I received a text regarding on doing this specific mission, this afternoon. According to it, we have to kill a certain enemy and he is now heading to the north. We are summoned to kill a big fish.
The people responsible for chasing is long out. I do not want to step out of my room.
I had no intention to do it.
Yet, I am now heading towards north riding my motorcycle, to do the chasing too.
I received a mail after a minute of my decision to not go, and in that, is a picture where German is casually feeding the dog, he is on his house, and infront of the camera is a sharp knife.
I am not a fool to not understand that. It is a warning for me. Perhaps he knows I am not obeying his commands.
If Luther can go this far, I am troubled about what he might actually bring me sooner.
What happened to our relationship is still a mystery to me. I am neglected with the truth behind it. All I know is that, after that night, my parents were gone. All gone. And he is suddenly treating me like nothing.
I left my motorcycle in a trusted establishment.
A majestic ship is in my front now and it is currently boarding passengers. The view of the port welcomed me.
The message said the enemy is now traveling by the sea, north.
I removed my leather jacket and walked towards the one who is responsible for tickets checking. I have no ticket but I have ATMs and cold cash in my wallet.
And I know how to make him allow me to pass by without it. I purposedly wore a tight tube that and short skirts for this.
It is good that I am wearing sunglasses to cover my eyes or the people would know how dark my eyes are. They are obviously checking me out. I am yet far but the man who checks the ticket is already gawking at me. He won't know I am watching him for my sunglass is blocking him of my eyes.
Some 'nice' guys allowed me to be in the line first. And I am successfully pulling out my innocent type character, saying thank you's to them.
I feel disgusted doing it, but there is no other thing to do it. It is by using their weakness, that's luckily my strength. I can't just let my guns and swords do the talking, there are too many innocent people here.
I reached the front fast and now the man is pretending to be serious with his responsibility. He pretended to look at his phone and not at me.
"Where is your ticket?" he sounded like an old uncle.
I saw how he secretly take a peek at my chest.
Oh, I just want to poke those eyeballs out.
But I need to act based on my plan. I pretended to look at my wallet and made it appear that I lost it. I fakely rummaged my luggage to look for it.
"Omg. I am so sorry. I think I forgot my ticket at home. I traveled for an hour to get in here and now it looks like I had to go back again," I lamented, nailing it with a girly voice I sound like during my childhood.
And a pout to top it all.
So disgusting.
"No, it's fine. You don't need to go back. We can fix this. I can make a way,"
His dirty agenda is obvious now, especially when he smiled wider than usual. I noticed he also have a golden tooth.
I wanted to just punch him right now and let that tooth fly in the air, but in contrast, I still acted like a poor troubled woman fanning my face with my hand.
"I can just have your number for that favor,"
I acted as if I am delighted at that. I bowed shyly and smiled fakely grateful at him.
Number your ass.
"It is 09xxxxxxx" I immediately said.
He waved his phone at me before he moved out of the way with an unfaltering smile painted on his lips.
German will have a text mate now.
I plastered a blank expression as soon as he cannot see my face.
Opportunist.
Upon entering, I am welcomed by warm employees in their yellow and royal blue uniforms. Boys are wearing slacks and formal shirts, while girls are wearing a pencil skirt and their uniform shirts.
I am back to my old form so I just passed people and think that they don't exist in my world.
The only information given to me is his name and his cousin's name. So, I still need to know what he looks like and what room did he take on this ship. I directed at the front desk for that matter.
The receptionist on the front desk is already looking at me. I looked back at her. I am so sure she is staring more than usual.
"I am Mr. Relialente's cousin, my name is Jane. He told me to follow after him but I forgot to ask about his room number," I casually explained.
She paused for a while, then smiled at me politely again.
"Do you have any evidences or any text that says about it, Ma'am? We needed it for the verification of the privacy of our guests. And we will also need your identification card to confirm it,"
I gave them another phone which has the fake texts and evidences. I also gave them a fake id that I've prepared this morning. I made sure that they won't see any hole in it.
