Day 4

“Uwaaa!!!”

Currently, I am running away from a reckless charge of a black giant boar.

The giant boar has a “X” mark on his face. One of his tusks were broken but the length of it is not something that my long sword can battle.

My running speed was fast that I can easily out run the boar when it was not yet recklessly charging earlier but it seems I angered it when I gave him some solid consecutive swings on its plump rack with my wooden katana. Resulting to my current demise.

“S-sorry!!!”

Still running and almost out of breath, I can finally see a clearing.

Past the clearing was a cliff side trapping me between this dead end and the giant boar behind me.

With momentum on my back, I had almost smacked my body against the solid side of the cliff. I dodged it by running along the wall of the cliff with the momentum that supposed to kill me in impact.

But the boar was unable to do so and stunned himself after he collides with the cliff’s side.

Seeing that, I tried to perform a somersault as I strongly kicked the surface of the cliff with one of my feet and kicked the air to regain my standing position.

I readied my wooden sword as I held it high up with both my hands aiming to cleave the stunned boar into two.

Swish*

With G-force at my back, the damage was fatal as the attack connected with the body of the Giant Black Boar, making the Giant Black Boar squeal loudly as his final breath.

Even though the attack was indeed fatal it didn’t have the enough force to split the boar into two. With that, I was quite dejected since I was confident I can make it.

Currently, I was huffing and puffing rapidly due to extreme usage of my stamina leading to exhaustion.

After, a few more seconds mainly thirty seconds.

The boar turned into bubbles which, of course, made me shocked, again and then frustrated since I thought I might be enjoying an eat all you can boar meat festival today.

After the bubble cleared up, something was left behind.

2 giant boar ribs, 1 ivory horn and some metal coins were lying on the ground.

The previous frustration was quickly forgotten right after I saw the giant ribs of the boar ready to be cooked.

I placed the metal coins into the rest inside the small pouch and placed the ivory horn in my rucksack.

As for the giant ribs, they are going to be eaten here and now!

Gathering the necessary items to start a big fire I went back into the forest leaving the two giant ribs alone since there is no way for me to carry such a thing while gathering firewood.

After some long minutes, I came back and what I saw was a group of men, women, children already roasting the meat in a fire!!! No, some was even eating the meat raw!!!

“Hey! Hey! Hey! What do you think you are doing with my Giant Boar Ribs!!!”

I shouted gaining their attention but I was ultimately ignored right after they scanned me from head to toe to found out I was just a little kid from their perspective and continued their activity, eating my food.

This made me irritated.

‘Finally, I have finally found some people to ask but… How dare they eat my hunt!!! I almost died to F****** kill that thing!!!’

My mind was screaming in anger!

“Don’t-Eat-My-FOOOOD!!!”

I yelled as I brandish my sword towards the nearby member of the group and it did connected.

The man went flying toward the bushes back at the forest.

This made the whole lot of them shiver and ran against the wall of the cliff, Cowering and trembling.

“Eh?!”

Now that I looked closely this people has dirty ragged clothing and reeks as if they haven’t taken a bath for a year!

“W-who are you people!”

There is no answer…

“ANSWER ME!!!”

(Despite his child like appearance, his eyes are not like that at all. It was like that of a Dragon glaring at his enemy.)

This made them flinched and trembled even more.

“…Hmmm, no one wants to speak? Then, I won’t give you some of my meat and Instead… I will cut off the hands of each and every one of you for robbery!”

It was just a bluff of course. I am not that inhumane you know, to do things such as cutting hands for robbery.

Hearing that, an Old man which seems to be the leader of the group moved forward quickly and hurriedly prostrate himself before me.

“We are terribly sorry, my lord!!! Please spare our hands!!! We will be nothing if you will take our hands!!! We are really sorry for robbing the meat for ourselves!!! We are but commoners caught up in the war that has left us nothing to eat!!! Please!!! Have Mercy!!!”

The old man was already crying halfway of his statement, something that I hate the most since it make me feel awkward.

Seeing this, I turned my view from the old man into the other members. Their eyes were pleading for their lives nothing like anger or pride was there more like it was fear.

Heaving a really big sigh, I turned back to the old man and said.

“Yeah, Yeah. I understand. At least, I now know your circumstances! But remember this… I may be small but I killed that boar you’ll about to eat! Don’t underestimate me like what you did earlier or you’ll end up with that unlucky guy that flew back to the forest.

Anyway, get that guy back here. He won’t be dead by that strike but he might have some broken bones though.”

All of them were relieved by that and the guy that flew seems to be a retired adventurer that has been living as their head village guard. So there were no broken bones or what so ever. It just that he was so light due to starvation that I made him flew with my untrained strike.

