A taste

Last night I've let all my emotion take over me. And that would be the last time I'll ever let him turn me like that.

I'm on my feet now, walking towards the mansion to attend the event. Tonight, I am walking head high with no signs of weakness from yesterday and for all the other tomorrow.

This time my mask will not tear off.

As usual, eyes are watching me, but this time it is mixed with amusements and shock of how I look like right now.

I cutted my hair short, painted my nails red, and I wore the skimpiest dress I've ever have, and a pair of killer heels.

Today is the day of the son of the mafia's top business partner and they are celebrating it in the mansion.

But I seem to effortlessly steal the spotlight of the event again.

I looked around the venue and saw German sitting together with familiar people. The mansion is so busy accommodating this number of guests.

His eyes found mine too and I walked towards the table he is in and seated just beside him.

He never falters to reserve a seat for me everytime he is expecting me to appear at an event.

Stoic and with no intention of smiling, I let them do the staring as long as they want.

I heard German clear his throat and I turned my gaze towards him to acknowledge his presence. He is wearing his usual clothes and I felt his cold machine gun just under the table when I moved my feet to sit earlier.

"This is Aesha Roxinne Flinn, Luther's daughter," he introduced me towards the group and I raise my brow at him pertaining to the last word he just used.

I wasn't the daughter of anyone except my mother.

Someone extends her hand on me and I remembered her as the wife of the mafia's business partner. I held her hand for a moment and let go of it immediately when I felt a familial warmth.

"It was nice meeting you. I'm Rebecca," she said and gave me a warm smile.

Some familiar smile. I've also known such a warm smile before.

But I cannot witness that anymore.

I nodded at her and she looked at me with amusement in her eyes. I should be smiling and giving back the warmth she is radiating but I didn't. Or let me say I can't.

I can only give a nod.

Her husband also gave me a short nod and proceeded to watch the grandest of the venue and the event.

The crowd suddenly grew silent when Luther appeared above the stairs, together with another man, who has a lady holding on his arm.

It is time for the welcoming of the guests again.

He looked untroubled from anything.

I bet he had a good sleep last night.

It wasn't the time to raise a glass yet but I raise it, making Luther look at me.

And yes, I am annoying him.

Just a little to get back at him about last night.

"He hasn't called for a toast yet" German, aware of my actions, whispered at me, but I just shrugged my shoulders and drink the wine in one shot.

I can sense Rebecca watching me, so I snatched German's wine and raise it to her instead.

I saw her smile at me again, but I only looked at her blankly.

I turned to look back at the stars shining brightly above the stairs tonight. But this time, it wasn't Luther's eyes that were fixed on me, it was the other man's cold eyes jarring onto me.

I returned his cold stare with my usual cold eyes.

Wondering what the man is looking at, the girl holding in his arms turns to look at me and I maintained my usual poker face as I read some emotions in her eyes.

What a lovesick girl.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, what a nice evening it is, isn't it ?" then he paused to wander his eyes at our table, acknowledging Victor's presence.

I didn't even blink the moment his eyes meet mine.

This is no way I will back down for him tonight.

He's caused me a lot last night, this night will not be the same for him.

"It has been a long day since Victor has been our mafia's partner, but tonight is extra special because this man right here, will finally be declaring his position to lead her father's business together with our dear mafia,"

He smiled like a proud man declaring that. He glanced at the man on his side who is currently surveying everything below him with a dominating aura I couldn't stand.

Claps filled the air and I am growing sick at the very moment of it.

With all the blabberings I am not interested in, I rose on my seat and proceeded to walk outside the mansion, but before it, I snatched a bottle of wine from the table.

Leaving the celebrating people inside.

I am not slightly interested in the formality and reason of the event. All these events are just for the showoff.

I walked and welcomed myself to the small gate again.

With fresh air enveloping my system, I walked past my motorcycle and proceeded to the bench standing in the middle of the garden, which is surrounded by grasses.

A single light was near the bench so it wasn't absolutely dark here. But also not too bright, so stargazing is definitely beautifully done here.

If only life would allow me to stargaze all the nights of my life, with nothing to worry, but a rain pouring, to stop me from witnessing the brightness of each star.