The receptionist only looked at my id, disregarding my phone. She lift her eyes on me and smiled again.
"His room is on the third floor ma'am, room 105. We are happy that you availed our services. Thank you and have a happy ride!" she said and wore a flower necklace on me.
That was easier than I thought.
I removed the necklace and threw it away on a nearby trashcan. I'm not here to have a happy ride. And I don't like her.
I continued walking, and I am now seeing familiar faces scattered on the ship. I even saw Vien in the longue, wearing a flowy dress, talking to someone I know she only met today.
They are here.
I roamed my eyes more. The lights, the colors, and the food look really accommodating. The grandest of this ship is very impressive.
I entered the elevator to reach the third floor faster. I positioned myself at the far corner as people kept coming in. I can smell alcohol, mints, and all the other things they might have consumed.
The door finally opened and I immediately walked out of it.
This floor is unexpectedly quiet, aside from the couple I passed by. I trailed the alley, carefully observing movements. There are no persons outside.
That is odd.
I finally reached the room, I tried to twist it and I am shocked when it immediately opened.
The room is empty.
This is not good.
Suddenly all the other rooms opened in unison. Men in suits are suddenly going out. My eyes peeked on the inside of the other rooms and I saw some dead bodies there.
I even saw a woman out of her clothes looking directly at my eyes. The uniform of this ship's employees is scattered and torn in parts on the floor. Blood is flowing from her body. I read the word 'help' from her lips before her eyes closed.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
I lifted my eyes on the man who is standing outside the door. He smiled evilly at me. I was about to move to attack him, but I stopped mid-step.
"Is she there already?" a voice from a walkie-talkie echoed.
That voice is so familiar, I couldn't just forget the voices of those who I recently interacted with.
It is that receptionist's voice.
So that is why she made me pass easy. I thought she is just one of those innocent ones that are immediately fooled by fake evidences. She did great acting pretending like one.
It is true that pretension is an easier way to catch an enemy.
But I am not their ordinary enemy to be caught easily like that though.
I entered and closed the door immediately when they fired me.
I locked it and it is good that this ship is made of not easily destroyed doors. I immediately placed my luggage on the bed and opened it. The guns, knives, and swords are presented to me. I grabbed three guns and clipped them on my outfit and body. I also got a knife and inserted it on my waist.
There is no way I can beat them going out through that door, where they are now expecting me to come out. I am sure their guns will be immediately pointed at me.
I am not stupid to think that I am invincible to pass that.
The door is already full of gunshots so I have to move quickly. I pushed my luggage under the bed fast. I grabbed a vase in the cabinet, broke it to the glass window, and hung myself on its corner. Balancing and carrying my weight with my wounded hands.
I glanced below me.
The sea is dark and ready to eat me once I made a mistake reaching other windows to hang on so I had to be precise in my moves. I alternately cling to the other windows hardly. I took my time doing it.
My aim is to reach the entrance of the third floor again, where they wouldn't expect me to appear.
I saw a large ship coming towards us.
Is that a good or bad news?
Either way, I shouldn't take my time dwelling in that, my shoulders are aching hanging in here.
I carefully glanced at any possible threat before I jumped through the window and shocked them with the guns I am holding in both hands.
I firstly shoot the man who made the first eye contact with me. Followed by the one who maniacally smiled earlier at me. And so on.
I made sure I shot the second one a lot of times. He deserves that.
Dead bodies are already on the ground. I waited for anyone to come out but it looks like they are not here with me now.
I looked below when I hear shouts, shots, and cries for help. I saw how the once celebrating people transform into ones that needs the running. Some are held as hostages. Some are killed. Some jumped off the ship.
This is not a great place for this. They should have waited until he reaches the north and attack him there. By that, we wouldn't involve this much people!
I immediately ran to the elevator to save those who I can save from being killed. But as soon as it opened, I saw Rex with Vien holding a captive.
"Did you find him?" Vien asked me, looking at the scenario behind me.
