The Widowmaker.

Nico’s POV

Hi there, I am a 34-year old man looking to make ends meet after I got sacked at the local pizza palace. One night, I went to a bar and got really drunk when a young female approached me.

“Two shots of the widowmaker please,” she said to the bartender, a seasoned mixologist called Sam.

The widowmaker? I thought to myself. I had heard rumors about a drink so potent that it could knock you off your feet with just one shot.

Sam poured a shot of The Widowmaker, its deep crimson hue shimmering mysteriously under the dim lights. I took a moment to examine the shot glass. It looked deceptively innocent, like a tiny drop of temptation.

“The second one’s yours,” she said to me without eye contact and she gulped hers immediately.

“Excuse me?” I said to the mysterious good looking lady.

“Are you gonna drink it or not?” She asked sternly.

“How can I accept a drink from a stranger what if-what if it’s poisoned?” I said.

She scoffed and then she gulped mine as well. “Did I die?” She teased me.

She signaled the bartender to pour another shot of the widowmaker for me. I stared at the drink for a while, examining it.

She ran out of patience then she yelled, “Would you just drink the fucking shot already?!”

“Fine, okay okay!” I said as I gulped the shot. The taste was an explosion of flavors—spicy, sweet, and smoky all at once. I felt the burning sensation travel down my throat, and for a moment, I thought I might have made a terrible mistake. But then something unexpected happened.

As the liquid settled in my stomach, a wave of warmth spread through my body. It was as if The Widowmaker had unleashed a hidden reserve of fatigue and my energy evaporated. I began to weep and tell this total stranger girl my entire life story.

“…and that was how I lost my job at Uncle Tapers pizza palace.”

“Uncle Tapers? That’s crazy dawg.” Sam said. Didn’t even know he was listening.

“Three, two…” the lady counted and just as she got to one, I passed out.

Agent Velvet Viper

“Sam, you know why Mr. Malevolence pays you.” I said to Sam as I slipped an envelope filled with cash underneath his reaching palms.

“To keep mute,” he responded as he took the envelope and invisibly locked his lips.

“The Elysium serum did its job yet again,” Sam added.

“Yet again,” I said with a brief smile then I asked Sam to help me take Nico outside to my Mercedes.

To avoid peering eyes and obvious questions, Sam decided to audibly say,

“Nothing to look at here, just a very drunk guy and his girlfriend trying to get home!”

“I’m not his girlfriend,” I gritted audibly.

We got to my apartment and just like magic, he became conscious again.

“Where, where am I?” He asked faintly while seated at the backseat of my car.

“Nico Williams, I’m Agent VV,” I sinisterly said.

“Agent Vagina?” He replied confusedly.

“No not that, Agent Velvet Viper.” I immediately corrected him. I turned back to reveal my face to him and then he gasped.

“You’re the girl from the bar,”

“I’m the girl from many bars Nico Williams.” I replied with a shrug.

“And how do you know my name?”

“How do I say this without scaring you off?” I thought out loud.

“You’re scaring me already, how do you know my full name and how the fuck did I get here?!” He demanded.

“That’s not your full name Nico. Your full name is Nico Joao Williams and you got here because the universe chose you.”

“Fairs, by the way what do you mean the universe chose me?” He was a questioner.

“Would you calm down Nico. Mr. Malevolence has been watching you since you got fired from that pizza palace.”

“I told you about the pizza palace?” He cut in.

“Yeah you did. And you didn’t fail to tell me about Liza. How she dumped you and left you for that rich and insanely hot guy.”

“That insanely hot guy’s my brother!”

“Oh, no one could possibly ever guess that.” I jeered.

“Fuck you mysterious lady.” He sighed deeply and then said, “Jeez, how fucked up was I?

I had enough of the talks, it was now time for action.

“Come with me,” I said to him as I came down and opened the door for him.

“And what makes you think I’d come with you?” He asked me.

“Do you want Liza back?”

“Yeah,”

“Do you want to restore your former glory?” I asked him again.

“I didn’t have any glory before but yeah, I wanna do that.”

“Then come with me and you won’t regret it.” I sounded so assuring and assertive.

We spent a night at my rented apartment and the next morning we took our flight South.

“This is my first time taking a flight,” Nico nervously told me.

“Wont be your last.” I replied as we boarded the private jet with the letter M boldly written on the private jet.

Nico’s POV

We landed in a secluded spot then Agent VV signaled some men and they took us to where the helicopter was parked.

“Get in,” a hefty man said to me.

I did as he said, confused as fuck but because of the things Agent VV promised me, I had to remain composed.

Ahead of us was an island, as we edged on closer towards the ground, a large helipad with the letter M boldly written on it was were we landed.

“What’s with this guy and the letter M!” I yelled as I asked Agent VV.

“We’re almost approaching why don’t you ask the man yourself when we get down!” She yelled back.

“Are you trying to be sarcastic or should I really do that?!” I yelled.

She didn’t respond instead she rolled her eyes and put in her ear plugs. When we arrived, another group of hefty men escorted us to the building.

From the outside boasted a fusion of architectural elegance and high-tech sophistication, a stark contrast to the stereotypical lairs of villains. The entrance was a formidable set of double doors adorned with menacing symbols, guarded by imposing statues of grotesque creatures.

Inside, the headquarters was a  maze of sterile corridors and high-tech chambers. The walls were adorned with screens displaying surveillance footage from all over the world, showcasing the reach and power of this organization. Armed guards clad in sleek, black uniforms patrolled the hallways with ruthless efficiency.

“Agent VV I am not liking what I am seeing,” I whispered to her while shuddering in terror.

“Hush now,” she ordered. She walked with confidence, strutting in style as though she was familiar with terror.

People who worked at the organization stared at mainly me while we walked. Agent VV led me deeper into the heart of the headquarters, finally arriving at an imposing door guarded by two hulking sentinels. Agent VV knocked sharply, and the door slowly swung open, revealing a dimly lit chamber. In the center of the room, seated behind a massive obsidian desk, was the enigmatic mastermind I presumed.

“Mr. Malevolence, sorry we kept you waiting.” Agent VV said as the door shut closed after us
