“Human” active Soul(s) successfully located the planet. 8,344,917,832 Continuing extraction...

They took turns talking while observing Chump's condition. Meanwhile, he connected the dots inside his head. "Now I get it. That's why she wanted me to look good but still hurt while doing a good job torturing me, but good enough to worsen it." Chump groaned while deducing this. They discussed ideas among themselves, while Sharlindra watched them, excited about the ideas they brought up.

The Indian executive spoke behind her, “You didn't break any of his bones. We could start by breaking each finger bone-”

The Yakuza continued, “That would take long, and we don't have that much time. Corrode his skin with acid."

The Chinese shook his head, negating, “Those could damage his brain and render him useless in the long term. Go to his family, make him.”

The Russian spoke a bit first in his mother language before switching, “The mental pain will make him not think. We need him on our side and functional.”

In the end, they entered a discussion on how to extract the information. He knew that his fate was sealed away, but he didn't care anymore. His mind was set in stone. "You have everything out of me." Chump interrupted Sharlindra in her delusions, with a grumpy and confused tone, astonished at what they wanted. "All my inventions, all my schematics, you know my life from the moment I was born until now, even the worst parts…What more do you want from me?” As he slightly moved to a proper posture on the sofa.

Silence reigned in the room once again. She started walking around them while they stood immobile, spellbound by her, as their personalities faded away while her speech continued.

“You see, your schematics are a bit rough…Not even the best translator or tools can understand a single thing. As well as the engineering takes weeks to just understand basic parts of your machines or programs. Your drawings, your handwriting is basically…Shit.”

"Ouch! That actually hurt for once. Look, I do my best, but I can’t solve that my brain does not want to put power in my handwriting, and I understand it, so it’s not that bad…” Everyone looked at him, with their most serious faces. She giggled, tinkering and playing with her nails. He could even feel the staring glares of the guards on the door, even the flies around. "Shut it! It's not that bad!" He exclaimed with force, blushing from the humiliation.

“It is really bad, Chump. Look, I like presentations and stuff, but I am not a patient person. I want you to snap out of your paladin moral justice phase and rule the world with us. Rule the world with me. Think about it for a damn second. With your brilliance in every machine, in every science, how to make our aspirations a reality in mere days! With our organization? We could top every government, every stupid human that controls everything guided by short sight and-”

He rolled his eyes, not even glancing at her but to her side. “I don’t care, Sharlindra. This is not the way to do it. Put me back in that damn cell. A couple of more days on K-pop songs, and perhaps I can understand Korean without studying it yet.”

She slowly approached the engineer, as her aura felt like a predator clenching her claws around him, starting to feel fear, cornered against the wall of blades and the sharp nails of the snake in front of her. “So smart and yet so dumb,” she whispered.

“You fucki-“ He overreacted; he hated that phrase, repeated all his life over and over. "Everyone telling me that for things I didn’t comprehend. I understand everything! From quantum physics to medicine! Why do they keep repeating that?" He didn't say it, but not needed for words for this once, as only from the tiny reaction, Sharlindra knew exactly what he was thinking.

“This will be your last chance, Chump.” As she placed her hand on his chin, with enough distance to see each other's face. “Join us, make the world a better place. I am giving you, the good man, ammunition. You can have everything you desire, even me.~”

A moment of silence, as nobody spoke. He took a moment to breathe in and out, a moment to relax. He stood up and got closer to her. She closed her eyes, ready for a passionate kiss.

But the only thing she felt was her nose being crushed bluntly.

With all his energy she gave him for this false, he retracted his head and swung it like a hammer. A clean headbutt and a squeezed and broken nose later, he stood his ground, invigorating an unknown strength despite his injured body, clenching his fist, with a burning feeling that he couldn’t describe. The henchmen and the guards took a stand and aimed his guns at him, not doing anything, as she stopped them with a hand move. Both could see, could feel their frustration, their anger, their fury. Their desire to put an end to the other's life.

“Why! You threatened me and my family in many ways! The concept of death is merciful for both of us. But here’s the thing…My family for the rest of the world?! You could never ask me to do that. I knew that I had to keep resisting; the rest of the world depends right now on my will. No matter how many times my mother screams. No matter how many times my father cries. No matter how many times my sister bleeds out.”

The henchmen behind them stood silently, hearing my speech, even finding it funny in this situation, but they didn’t care. “If I gave up, everything, everyone would be doomed. Call me a monster, and I will be proud to be one. Because the day I break my chains, the day I get back control, I will make you suffer, Sharlindra, for everything you did to everyone. And afterward, you will die, for everything that you did to me.”

Everyone found it funny, a child's speech to their eyes of the ridiculous statements of his word, giggling, even laughing out loud. He turned around for a moment, glaring with anger at them, not noticing that when he turned around, it was too late.

He felt cold on his forehead. A barrel gun was pointed at my forehead as her malicious eyes and her sinister smile tortured his soul.

“And later, you want to call me a monster. It's a shame, really~.”

Click, crack, crick! SNAP!-

There was no shot, no hole, no bullet in the ground. No more cold on his forehead.