Rex also did the same. The captive looks greatly hurt but I couldn't ignore the smile on his lips.
"He is not here. They are fooling us," I announced, looking at the captive.
Rex immediately shots him on the head. He fell to the floor, fighting for his ending life.
Now, where's the smile? Your loyalty ended your life.
"You are a liar," Vien said, pertaining to the fallen man on the floor.
I also shot him in his chest because I feel so tired of these loyal liars.
Rex looked at me because of my follow-up shot.
I glared at him.
What now?
I entered the elevator and pressed the fourth floor.
"You are rude," he remarked.
"You are violent," I remarked back.
Vien laughed echoed in the elevator.
"Aren't we all are?" she said and we agreed with her in silence.
The door opened and we were welcomed by a serious scenario on the deck. There are four persons in there. One large man, a woman my age, the fake receptionist, and a teenage boy as their hostage.
The fake receptionist grabbed the boy on his collar harshly.
"It is nice to see that you are finally here, Jane."
I only stared at her boredly.
Is she is not done pretending to be a warm courteous receptionist? Now I am seeing how she sucks at that.
Receptionists do not point guns at their customers. Her smile is also overdone.
"or I mean... Aesha."
I do not see the reason for all these lame introductions and greetings everytime I am meeting with my enemies. Besides, what is the use of greeting your enemy when both parties are up to kill each other afterwards?
"Hi bitch," Vien greeted on my behalf, and I saw how she purposely blew a gum from her mouth to reach the other woman's shoe.
That woman is immediately agitated and is to point her gun at us but the fake receptionist stopped the woman with her arms.
"Why don't we do things properly and fix it with a good talk," she said looking at us.
Good talk from a bad one. Should I be fooled?
She is tracing the boy's neck with her gun, though I am aware that she is carefully observing any possible attack from us.
"I know you are not on the proper terms with your father," she said which caught my attention.
I focused my attention on her. That gossip also reached her? Then I must be so famous to be the talk of the town. Should I be happy with that news?
"And that you are… undoubtedly angry at him,"
That is right. Good thing that they got the right ones.
"We can offer you a better deal. Be with us and let us ruin your father together," she continued, now negotiating with me.
A smile formed on my lips and it delighted her. I moved my neck to exercise it a bit.
"That sounds like a good idea," I responded, not tearing my eyes at her.
"What?" Vien uttered behind but I ignored her.
I walked to get near her and dropped the two guns at my hold. The guns fell on the floor. She looked at the gun that is clipped on my leg, I also removed it and throw it infront of her. Now I am fully out of guns.
She smiled, immediately amazed by it.
"Wow. I didn't expect you to be this amendable. Don't you care about the mafia your father built?"
I placed myself in front of her. I moved when she moved on the side again. I made sure we are now in the same position, but on adjacent sides.
She is busy grinning at my easy submission, so she failed to notice what I am doing.
"I am only forced to it. So why would I care about the mafia and the people in it?" I announced, making sure to trigger someone.
I sense Vien aim her gun on my head swiftly and I quickly dodged the shot. It hitted the fake receptionist's head.
The girl is that dedicated to kill me. I would be dead if only I didn't dodge.
She is a hot-tempered teen.
And somehow inconsiderate.
The boy the receptionist is holding, looks deeply terrified at the sight of it. He immediately threw himself fast into the ocean. I almost had him safe, why does he have to jump now?
Irritating.
I turned my head to the two. Vien looks so offended at me now. And Rex is simply giving me serious eyes. I only stared back at them with my usual expression.
Don't tell me they are expecting something from me already?
They are this hopeful?
No one should hope for me. I'll just end up disappointing them.
I faced the deep sea, took a deep breath, and jumped to meet it. The impact of my fall from the fourth floor hurt my eyes. I scanned the water immediately to find the boy, but I couldn't see him immediately. I swimmed more and swimmed fast when I saw him drowning a bit far from where I am.
Why is he that far already?
My dress code is not so suitable for this kind of event. The short leather skirt is slowing the movements of my legs!
