As the hatchling emerged from its shell, its crest was adorned with delicate leaves that looked like feathers, each one a vibrant shade of forest green. These feather-like foliage swayed gently in the brisk, moist air of the ridge, mirroring the hatchling's struggle to liberate itself from its former prison. It seemed as though the hatchling was imbued with the very soul of nature itself, akin to a tiny sprout daringly piercing through the earth's crust to strive towards the heavens.
At the tail's base of the hatchling, a petite leaf shimmered in the subdued light filtering down the ridge, its bright buttercup color standing out against the muted earth tones of the surroundings. The leaf was small, yet vibrant, like a beam of sunshine in a dark forest. It looked as though it had been plucked from a nearby buttercup flower and carefully placed there as a symbol of new life and growth.
As the hatchling took its first tentative steps, its larger back leaf unfurled, revealing a stunning shade of forest green that seemed to glow in the dim light. The leaf was large, with delicate veins that ran like a network of tiny rivers, carrying life-giving nutrients to every corner of the hatchling's body. It looked like a verdant shield, protecting the hatchling from the dangers of the world.
With each movement, the leaves on the hatchling's crest and back swished and rustled with a gentle whispering sound, like the rustle of leaves in the wind. As the wyvern wriggled and flailed its tiny wings, searching for something to cling to, Roh could feel a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins, fueling his sense of satisfaction and pride. He held out his arm, offering the wyvern a safe and familiar place to rest. The soft down on the wyvern's belly tickled his skin as it sniffed at his arm, then nuzzled against it, seeming to recognize him as its own.
I can’t believe it actually hatched. The wyvern hatchling looked straight up at Roh. It appeared quite peculiar with its neck stretched out and its head flailing backwards as it tried to balance the weight of it. It seemed so innocent and vulnerable as it gazed up at him wide eyed and full of wonder, oblivious to the slaughter that had taken place to its kin.
As the wyvern nuzzled against Roh's arm, a soft, melancholic orchestral tune began to play in the background. The mournful notes of the strings seemed to tug at Roh’s heartstrings, while the ethereal voices of a female choir added a transcendent quality to the music, singing in a language that sounded almost Elvish.
The music seemed to perfectly capture the bittersweet moment - the joy of new life and the sadness of the loss that had come before it. As the melody swelled, Roh couldn't help but feel a deep sense of emotion welling up inside him. It was clear that the game designers had put a great deal of thought into every aspect of this scene, from the visuals to the music, in order to create a truly immersive experience. The music was just another layer in a carefully crafted world that the player could lose themselves in. Wow the game really wants to hit me in the feels.
Roh couldn’t help but feel empathetic to the tiny creature’s plight. They shared that in common, both orphans in this savage world. And although Roh wasn’t actually an orphan, he had felt so alone for the last few years and cut off from his family. The familiar ache of longing grew within him. There was no way that this freshly hatched creature, which was not even a day old, could fend for itself. Roh swore an oath to protect this tiny creature at all costs. It blinked its right eye slowly as if reading his thoughts and responding approvingly. He fought back the tears as his eyes began to sting and patted the whelpling’s head as reassurance, “rroa-rroa”, it began to make a purr-like sound. It sounded like the baby wyvern was calling his name.
The foundling’s eyelids grew heavy as it exuded bluish plumes of smoke from its tiny nostrils.

Roh gently lifted the diminutive draconic pup and placed it atop his right shoulder, cradling it with care. Despite its scrawny body, the hatchling possessed a divine strength that Roh could feel emanating from it. Its compact form took up little space on his shoulder, but it radiated an energy that belied its size.

As the hatchling perched on his shoulder, Roh was struck by how light and delicate it felt. Despite its scrawny frame, the hatchling exuded a sense of energy and life that belied its size. Roh couldn't help but admire the creature's slender form and long, thin limbs, remarking with a grin, "You're quite the lanky little fellow, aren't you?"
As if retaliating to Roh’s criticism, the wyvern dug its tiny claws into his shoulder.
“Hey! Stop that! Maybe you’re not so innocent after all.” The broodling released its grip and sat up rigidly.
Well this is going well. I better watch what I say. Didn’t realize it was so sensitive.
Roh began to feel his stomach churn, the hunger pangs growing with intensity and ferocity, as were the vibrations from the haptic feedback. They’re actually continuing to hurt?! That’s not right is it? The sensations have felt strong, even uncomfortable, but never actually painful. Maybe this hunger is affecting my thinking?
The overall pain across his lower abdomen now concentrated at the center of his back. This pain feels… external? Like a sharp prong pressed against my back. But before he could move his hand to assess what was causing the feeling, came a voice from behind him. “Don’t you dare make another move! Not unless you want me to skewer you with my Sai.”