"What is... What can..." He thought as he quickly stepped away from her and everyone in the open room. The mafia leaders, the henchmen, the business people. Every person began to convulse in almost a perfect and erratic manner. The muscles torn apart, the bones were audibly cracking up, their hands turned inside out. The Indian and the Chinese bosses' bodies snapped in half like a cookie. The Russian and Japanese legs pierced their torsos and twisted them into balls. The rest, excluding Sharlindra, instantly exploded into tiny bits of bones and organs across the floor.

Sharlindra was the only one there who resisted the most time without changes, but her pain was audible and visible, as every part of her trembled and her skin was turning violet rapidly.

He quickly stepped away after the first body twisting on itself, turning pale, hiding behind the sofa by pure instinct. He had seen many things in his life, but this was too much for his brain to suddenly process. In his panic, he tried to look for the source of what was doing it, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary in that place. Neither the air nor any light. Contrary to his belief, none were dead yet, even the ones who exploded. Hollow screams and violent blood fountains erupted from their mouths of every head, followed by pure silence. A hand, a light came out from their bodies trying to cling back to their bodies. It had a gaseous form, different sizes, forms, and colours for each person but with their faces on fire. Sharlindra grabbed Chump's feet, searching for help, while her dark, purplish, wretched soul shouted at her.

"What... What did you do?" She screamed while looking at the engineer with the most upheld fury of her life, then her body began to twist as well.

Those forms, souls, fires, whatever they held, slowly rose up and traversed violently through the walls or the windows, something was pulling them. He got out of their way, ducking and crawling through the floor. Only to be greeted by the terrifying vision in the sky, closing his mouth, terrified of what he witnessed.

Millions upon millions of souls floated away, to a sky of such unnatural emerald tones. Sucked against their will, as their creeping screams faded away. Their echoes filled the air with fear. No matter where he looked, which window or which direction, the city, the villages around, the farms, the mountains, every soul was being extracted and fused to that sky, disappearing among that green light, and with them, their voices. Columns of multicolored pillars that in any other scenario would be like watching a fountain of firecrackers in a beautiful night sky, were souls forcefully taken as their hollow screams cried for help. A hand, a savior that never came.

After every single soul was extracted, after everyone disappeared in that mist, twisted in untold ways, the corpses turned to pure ashes. All their remains, blood, bones, organs, the stains in the places or the clothes, every single part turned to pure ashes. Grey, dusty, almost grainy ashes.

Nothing more happened. The sky returned to normal in some seconds. A windy day, where the ashes were the main attraction.

Paralyzed in terror, Chump looked at the room that once held him captive at gunpoint. He didn’t move, fear crippled him. Then, he turned slowly towards the outside, towards the gardens, the city, the nearby locations. All filled with clothes and ashes.

An empty calm sensation flowed through him. A deafening silence took over everything, only broken by his slow and heavy breaths. A cold sweat appeared on his skin; his clothes were overwhelming him. Tears flowed down the young man’s face as his legs failed, relying on his knees to stand up. All his body fell sideways to a nearby wall, looking at the horizon. The implications struck his mind like thunder it was.

Humanity had died; everyone disappeared in a symphony of pain and suffering.

"I am alone..."

...

"Master! Where's master! I must find master! The bad people turned to tiny stuff that makes me feel funny! It was you! Right, Master?” The telepathic voice broke out from the other side of the door, filled with worry and energy that anyone who could hear him could feel his pain. “This sign can’t stop me cause I can’t read!”

“MY THUNDER WILL BREAK ANYTHING!” He claimed, not out of obligation, but thinking it was cool.

Thunder Creation 1/10 ★ has been used Thunder Control 1/10★ has been used. Remenant storage reduced to 450 The Goddess recommends to maintain a low level of uses until full recovery of Remenant.

As a giant flash blinded Chump, he reacted by closing his eyes and protecting himself. In a giant spark, a great hole was formed in the decorated doors that guarded the room, and Zippy, the blackish yellow furr bunny, jumped through it. He saw his master crying, pale on the wall out of everything that happened, and the instincts kicked in.

"MASTER IS CRYING! OH NO! HE MUST BE SAD OR IN PAIN! But he seems okay! NO! Why are you crying? I am here, master! Please be happy! We are okay, Mister Chump! Master! You are alive, master! Zippy is alive! Please do not abandon Zippy again! Please, please, please, please!” As the furrball snuggled the human on his lap and later jumped on his face to push him and lick his face.

Chump’s hands moved along, hugging the bunny with a swift momentum. The colors returned to the human, as he started crying in a mix of sadness and overjoy. He stood silent for a few more moments in that position before commenting back with sadness in his lungs, "I did not Zippy, something, somewhere did this... I... I don’t know what happened, why it happened. Was it my fault? I… I..." He began to sob uncontrollably. The little bunny licked the tears and snuggled to make him feel better, but it took him a while.

His warmth felt like it could dissipate any cold in the storm.

“No... No, this can't be happening. It must be the drugs... But any effect, no... This must be an isolated phenomenon! This must be the actions of somebody out there or something out there.” He held Zippy with one hand. The bunny regained its smile as it saw the human regaining his strength and standing up. "Zippy, do not leave my side until I say otherwise. We need to contact A.P.R.I.L. As soon as possible and investigate what caused this. It's the least we can do."

"Yes, sir!" As Zippy jumped around in sparks, landing on Chump’s shoulder.

“Let’s get ready then. We will find out what caused this.”
