The morning after the Eye of Cthulhu was felled, a dryad arrived. This dryad came bearing news of the corruption spreading throughout the lands, saying that if measures are not taken to prevent its spread then the world as we know it shall be doomed. Conveniently, the dryad offered a solution: purification powder, sold only by her for the low low price of 75 copper.
Upon hearing of all the good the slimy pals were doing for the town, she convinced our Squire Slime to escort her to the border of the corruption, where she would use her powers to reverse the spread. The town mostly saw this as an effort to prove she wasn’t all talk in order to scam more people into buying her special powder. That is, the town sans the slimes.
The Squire Slime geared up and got ready to go following a good night’s rest. Or it would have, if it wasn’t always geared up and ready to go. So departed the Squire Slime and the Dryad on their journey to save the world.
After traveling far, they reached the purple area that stank of rot, decay, and death. The land around them was vile, not even close to fit for human habitation. Not long after arriving, the Dryad began to channel her magic. While she was doing that, a corrupted entity known as an Eater of Souls approached the duo. While the anti-corruptive magic was damaging it, it was not close to fast enough to prevent it from approaching. That’s where the Squire Slime came in: wielding its sword, it tore through the body of the Eater of Souls in one strike, allowing it to finally rest in pieces.
The grass nearby slowly got greener, as the Dryad worked her magic. A while later, the Dryad proclaimed that that area is complete, and moved on to the next after setting down a wall of sunflowers to prevent the newly cleared area from getting recorrupted.

The next area is not much different, considering that it is very close by. Because the area purified by the Dryad’s magic is circular, to thoroughly cleanse the area some overlap is inevitable. Luckily, that doesn’t matter, because the expended time and energy is based more on the quantity of corrupt energy in the area. The Dryad continued cleansing the border and placing sunflowers, and our Squire Slime continued defending her as she did so. After a while of doing so, they encountered another manner of corrupted creature: a Devourer. The first sign the lengthy worm was approaching was the rumbling of the earth. Then, from the ground, can first a purple head with a creepy eye, then a long purple body. It dove back into the ground after the duo dodged, and the tail followed into the ground. Brandishing the copper shortsword, the Squire Slime prepared to turn this Devourer into multiple significantly smaller worm fragments.
The slime jumped to the side just as the oversized worm came out of the ground behind it. With quick reflexes, our Squire Slime immediately swung its sword down and onto the Devourer, barely cutting into the skin. Although the immediate result was a small cut, because of the worm’s high speed it continued skinning itself on the sword, taking a large amount of damage. However, this amount of damage was not enough to kill it, and the Devourer reinforced the exposed portion of its body as it went underground. The next time it resurfaced, it hadn’t learned anything, allowing for the Squire Slime to once more take off a large portion of the worm’s skin, this time managing to stab through the body and take it out.
Time went by with more enemies approaching and getting slaughtered, and the duo moving to the next area and placing sunflowers for a few more hours. Afterwards, it was getting close to night, so the two of them headed back to town.
