Making it rain

Making it rain

After logging back in he was back in the alley where he had left the magic academy and before he decided what guild to do next. he knew he needed two things in the next couple of weeks the first was to increase his stats and make equipment but more importantly bag space.

The game had a weird system some items if they were small could be grouped larger items couldn't the closest Spencer could figure they were similar to the archaic Diablo games but instead of a 2D layout, it was the 3D layout. Meaning that at most spencer could carry one set of gear for most that were enough why would you need more than one set of armor which you would wear.

There were two solutions to this either get a Merchant and have them follow or receive a merchant bag from the Merchant guild and the only way to do that would be to help them generate a ton of money over the platinum mark. Hence why it was difficult to do one would have to know where a war would occur a year in the future. Considering there had only been a couple hundred Beta testers that had entered mostly none of them had thought about another huge opportunity that they could offer.

Besides making a wiki or guide, everyone thought the AI’s were simple code bunch of morons really altho not many really looked at how they made the AI’s which would surprise most. Walking into the large guild it was large like the Mages guild however instead of a magical feeling it felt like a bank a giant gold tinged bank. Walking towards a counter he saw many different types of merchants the majority looked like greased up pigs or money grubbing geezers some of the women were using their femininity against the customers and spencer couldn’t hold it against them considering he would use his looks to sell or buy things if it came down to it. Finally, he saw someone he knew

“Hey old man”

“Oh Mr nameless”

“Yeah who do I go to sell info to”

“Any of us here can do it”

“Hmmm but it's worth multi-platinum”

“In that case, I would be happy to deal with you”

At this point, all the merchants were looking at him  Multi-platinum deals were no joke they could in effect earn more than an entire country before expenses one could under certain circumstances buy countries.

“You sure I want A merchant's bag and some money”

“If it’s as good as you say I’ll arrange for it”

The two quickly went to a back room to talk about the deal.

“Before I talk I want a contract stating that If the info is good you’ll give me what I want”

“What is the total you want?”

“The bag 2 Gold, 999 silver, 99 Nickles, 99coppers”

“Well that's a weird number but I can do that”

After that, they signed a contract.

“So you have heard about Travellers by now right.”

“If that's all”

“What I mean is that the total here are just here to make sure the rest don’t die”

“Rest?”

“Think of this as some kingdom far away we sent some people that if they die we can recover with little casualties”

“K so how will I make money

“I figured you were smart Ok so what only 30 or so Travelers have appeared here so far probably less. However, there are over 2 billion people waiting to come here so far, divided between the 5 worlds that are 400 million-ish each”

“400 billion?!?”

“Yes and I can give you the date you can expect them good deal right”

“If each spends a nickel that's……. 40 platinum”

“And some of these people will have money to buy your currency weaning they will spend silvers or even gold”

“Wait if even 1% spends a silver that's …… 40 Platinum”

“As I said a good deal”

“I'll say with this I could buy a few countries or an entire continent”

“There are only two problems”

“O and that would be?”

“First these people don’t want to stay here they want to sprint through and see the world so the best options are to either have a restaurant or sell gear, secondly you can't possibly deal with that volume”

“True enough If I buy that much people will get suspicious and the costs”

“So I’ll make you another deal bring the merchant that could bring that inI sign the same contract as I signed with you with a caveat”

“And that would be?”

“You get a percent of what they make as this is your info but I have the dates left to give”

“Smart kid this info is worth what you asked but the dates are equally worth it wait here”

After around half an hour a voluptuous Elf woman came in Instead of the usual teen or young adult look elves generally had she was a woman curvy if spencer was normal he’d have found it hard to talk wit no blood left in his head.

The elf’s cold eyes glared at him for wasting her time

“Hey old man are you sure she’s the one you want to do this with she doesn't seem interested but what’s 80 Platinum to elves”

“Young human did you say 80 Platinum. Not gold and no 1 platinum”

“Well that’s what the old man calculated could be more tho”

“I see so what is the information”

“First thing same as him sign a contract 1 merchant bag 2 gold 999 silver 99 nickels and 99 coppers If the info is good plus 20 percent of what you make goes to him”

“And why would I do that?”

“Basically he owns the first half of the info which is worth at least a platinum so my contract is complete there. This is for the dates so you have to buy his info as well for 20% of 79 Platinum which is what 15 so you still earn 63 platinum”

“I see your point kid but that's without inputs and moving merchandise”

“We also didn’t calculate for all members. But let me put it this way even if your profit is half of your total that's 30 Platinum”

“Miss Greenwood If I may this would involve for the most part low-end goods and high volume which should pose no problem”

“John you better know what you're doing”

With that, she signed the contract

And Spenser explained the first half of the contract and the elf’s forest colored eyes had changed into a gold color or it could be his imagination.

“Now as for the dates the first wave will be in 70 ish days due to the 10 times time difference it could be up to 80 but that's beside the point. That will be the Alpha group only around 20,000 people will be in that so 4,000 here”the rest will come 140 days after “

“May I ask why such a large time delay”

“”I know it looks like a long time but for us, it's in 14 days also this is to make sure everything is working properly so that things don’t break and we could still return home as well as other things”

“So the way I see it I and John have 2 options test the market with the first wave but show our cards or wait for the large group and go in blind”

“Personally go for the first group, part of what I’m supposed to do is help with a guide for new Travelers which we place on a giant wall we call a forum one of these topics is usually where to find gear and food among other things if players know of you and you have lower prices due to buying the supply cheaply when the demand hits you could still undercut them”

The two Merchants stared at him by all rights he was right by the time people figured out what was happening the prices would have skyrocketed and they would make silvers on the copper. This Kid should have been a merchant in his world but he chose not to here.

“Personally I agree with this young one and you john”

“What he says makes sense, but I must ask you why to help  us, even more, there is no benefit to you“

“For now no, but I plan to open an armory in the future and I may want favorable deals on materials for purchase and when I sell”

“Ho ho craftsmen eh”

“A martial artist actually but My gear will be the best in time”

“Such confidence I hope you do well”

“So I'll let you two get to work I have the training to do”

Leaving the room and walking towards the guilds he now had a choice Warrior or thieves guild or train his stats. Any of the three would be useful warriors would increase power Vitality while thieves would increase dex and speed. Or a production skill could train the skills as well as the mage guild showed it could turn him into an ubermensch.

Which one did he want to increase first? With a sigh, he realized he nearly forgot the most important part of martial arts use the opponent's power against themselves Speed and dex it was then. The real question was what would raise them in terms of Dex a bard who played the lute could be useful but that meant learning the lute but that could also be a disguise a tailor could do the same increasing dex that left speed, become a delivery boy?

That would suck but in reality unlike strength running was the only way to increase speed besides equipment and magic. Well unless he could train like his world but that was also mostly sprinting weights squats and flexibility training so stretching. So maybe he should do blacksmithing first train strength working in the forge during the day then do speed training at night

Considering he could make the weights himself and use runes to increase the weight. That also meant he could make body weights. Thinking about it that would be hilarious too. In the middle of the tournament take them off.

Considering it was early morning the forge was just starting up. Walking in was, of course, a dwarf because whoever developed the game figured that's just what they do unfortunately most players thought the same and if they wanted to blacksmith dwarves was it.
