Chapter 10 – Snow and Tears
„What did you say?“
„I said he is still alive; he has a pulse!”

“But how is he alive after all this time?
Just who is he?”
“Woaaahhhh”
Both of them backed off.
That person suddenly began moving.
He tried to push himself up.
But he didn´t had any strength left for that.
“Hey, let me help you.”

He started emitting an ominous energy around him, the two of them did not dare go near him.
He was finally able to push himself up, facing his back to the people.
He kneeled there for about a Five Minutes, not saying a word, just listening to the nature.
I wasn´t able to feel what he felt at that moment, but I was sure I wouldn´t want to feel that feeling he does right now.
He slowly stood up.
He was dressed in black, torn clothes, covered in ash.
His Hands and Arms were covered in something, something like a black miasma, It didn´t had a form, just like a cloud covering his body parts.
But why is his face covered in that too?
Is that a mask?
He slowly turned around, toward us.
It was a sight I wouldn´t wish for anyone to see.
We both fell on our knees in shock, because of what we had seen.
A face in great pain and self-hate looked down on us, as we started crawling backwards.
His Eyes were wide just as his mouth screaming in pain.
Black Tears streaming out of his eyes.
Two horns growing out of his forehead, his whole face was covered in what seemed like black flames, darkening the entire area.
“-aa…aaa. A MONSTER!”
“RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!”

Both ran away, his minds possessed by fear.
As the Person looked at the people running away, he seemed kind of sad.
Looking at his hand covered in darkness.
He continued standing there still looking at his hand for an hour.

As time passed the sun was about to set.
Then he investigated the far distance and began walking slowly towards the sunset.

Three months later near the capital of Valandor.
“We are soon going to reach the capital of Valandor, my lady.”
A fancy carriage in white and blue on a broad road.

The wagon was driven by an old man, with a short black beard and hairs, light blue eyes.
He is wearing suitable clothing for a butler, a black jacket and black jeans.
A voice from inside the carriage called out.

“So, I ended up coming back to this place after such a long time…”
“We are going to arrive in about 2 hours, my lady”
“…”
A young lady sitting in the carriage, with a cold gaze on her face.
They had hair as white as newly fallen snow, with dead silver eyes.
Despite her beautiful appearance she had an emotionless face, as if nothing in the world could bother her.

The way to the Capital city Eryndor was smooth until it happened…
“WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!”
The whole carriage began shaking as it sped up.
What happened?
She thought to herself.
She looked outside, but she was not expecting to see something like this.
There were multiple people running away from something.
“Why are there running?”
The Butler mentioned shortly.
“They look like warriors, be careful!
But why are they running away, my lady--?”
The warriors were already running past the carriage, aiming to reach the capital.
“Hey why are you running away?”
The butler asked a warrior.
“YOU NEED TO RUN AWAY NOW, THAT IS NO NORMAL BEING, THAT IS A MONSTER!!”
“AHHHH”
The warriors continued running away.
The Girl inside the carriage stepped outside.
“Be careful, it could be dangerous outside.”
The Butler climbed down the carriage, standing next to the lady.
They both investigated the distance, but nothing was there.
“There is nothing there, --”
And just as he said it appeared.
He only blinked for less than a second and something had appeared before them, slowly walking towards them on the road.
The horses bound to the carriage became restless and nervous, before the presence of that creature.
The butler began shivering in fear.
His whole body was shaking, before the Monster in front of him, that was covered in darkness.
Fear ran down his spine as he looked at that Monster.
The Monster had been slowly walking towards them, with his head looking at the ground, them not being able to see his face, until…
“Why did it stop?”
The butler asked in fear.
The Monster had suddenly stopped walking as he got as near as 20 feet in front of them.
Lifting his head, the butlers’ eyes met with the face of a demon, a wide mouth, seemingly screaming and crying eyes, with two horns growing out of its forehead.
That thing’s entire body was covered in black miasma, almost like an armor.
“AHHHHHH!”
The Butler couldn’t overcome his fear and ran away.
…
The lady gazed uninterested at the butler running away filled with fear.
Her dead eyes returned to that mysterious being, that had locked eyes with her.
“I knew that butler was weak, running away when he was supposed to protect me.
I guess I need to deal with this myself…”
She said in a monotone voice.

The Monster began walking again, but he didn´t seem aggressive he only walked around the carriage, as she looked him in the face.
But that Monster didn´t seem interested in her at the least.
No, he didn´t seem interested in anything at all.
The same way he appeared in a flash out of nowhere, he disappeared in the air after he walked past the carriage.
…
What was that thing, I had never seen something like that before.
I could feel it´s sorrow while I looked into its eyes, he gave off the feeling as if he had lost everything and was rotting slowly from the inside out.
He seemed dead inside.
“He almost seemed like a Human….”
It headed towards the capital I may be able to find out something in the city about that thing.
I looked for the carriage behind me, to ride with it to the capital but...
“The horses disappeared….”

