through the fire-type divine clone, but no blood came out. Instead, the fire-type Fiend King had turned his body into flashes, allowing Akasha’s attack to slice through him before merging the two halves into one. However, his face paled slightly. Akasha’s attack wasn’t a pure material attack but contained a soul attack as well.
Still, the fire-type Fiend King didn’t back off and became more aggressive instead. Fire burst from his body as he charged toward Akasha like a mad beast. Akasha didn’t lose his cool and defended. If he wanted to, he could deal a heavy blow, but material attacks wouldn’t affect the current Fiend King much. Instead, he would have to unleash at least tens of attacks to severely injure him.
But the Fiend King was too aggressive. He didn’t give Akasha a chance to attack much. If Akasha abandoned his defense, he could deal substantial damage, but he didn’t want to. Especially since he could sense the destruction-type Fiend King gathering a large amount of divine power.
The destruction-type Fiend King raised both arms into the sky, palms open. A black and gray orbed started to form. It was a tiny thing, but as time passed, it slowly grew larger. The larger it grew, the more Akasha’s heart palpitated.
Akasha had never seen the Fiend King use this technique. However, it was likely a technique that had great power but needed too much time to unleash, making it unsuitable for battle. Akasha also developed such a technique, but never had a chance to use it. The Fiend King was different. He had two powerful divine clones. One could draw his attention, while the other focused on unleashing the technique.
‘I mustn’t not let him succeed!’ Akasha thought.
He started going berserk. With his left arm healed, Akasha had started attacking with both hands, five blades of destruction on each instead of one. If the single blade of destruction was a sniper, then five was a shotgun. It couldn’t do as much damage at a single point, but it had a wider range.
Under Akasha’s increased offensive, the fire-type Fiend King slowly lost his edge as he sustained more damage. Even so, he did not relent. His eyes shined as he spotted a flaw in Akasha’s tempo. Fire gathered in the Fiend King’s fist as he nailed Akasha to the side, launching him away.
“No!” The force of his attack had launched Akasha toward his destruction-type divine clone. With the Fiend King’s intelligence, how could he not know that Akasha had purposely orchestrated this?
A faint smile appeared on Akasha’s face as the five blades of destruction on each hand became one. Just as he was about to unleash his offensive on the Fiend King, a smile appeared on the latter’s face. Sensing something wrong, Akasha moved to dodge, but it was too late.
The Fiend King brought his arms down, and with his palm aimed at Akasha, launched the black orb. Akasha didn’t have to dodge as the orb struck him. At first, nothing happened, but the orb suddenly increased in size and encapsulated the former.
Akasha screamed as he felt his body decompose within the orb. Black divine power burst out from his figure and pulsed in a profound manner. This was Akasha’s defensive technique, Destruction Pulse. Anything that neared Akasha would be bombarded by waves after waves of destruction. One wave might not do much, but what about a hundred? The longer anything stayed near, the more devastated and injured they became.
Alas, Akasha’s last-minute defense could not withstand the Fiend King’s technique, which he spent a long time preparing. Had Akasha’s body not reached the level of a highgod artifact, he would have died.
The black orb of destruction started to weaken, but before it ran out of energy, it gave one final blow as it popped. Akasha had survived, but injuries littered his body. All of his scales had cracked, three of his horns broke, and blood leaked from his scales.
“Die, Fiend King!” Akasha shouted with a hint of madness in his eyes.
The Fiend King sensed danger and immediately distance himself. A phantom of a giant dragon over a hundred meters large appeared behind Akasha. The dragon raised its head and roared. Black ripples exploded, bombarding everything near Akasha.
The Fiend King had merged his two divine clones together, but he had not fled from the range of Akasha’s divine ability, Howl of Destruction. Injuries appeared all over his body, but the worse thing was the damage to his soul. Face pale, the Fiend King fled even faster, ignoring the injuries on his body.
Akasha had never used his innate ability on the Fiend King because he needed the latter alive to use his innate ability. However, this greed of his gave the Fiend King a chance to seriously injure him.
Seconds later, the phantom of the Genesis Wyrm disappeared, but Akasha flew after the Fiend King. He sensed a threat from the Fiend King, unlike any other. He originally thought the Fiend King was equally as talented in the Edict of Destruction as him, but the latter’s talent in the Elemental Law of Fire surprised him. If he did not kill the Fiend King now, Akasha could already imagine his eventual defeat or death at the Fiend King’s hands.
Injured in body and soul, the Fiend King’s combat potential dropped massively. Those who practiced the Edict of Destruction didn’t possess the fastest speed, but this caused him to be even slower. In a few minutes, Akasha caught up. He raised his clenched fist and unfurled one finger and slashed down.
Just as Akasha thought he would succeed, an eagle’s cry caught his attention. He turned his head to see a giant, golden bird with two curved horns sprouting of its head. Its body released a brilliant radiance that Akasha recognized as originating from the Elemental Law of Light.
Akasha knew who this divine beast was. It was Godfrey, the city lord of Godfrey City. Unlike him and the Fiend King, Goldroc did not train in the edicts and only trained in the Elemental Law of Light. But he still possessed power near that of a seven-star fiend.
It wasn’t because Godfrey had merged the profound mysteries of light, but because he was Fierce Flash Golden Roc. Not only did he have a powerful divine ability, but he possessed a body stronger than Akasha’s. Akasha suspected that if Godfrey became a Sovereign of Light, his body would become comparable to a Sovereign artifact.
And now, Akasha could feel the Godfrey using his divine ability against him.
