Mr. Malevolence

Nico’s POV

Mr. Malevolence was a man of formidable presence, his features obscured by shadow, except for his piercing eyes that seemed to radiate malevolence itself. Agent VV stepped forward, presenting me to Mr. Malevolence. "This is Nico Williams," VV declared, "a recruit I believe possesses unique skills and potential."

Mr. Malevolence's voice was cold and calculating as he addressed me. "Welcome, Nico," he said, his words dripping with ominous charm. "We have been watching you closely. Your particular set of talents is of great interest to our cause. But before we can trust you fully, you must prove your loyalty."

My heart raced as I realized the gravity of the situation. "Your task," Mr. Malevolence continued, "is to become one of our assassins. You will eliminate those who threaten our operations and security. Fail, and the consequences will be severe."

I was too frightened to speak, I was conflicted. “But Mr. Malevolence sir,” there was a slight tremble in my voice as I spoke.

“Just Mr. Malevolence would be just fine.” He cut in.

I corrected myself and then continued, “I have never killed a soul in my life.”

“Oh I see, you’ve trained your mind to forget all about July the third just before independence when you killed your girlfriend with your own hands.” Mr. Malevolence said.

My eyes widened at the mention of my horrible secret, “It didn’t mean to, it wasn’t my intention.” I shamefully said ashamed of my past.

“Me sitting right here, everyone standing in this room it wasn’t our intention to be a part of this, but it had to happen for a greater cause.”

I was hesitant so Mr. Malevolence asked me, “Are you in or are you out?”

I nodded my fate sealed as I accepted the dark path that lay ahead. Agent VV ushered me out of the room, leaving me with a sense of foreboding and a chilling realization that I was now entangled in the web of an evil organization with seemingly boundless power.

As VV escorted me to my allocated room we discussed in hush tones, “What the fuck was that VV?” I said overwhelmed.

“Can you learn to shut the fuck up while we walk through these halls, the fucking walls have ears.” She responded.

We got to my room and it was magnificent, the stark contrast between the room's luxury and the foreboding surroundings outside its walls was jarring. It had all the trappings of a high-end suite, complete with fine furnishings and a breathtaking view.

“It’s beautiful,” I uttered in awe.

“That’s what they all say.” Agent VV said.

“They? Who are they?” She stared at a table behind me and I turned as well to have a look at what she was so engrossed in staring at. It was a picture of a man who looked in his late 30’s, he was a fine looking man but I didn’t get why VV got lost just by looking at his picture.

“Who is he?” I asked.

She abruptly drifted back into reality and responded, “The former occupant of this room, Agent Vicard. He died two years ago, burnt alive at a warehouse.”

She seemed rather melancholic as she narrated who he was, “I’m sorry,” I apologized as I patted her on the shoulders.

Her reflexes were fast as she stopped me from touching her shoulders.

She released me from her tight grip as she said, “Never touch me without permission.”

“Duly noted,” I abruptly said.

Still grappling with the reality of my situation, I turned to Agent VV and said, "I didn't sign up for this to be an assassin. I thought I was joining an organization that would make a difference in the world, something that can make Liza wished she had me, something cool like an agent."

Agent VV regarded me with a cold, calculating gaze. "Well you’re here now," she replied in a tone devoid of emotion. "This is your new life. You will be trained by me to become a great assassin."

“What if I back out, what if I leave this place without Mr. Malevolence knowing, what if you-“ she interrupted me saying,

“There are no what if’s. Mr. Malevolence chose you, it’s a do or die affair.”

“No, you can’t be serious.” Desperate to find a way out of my current predicament, i said hopelessly to VV.

“Apologies, Nico.” She said faintly to me. Before she locked me in my room, she said, “Plus, being an assassin is cool.”

I slept off forgetting my current situation and I woke up to a banging loud alarm bouncing me up on my feet and realizing what my reality now was.

“Nico, meet me outside in 5,” Agent VV said.

Frustrated, annoyed and still sleepy, I got prepared before 5 minutes elapsed. “What happened to the regular alarm clock for normal people.” I asked sarcastically.

“Better get used to that.” She said.

We walked through the halls this time, there were no peering eyes just people communicating through wireless earphones.

“Who are all these people?” I whispered while I spoke.

“Workers,” she responded.

Without a word, she gestured for me to follow her as we stepped into a sleek, high-speed elevator that would take us to the lower levels. As the elevator descended, I tried starting a conversation with VV but she stood firm with her hands folded. She had always had this stern sexy look to her and I felt that with time I’d get into her thick skin.

Finally, the elevator doors opened to reveal a massive underground chamber. A large electric door stood before us, guarded by an array of complex security measures. Agent VV swiftly manipulated a keypad, and the door slid open, revealing a room filled with probably agents engaged in hushed conversations and preparations.

Agent VV guided me through the threshold, and the room fell silent as all eyes turned towards us. These agents, shrouded in professionalism, represented a diverse blend of talents and backgrounds.

VV began the introductions. "Nico, allow me to introduce you to our team. This is Agent Imani Keita," she said, gesturing towards a dark skinned hefty woman with nice curves, hefty clothings and a calm demeanor. She had black and blondes dreads packed upwards,"Imani possesses a remarkable skill for fighting and killing people in unimaginable ways. Her ability to read people is unparalleled coupled with her ability to torture victims for answers.”

“In short, I’m not your average woman,” Imani greeted me with a crooked smirk. I nodded in acknowledgment as VV continued,

“And this is Isabella Torres." She pointed to a young lady surrounded by an array of high-tech equipment and medical equipments. She was real pretty, with black hair and a round face which matched perfectly with her almond shaped eyes. "Isabella is our tech specialist and medical expert. Her knowledge of technology and medicine is unmatched, making her an invaluable asset."

Isabella greeted me with a warm smile but she abruptly switched.

Finally, Agent VV turned to me, her demeanor shifting to a more formal tone. "I am Agent Velvet viper," she said, extending her hand. "My special skills lie in strategic planning and information retrieval. I myself also possess a remarkable skill of infiltration and blending seamlessly into any environment. Together, we will all work under the command of Mr. Malevolence."
