The Slime Kingdom. Ruling over it was a tyrannical king, one who cared only about his own image and stomach. A king who feasted, surrounded by famine all around. A king who increased taxes to fund buying more food even as the peasants starved. A king who wouldn’t even show himself if a mass slaughter of slimes occurred within his borders. A king who was not worthy of being a king. A king who was not worthy of fealty. A king, who was barely a king at all. A king, who must be replaced, or it would be a violation of the very oaths the Squire Slime made to this kingdom.
That is, if it made oaths. Driven by a sort of instinct coming not from within, but from the slime’s very title as a Squire, it felt to overthrow this tyrannical king. As it journeyed mostly aimlessly to confront the king, it almost had an epiphany: what if it drew the Slime King out instead. Unfortunately, it was still not capable of such high-level reasoning, so it continued onward. Long later, it chanced upon this decadent king of slimes. One epic fight scene later, the sad excuse for a ruler lay bleeding out on the ground. As our Squire Slime failed to contemplate regicide and what it had just done, it was approached by a timid-looking slime. A few exchanges of incomprehensible noises later, they set off.

After being led by the new slime pal, the Nerdy Slime, they eventually arrived at the camp site where the King Slime nested on its latest excursion. In it they found a young royal slime: the Slime Prince. This slime accompanied them as they bounded around, now with slightly more ability to have a care in the world. As they continued walking, they eventually encounter a town of human. The Nerdy Slime managed to trick the humans into letting the trio reside within that town, in exchange for helping with odd jobs.
