*Rumble* *Rumble* *Rumble*

"Is that my stomach?"

*Peep* *Peep* *Peep*

"Well, if everyone else is getting up, I might as well too."

*Crack* *Boom*

"That can't be good… Hey, stop shoving, it's getting old!"

Pop crack clatter clatter

Little did the birdies know, a sheet of ice broke off high above the mountain and with it followed an enormous amount of snow and rock. There was little time for anyone to brace themselves.

"I'm falling! Someone save me!"

And down they all went.

The avalanche had kicked up beneath the nest like a wave and took it for a wild ride. The hatchlings were sent flying out of the nest in panic as they descended the mountain, except for one little runt who hunkered down with all their might.

"I don't know if I can hold on for much longer!"

*Smack*

The nest suddenly collided with a rock and launched all of its contents into a canopy of pine needles.

"I'm going to die, nooo!"

"Great, now can I get some arms to go with that, or maybe some wings like a real bird?"

Just as our adventure was trying to dislodge himself from a corpse, a band of miniature blue people with knapsacks stumbled upon him. They all stopped and stared at him in shock.

"Uh, who's touching me right now, this feels weird."

Before our rock friend knew it, he was hoisted up and carried off by a rambunctious group of overjoyed purple people.

"This is bad…"

The group continued to carry their prize deeper into the woods for a couple of hours until they finally reached the center of a town containing mushroom-like houses.

"Finally, they're setting me down. I think this is my chance to make a break for-"

In that instance, a single hand laid flat on the rock and said, "Blessed you and Mother Musha for honoring us with your presence."

"Uhhh, you're welcome. Wait, who are you?!"

More feet shuffled closer and the voice stated, "I am Papa Foo, and I'm the elder of our village."

“Okay, cool. It was nice of you and your people to rescue me. Eh hem, I don't want to trouble you anymore than necessary, but is there any chance that you could help me out here?"

Papa Foo rested his chest on our rock companion and said, "Yes, of course, we plan to help you meet our sacred Mother Musha soon."

"Hm, she sounds pretty wise. Sooo, when do I get to meet her?"

"As soon as we collect a star coal to start our cooking fire."

"Oh, what are we cooking? I'm getting a little hungry myself."

Papa Foo gently licked the soft rock and said, "Why you of course."
