Chapter One

THREE YEARS LATER

The plan was set. Now it was time to let Pyrrhia know. Queen Glory was going to tell Pyrrhia her plan to help rebuild Cricket’s tribe. She was chosen, she didn’t know why, but she was chosen. Over the years after Raindance’s stoning, there had been a memorial built fixed with the statue left behind of herself killing her father (it was rather a good moment in history). The memorial was a museum that had a giant stage, which was large enough to host half the tribes.

The idea was, Queen Glory of the Rainwings and Nightwings was going to tell anyone who wanted to know the plan, and then the dragons who wanted to participate in the plan would volunteer and train for the journey, and when they came back, six months or so later, the next set would take their departure.

Today was the day that the dragons in the tribes who wanted to hear the plan would come to the memorial to listen. Glory wanted to make it mandatory to everyone, but Queen Thorn insisted on allowing dragons to come if they wanted to, nothing more.

Glory trotted onto the massive stage and sat down onto a red cushion next to Queen Ruby. Most of the queens were here, and there was a large crowd that had settled in front. The Rain-Nightwing Queen looked around. The floor was a nice, polished hardwood and was reflecting the mangrove trees that the Mudwings have donated to the memorial. There were dark gray curtains that had a hint of gold outlining the hem that hung from the far left and right sides of the roof. Firefly lamps were kept on the grassy seating before the stage, illuminating the ground and ready to glow when the sun set.