She coldly started at the carriage for a whole Minute and then took a deep breath, just to start walking in the direction of the City of Eryndor, the number one place when it comes to Monster and Dungeon hunting.
The moment she took her first steps, a wind blast just blew out of her with immense power, her white and blue colored clothes flattered around in the air, as did her snow-white hair. After a blink of worth time, it seemed as if she had just disappeared, only after seconds could one hear the big sound bomb from afar, she had broken through the sound barrier with only one step and was heading towards the city at supersonic speed.
At the gate of Eryndor
“Hey! We are recruiting A-Rank Adventures to challenge a dungeon, are you interested?”
“I´m sorry I already have a party.”
“Tchh...”
There are many different people gathered in front of the date to Eryndor.
Adventures looking for a Party to conquer dungeons and hunt monsters.
Many powerful people were gathered here.

“Are you looking for a party young man?”
“Oh yes I´m looking for one!”
“Then today is your lucky day, we still need one adventurer on our team for the Intermediate Dungeon.
“That is awesome I´m in!”
As the two young men talked, a beautiful girl with white hair appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the crowd.
It was as if time had stopped.
“Hey where did that girl just come from-?”
Immediately after he ended his sentence, multiple big shock waves started coming from the nearby forest and soon loud noises followed sounding as if bombs were exploding.
A last loud noise sounded before the gate, as if something had just arrived here.
“WHAT WAS THIS?”
“WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?”
Everyone became confused at what had just happened.
“Hey where did that girl with the white hair disappear to?”

Inside the city walls
Inside it was prosperous, people were working and enjoying their lives.
“I should be able to find information about that being here,” said a quiet and monotone voice.
The girl with the white hair stood in front of a massive building.
The local Adventurer guild.
She walked through the door and went to the quest board.
There were many different kinds of quest available, but there was one thing in common about them.
Multiple Quest were about a mysterious monster that had recently appeared in the area.
The prize money was quite amazing, 100 Gold coins for a newly appeared monster was something you could only hear in legends and the people of this land named that monster “The Black Tear”.
“Did you hear?”
“The Black Tear should be coming to this area.”
“What, are you sure?”
“Yes I´m pretty sure this is true”
“The first time it appeared was exactly one year ago, two young adventurers found a seemingly dead body in the remains of Lumenvall, but they soon had found out that, that thing was still alive. Some people say that this Monster was responsible for Lumenvalls downfall!”

Lumenvall? The Town that got destroyed one year ago.
The Black Tear….
The White-haired girl rushed to the reception and asked in a quiet soft voice.
“Can you tell me everything about the Black tear?”
“huh..Ehm..sure..”
The young receptionist girl seemed quite confused by that question.
She had long brown hair and brown eyes, and a white and green uniform on her.
“Are you sure you want to hunt the Black Tear?”
“Hunt…?”
“Yes, many powerful people had already tried, but…”
“What happened?”
“Not one of them ever returned…
There was nothing left of them, not even their dead body, it was as if their entire existent just disappeared into thin air.”
…
“So, are you sure, you want to hunt it?”
“No, I won´t hunt it!”
“Oh, that is good to hear-“
“I only wanted to search for it, to find out what it is.”
…
“WHAT?!?”

The beauty with her ice-cold gaze, stood there as if frozen.
She is Serious about this?!?
It doesn´t seem like she is joking either…
“Sigh… you will only get yourself killed!”
“I´m strong, I don´t need your worry.”
…
As they stared into each other’s eyes for a few moments.
“Alright fine, I will tell you about it!”
“What do you want to know?”
“Where can I find it?”
…
“How am I supposed to know that?”
…
“The rumors say it had been walking from the Town Lumenvall, it randomly appears out of nowhere so he could be everywhere, at night he always disappears completely, so he most likely rest somewhere in that timeframe.”

“What happened with the people trying to subdue it?”
“Nobody really knows they just disappeared into thin air, but some people say that Monster devoured them to quell his hunger.”

The Black Tears didn´t seem aggressive to me.
Could the disappearance of the people who went to challenge it be a lie?
…
It seemed like it was searching for something.
If I find out what it´s searching for I may be able to find it.
“Thank you for the Information you provided.”
She turns around, her hair floating in the air, as she walks out of the guild.
“I will find out what you are just wait for me Black Tear!”