But it won't allow me.

I sat, removed my heels, and placed them down.

Cold wind rushed freely on the open place and my body felt it but I refuse to hug myself.

I let myself enjoy the coldness of the night and the peacefulness it gives my soul.

I looked up and saw the stars shining even with the darkness surrounding them.

Will I ever shine like those stars above or continue to be the darkness that's surrounding them, I wonder?

I opened the wine and drank directly from it continuously.

I've spent minutes drinking, sitting, and feeding my eyes with the view before I decided to proceed to the restroom before going back to the mansion.

Someone is there though. It is the woman, from earlier, who is clasping her body with that man.

I ignored her brief moment of staring at me and faced the mirror to fix my hair a little. She continued retouching her makeup and I left her alone there.

I took my steps as I walk back at the table. I was welcomed again by heads turning and gossiping.

They were too unimportant for me to be bothered though.

"I've never seen such a beautiful woman, Luther. You sure have given the world an eyeful blessing. " I heard Rebecca say to Luther, who is now here joining the table together with the other man.

My father reply something in return but I couldn't hear it from the distance. Rebecca's voice is just a bit too loud for me to hear it.

And it's not like I want to hear what he just said. For sure, he is again up to stain my name.

And I thought I felt a blank gaze fixed on me, but I guess it was not on me, because suddenly the woman walked past me and seated just beside the man, holding him in his thigh.

"Renesmee? You looked so great every time I see you" Luther praised her with a knowing smile he couldn't even give me.

Renesmee, deeply flattered, smiled and took a glimpse of me as I sit beside German.

"You are always so kind to me Mr. Luther. I can sometimes feel that you are treating me as a daughter," she said and giggled in her seat.

It is the first time I heard her voice but I immediately wanted to pull her tongue out all of a sudden.

Why is that?

I lasted on my seat with their boring topic through drinking wine when German suddenly excused himself. And I, having no genuine companion left, decided to follow him— not excusing myself from the crowd.

He brought his machine gun with him so he is definitely going home now.

"You should get home by now Miss," he said when we reached his monster car. I saw him inspect me and is trying to read me so I shut myself down.

"Are you doing fine? " he added which made me a little off-guard.

I forgot he became a witness of my pitiful self again last night.

I do not want to dwell on that anymore. Especially not tonight.

I squeezed his muscled shoulder lightly.

"Yeah," I said a little tipsy, and waved my hand as I turn back to follow his order.

I do not have a high tolerance for drinking so even with just drinking wine I can definitely get drunk.

But I am not drunk now, just tipsy. My tolerance is not too low to be beaten immediately, but it isn't too high either to not have an effect on my body.

Their guns cannot beat me— but alcohol can.

Isn't that funny?

I reached for the small gate again and drove my motorcycle fast out of the mansion.

I forgot my helmet with my last encounter with those shits and I haven't had time looking for one.

I haven't noticed whether German has left the mansion or not.

I am in the middle of the dark road when I suddenly notice a speeding sports car behind me.

Alerted that it might be one of those shits again, I reached my speed limit again to play with them for a while.

Fool. You cannot beat me even with the wine traveling in my system.

Or that's what I thought.

He is a better driver than me.

The car was suddenly advancing and I immediately step on my break when it suddenly made a drastic turn in the middle of the road, almost making me crash on it.

The wine seemed to take a toll on me and I blink when the man suddenly got off the car and walked fast to grab me by the hair.

And smelled my neck.

What the hell.

I was about to hit him hard but he immediately prisoned my hands with his other hand. I felt him insert the other hand on my dress, making my panties exposed.

He pressed his hand on my legs and I felt him touch the fabric of my undergarment. I can feel his warm hand pressing more on my legs.

I gasped, and in my horror, he devoured my lips like it was his. He suddenly sucked my tongue and maneuver his lips on me like it is a freaking drug. He breathed a bit and returned to meet my lips again, licking it like a thirsty man, before moving to my ears.

"I just want a taste" his voice lingered on my head and I was too shocked to even respond when suddenly he removed his hands on me and immediately walked into his car, leaving me speechless.

I felt very exposed.

And what the heck Flinn?