I still executed a quick swim to reach him and I carried him until I saw an entrance to the ship again. I laid him on the floor and pumped and pumped his chest, after minutes he coughed. He opened his eyes slowly while I am busy catching my breath.
"Can you stand? Let's go," I said and helped him get on his feet, even if he didn't utter a single approval.
This place isn't safe for him.
We are busy walking when Remus suddenly appeared in front of us. His gun is pointed at us.
I brought the boy behind me fast, shielding him from this mad man.
He may have heard my betrayal from Vien and Rex that he wants to immediately punish me for it, by killing someone I saved. They are really fond of this kind of game.
Threatening to kill someone I just want to normally live.
"I am the one who said something about the mafia. Free the boy, he is not involved in this,"
He looked at me, irritated at my stubbornness again.
"He is not involved with it?" he raised a brow at me, questioning my awareness of things.
Is he belittling me again? Because it seems like it.
I saw how his eyes focus more on the boy behind me, ignoring me now. He moved his hand again, to point at the boy better.
"Move." he ordered using his now inconsiderate state.
I didn't.
I think I stepped on his ego for how many times, that he is this angry looking at me now. Bad news, I am not scared a bit.
"I told you to move," he repeated but I stayed in my place.
The boy is already holding my arm.
Why do he need to point his gun at the boy?
It should be at me, stupid!
Suddenly, everything went out of my hand. He strided fast, even before I notice something nearing my neck. He pushed me immediately on the side with force and I watch the syringe with a blue liquid flew together with me, in another direction. I felt a sharp pain in my waist because of the unstable fall.
I immediately turned to them and saw them, pointing guns at each other.
The once scared boy I just risked my life for is now arrogantly grinning at me.
Remus is right. I am really not aware of what I am shielding.
"She still got a soft spot. I am afraid it could cause her life the next time," he said, mocking Remus on the face.
Remus clenched her jaw hearing him, and I am only seeing rage in his eyes.
"I do not care a bit," he uttered, looking directly into the boy's eyes.
Disappointment suffocated me. It is not my first time hearing or feeling someone not caring about my life. And it sucks that even with those words I keep telling myself every day and everytime I am alone, that I do not need anyone to care about me because I have me, it still unjustly hurts me.
No matter what I've become, it is not freaking right.
I rose in my position, disregarding my aching waist and upper body. I grabbed a gun on the floor and turned my back at them.
If they wanted to kill each other right now, then may they both die.
I do not care a bit too.
But before I walk away, someone fired. It didn't stop my steps though, because it only reached my shoulders.
I only held my shoulders tight to somehow put a stop to its bleeding.
Someone shot again, but I didn't feel anything touch me. I walked out continuously until I felt the railings stop me.
The wind caressed me. I looked down on the welcoming sea and it looked so warm in there. I looked at my injured arms and now bleeding shoulders.
How long can my body swim in there? Can it wash away all my worries?
German will surely be angry at me for this.
No.
German will really be angry at my thoughts now.
I closed my eyes, feeling the cold night, preparing for a careless dive, but just when I am about to jump, someone pulled me firmly on my arms and forcedly turned me back, out of the tricky sea.
The wind that's caressing me earlier is now playing on someone's hair now. My eyes adjusted on the lights above and the darkness of the figure holding me. The shadow he is bringing me is dominating and covering the light above. I traced his now clenching jaw, red ears, and grimed lips. I also traced the veins of the arm that is holding me.
He looks like a masterpiece sculpted in the dark.
So dominating, so rough.
"What are you planning to do?" he is literally growling at me but aside from that, why is his voice laced with fear?
That cold voice.
The trance I am having earlier broke. I turned my head slowly on the tricky sea and the small light from the far port.
I. Won't. Survive. That.
I doubt if I can even reach the middle of it.
He held my jaw to make me face him again. His eyes are unsteadily looking at me now. It looks like he was nervous about something.
This is Remus in front.
So why am I am seeing these emotions?
