Episode 11 The reconciliation

As the night passed, a fresh morning greeted Alan.

Alan swiftly got out of bed as if there was something important he needed to do, despite the soreness throughout his body. He didn't slow down his pace as he quickly tidied up his belongings.

" I'm heading out!"

Alan called out as he stepped onto his powered skateboard, making his way to training as usual.

However, his mind was occupied with the task Jack had entrusted to him last night.

"If you want to upgrade this little guy, you'll need to scavenge for some electronic components, the more sophisticated, the better!"

Allen couldn't wait to start thinking about which stores in the city he would go to to find parts after finishing training early today.

Unknowingly, he passed by the fruit shop from yesterday. Unexpectedly, the two bullies from yesterday appeared there again, ready to bully the shop aunt and her daughter Duoer.

Alan stop, struggling with whether to intervene again because at this moment, he couldn't confront them with Ethan backing them up.

"please… leave my daughter alone!"

Aunt Mary pleaded desperately.

""This time, no one is coming to save you! Be quiet! "

the two bullies said, grabbing Aunt Mary's daughter, Doris.

Initially, Alan turned his head, thinking of leaving and not wanting to meddle further. However, he couldn't ignore Doris's helpless cries, which made him unable to pretend he hadn't heard anything. He sighed deeply in self-deprecation.

"Ah... Alan, Alan... looks like you still haven't learned to stay out of trouble!"

He prepared to turn back and wade into the fray once more.

Just when Alan was impatiently wondering why a car would obstruct him from helping, the off-road Hummer abruptly braked in front of him, blocking his path.

To Alan's surprise, the driver was Hannah.

Hannah, with her usual disgruntled expression, glanced at Alan and uttered just one sentence,

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

"You stay here.!"

Alan didn't understand Hannah's intention, furrowing his brows as he wondered what she was up to.

Hannah looked at Alan, conveying the message of "Just stay put and watch the show." She then took out a sniper rifle from the backseat, aiming it unapologetically at the two thugs guarding.

"Hey! You two, let go of that mother and daughter, or I will shoot you!.

The two bullies initially intended to turn around and retort, "Who the hell are you!? Who dares..."

However, they were taken aback when they turned around and saw princessHannah calmly aiming a gun at them, causing them to immediately retract their words.

"Sorry...princess... It's just the captain's orders... we're just following orders..."

Hannah snorted at their excuses, especially when Ethan's name came up, which really rubbed her the wrong way.

"From now on, I will run this shop. If you dare to harass others again, I will throw you outside the city to feed the zombies! Do you understand? Get out!

The two bullies kept saying "Yes,princess! We don't dare anymore!" before staggering away and running away, proving that evil people have no courage.

Watching the villains run off, Aunt Mary hurriedly hugged her daughter Doris, thanking Hannah repeatedly.

"Princess, we're so thankful to you. If you hadn't shown up in time... my daughter would've been taken away..."

Seeing Aunt Mary thanking her tearfully, Hannah's expression softened from a scowl to a gentle one as she reassured Aunt Mary,

"It's alright, Auntie. From now on, no one will dare to come again. You can rest assured and do business peacefully."

Hannah not only comforted Aunt Mary but also gently reassured Doris,

"Hey... your are Doris, right? The bad guys are gone . You don't have to worry about them anymore. You can live your life without fear..."

Doris thanked her,

"Thank you, !... Could you teach me self-defense or something like that? So, I can protect my mom and myself in the future..."

In a rare moment, Hannah revealed her sweet smile and agreed with a gentle tone,

"Of course, you can come find me tomorrow! Big sister has to leave for now!"

Hannah encouraged Doris with a hug, treating her like a younger sister.

Watching Hannah's expressions, both scowls and smiles, Alan couldn't help but notice, but he pretended not to care because he knew, up to this point, she wouldn't smile for him.

After bidding farewell to Aunt Mary and Doris, Hannah walked back to the car, unsurprisingly finding Alan once again wearing his disgruntled expression. She coldly commanded,

"Get in."

Facing Hannah's icy demeanor, Alan couldn't help but feel exasperated to the extreme.

"Sigh... am I really not worth a smile from you?"

he grumbled. Despite his complaints, Alan folded up his skateboard and got into Hannah's Hummer, resigned to his fate.

As the car smoothly navigated through the city, the atmosphere inside remained tense. Both Hannah and Alan wore scowls, silently competing to see who would speak first.

Alan broke the silence, addressing Hannah,

"Excuse me...how did you know I would be here? Are you following me?"

Sensing that she had been caught, Hannah stuttered but then arrogantly denied,

"No...I don't know"

"Oh... I see..." Although Alan didn't believe her, he chose not to push further. Instead, he sincerely thanked her,

"By the way, thank you for saving me yesterday...otherwise I might have been killed by Ethan...... I really appreciate it."

People respond better to kindness than to harshness.

Hannah, feeling unexpectedly touched by Alan's sudden sincerity, glanced at him but seemed to soften her demeanor, no longer wearing her usual scowl. She casually responded,

"Actually, you saved me first... I should be thanking you. So, we're even"

With a smile, Hannah looked at Alan, who felt a sense of relief at the change in her attitude.

"So... what did you want to talk to me about yesterday?"

Alan asked, prompting Hannah to gradually slow down the car until it came to a stop.

Taking a deep breath, Hannah turned to face Alan and blurted out,

"Do you want to take Ethan down?"