Anyway, I grilled the ribs with their fire which I made even bigger than the previous one. I sliced the meat along the bones of the ribs so that it can be grilled easily.

There were 4 females, 2 males, 1 elder and 3 kids in which 1 where boy and 2 are girls, including the retired adventurer and the old village head. So in total they were 10.

The ribs was really too many even with the existence of the run-away villagers. A third of the ribs was left and was broken into pieces distributing it to others equally including the children.

It was exactly noon when everything finished and was now resting by the clearing.

I decided to talk to the two persons leading this group. So I summoned them to follow me inside the Forest.

“Okay, this distance is okay.”

I said as they turned around to face me.

The village head was the first to speak.

“… …May this old bag of bones ask why you have brought us here?”

“I would like to know what’s happening in this world.”

Hearing this, the adventurer decided to speak.

“You see…, the human kingdoms just started an all out war, the kingdom of Praven, Thull, Fragor, with the small kingdom of Curk being the only one declaring their neutrality. The kingdom of Dwarves was already under the rule of the Praven kingdom. As for the northern barbarians, they are the enemy of all.”

“So I came in a place of turmoil…”

Noticing the meaning of what I just said the adventurer tried to speak but refrained himself to do so.

Seeing that he may know something of my case I quickly bring my situation out.

“Guard Head, what’s your name?”

“My Lord, it is Gregory Hills…”

“Village Head?”

“This old one’s name is Eug Mayflour, My Lord.”

“As for me, I am Hijekata Hayato and I am not from this world.”

The village head was shocked while the guard head was grinning as if his initial guess was spot on.

“Anyway, despite my appearance I am already 18 years old. I came here just two days ago. Spent most of my time making this wooden swords. Then today I killed that annoying boar, Greg flew, Eug prostrated, we roasted and ate the Boar meat and now we are talking.

Now I am f****** trapped in this place without a single knowledge on how to get back and…”

“Okay, Okay. I got your point Kid. I myself came from Earth!!!”

“Eh? What?”

“I came here when I was still thirty five, I went into an adventure to find a way out but… It was pointless. There is no way out until you kill that damned demon lord. Hahaha!!!”

“Then… does that mean…”

“Yeah, kid. We are indeed trapped in here forever since the Demon Lord this time is quite cruel for us summoned heroes. He’s a very cunning, manipulative demon lord I tell you! He is not yet identified and also his base of operations. The rumors said that he is one of the influential icons in this world making it even more difficult to unravel him.”

“So we are actually going to deal with a corrupt official?”

“Hahaha, that was a funny analogy!!! Yeah, we are dealing with a president of a country which turned out to be the underground society’s Godfather and finding this rat will become even harder than putting a triple thread in a needle while being blindfolded.”

The village head was left dumbfounded by our exchange that I can’t help but laugh.

Returning back to the clearing, it was already afternoon and the unforgiving ray of the sun was so hot that staying at the clearing was already unbearable.

I made the villagers enter the forest and lead them to the waterfalls where I have been staying.

The place was large enough to contain 11 persons including me.

Seeing a water resource, they hurriedly drank some water and washed their face and limbs.

4 young women, 1 young man, 1 male adult, 1 male elder, 2 female children and 1 male child.

“Hey, Hayato! I was just wandering if do you have someone you like among them?”

“Brfff* What the heck are you talking about? Sorry, Greg, but I don’t have one though I do found them quite alluring…”

“Technically in this group there is only 2 healthy male in here. And, there were 4 young women over there, and then the female children were almost in the right age for giving birth. If this group wants to survive we need manpower. As for me… I think I am too old for the little mistresses. So say, do you want to marry with one or two or even all of them to repopulate and start another village?”

‘I know, I know what you are trying to say. You are just stating the situation here.’

Well, there is indeed an all out war outside this forest which just started. And, it seems that the neutral kingdom was on the opposite side of this territory and this territory was not yet claimed by anyone. And if it is indeed relatively safe to travel to that kingdom, life there is not sure.

It’s not that I can go back now to Japan, now that the Demon Lord was hiding perfectly while disguising himself as someone else.

We need resources to find that bastard and if that Demon Lord has also an army within this surface society then we might end up fighting with two armies at once which was going to be extremely dangerous.

“I-I’ll think about it!”

I caught myself blushing, then I felt quite troubled by it.

‘Can’t be helped, a male is a male after all!’

Then after that I searched for the other male.

But… to think that male that I was searching for was also a female disguised as a male.

So, technically the only male capable of reproduction here is me.

All the five fires where lit while eating the leftover ribs earlier as we encircle the main pyre.

F*** this is getting more awkward. Need to speak with them tomorrow, especially with Eug.
