Chapter 36.2 - Secrets Under The Moonlight

Here's the second part, hope you enjoy it!

Elenia's POV

Is it alright to trust him? I thought as I went back to my room.

The Academy provided all the contestants a place to stay and we were given one of the best ones.

The architecture was strange at first as they were made from stone and wood while ours were grown. We were tempted to create our own homes but we decided against it and put up with the unnerving structures.

My team and I were given each a room in the west wing of a building made out of 'marble'. It looked like it was made from the tree 'Elkshaw' that we have back home but surprisingly it was made from stone.

When I first touched it, it felt cool and hard. Different from the warm, comfortable and familiar feeling.

It amazed me knowing that the humans were capable of creating such a thing from stone. Of course, it pales in comparison to the structures created by dwarves but for us elves it is something that we cannot do.

I met with Raphael and the rest of my team in the common room. This room was connected to the hallway leading to where the other contestants in this wing were, as well as being connected to our own rooms.

The room was decorated with four long couches surrounding a high table filled with information on all the other teams as well as those of the country, most specifically the Rigel Royal Family.

"You're back' said Raphael,"how was it?"

"He's not as suspicious," I answered.

He nodded and said,"The sister is a problem, we didn't expect that their power even reaches the church."

"What neutrality, they are obviously favoring the Rigel Kingdom!" said one of us.

"It can't be helped," I said, "Ever since that day, the Rigel Kingdom has been a moving silently. If we weren't here, we would have never known as much as we do now."

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

"In any case, prepare to send everything we know back home. We know enough to call for a change in stance. After that, we have to prepare to rescue Talleria. You know your marks correct?"

They all nodded in unison and I said to myself,"Talleria… wait for us."

Zed's POV

I didn't go back to the bus after talking with Elenia.

Instead, I went to my brother, Leon, to see if he knew anything. I worried on how to bring it up as I went to his room.

His room was in the north wing along with the rest of my family. His room was decorated lavishly. I admired the care that Artemia put into the decorations as Leon gave me some Flavalell Tea. It was his favorite blend as it could recover mana and fatigue while soothing the mind.

"So what brings you here brother?" He asked as he sipped his tea.

I took a sip of tea and then said,"Is there anyway Alexandra can remove the excommunication on Elenia's family?"

He raised his eyebrows and said,"it's better to talk to Alexandra herself about that."

"I know but," I said as I fidgeted,"she's not really in the best mood right now."

He laughed deeply and said, "So even the genius is afraid of her sister."

"Don't laugh!"

He laughed some more and said, "Don't worry, I'm scared of her too. Her temper garners enough attention that she's also called "Devil Angel". She looks like an angel until you get her mad, then you deal with the devil herself."

I nodded and said, "And that's why I came to you. She'll be more inclined to listen to you."

"While that is true, you and I both know that she dotes on you and will not stop for anything if it was about you."

His expression hardened as he said, "So what is the real reason that you're here?"
