The summer is ending.

"The breeze is slightly cold as it goes over my face. It is a sign autumn is coming, and along with it starts my life in high school. A new life where I will meet new people, see and feel new things and learn new skills. I am kind of happy thinking about all the things that can happen." a girl thought to herself. She was slightly taller than your average girl and had a slim body. Her long, straight hair was waving in the wind and her light blue eyes were shining as she was sitting on a bench snacking on a bag of chips. Her name was Alicia Harph, a 14 years old girl who was about to enter a high school in a week. She was enjoying the last days of her summer break with her mother in a park that was about half an hour away from her house. When she was little her mother would always bring her there to play so she was quite bonded with that place as well as with her mother who she looks up to with respect. The days were passing so fast.

"Alicia. I think we should go and buy more school supplies just in case." a gentle voice said. In front of Alicia appeared a tall woman with bleached red hair and green eyes. This woman was Alicia's mother, Elizabeth Harph, who is a bit too much of a worrywart and wanted to make sure everything was ready for her daughter's big day. Since her husband was often overseas on a job trip, she pretty much raised Alicia by herself and got a bit too worried whenever something related to her is happening.

"Jeez, Mom. I will be fine. If you want we can go buy some ingredients for dinner since the fridge is getting empty. I will be the chef today" Alicia said while hugging her mother and reassuring her. Her mother let a sigh and agreed with her daughter's proposal. Alicia crumbled the bag of chips she was previously holding and threw it in a park bin standing by the side of the road while on her way to the mall near the park. It was a large place that was full of various shops that fought to get the spotlight on the best places. Upon entering you could see everything, from something as convenient as fast food shops to the most luxurious jewelry and clothes stores, no matter where you looked and it was all glorified by a statue imitating Renaissance painters that were in the middle of the mall working as a fountain. You could see it was a place made by a powerful man who knew what he was doing.

"Oh, dear. It seems this place is as shiny as always"

"Of course it is Mom. God knows how much people invested in a building such as this. But let's not bother with things like that. What do you think about getting some chicken filet for dinner?" Alicia said kindly and with passion. She was thinking of preparing a filet with some grilled vegetables for dinner. Not too heavy on the stomach but tasty nonetheless.

"Oh, that sounds delightful. Even though you are so young you learned to be a pro chef. Your mom is so proud of you my little Alicia" Her mother said emotionally and hugged her tight.

"Mom! We are in public! Please don't embarrass me in front of the people" Alicia said while trying to separate her body from her mother's. It was quite a difficult feat since her mother is surprisingly strong. After managing it somehow she tried to get things over with so she does not get into any other similar situation.

"Let's go up and find some fresh meat. They don't sell a lot of it until much later when people get from work so we can get the best ones before others do" Alicia said trying to just finish with this and go back home.

"Alright, honey. We will do as you say" Her mother responded. She was a bit disappointed her daughter doesn't let her be chummy with her anymore but was proud of her growth at the same time. She was always worried she could not properly raise a kid by herself so seeing Alicia being so mature and independent makes her heart flutter. Even if she gets angry she lets it slide for Alicia's sake.

And so they went on the escalator but once they were slowly climbing the second floor a monster erupted from the ground. It looked similar to a bear but it was way bigger. Its skin was black, its eyes were black with yellow pupils, and huge claws, and it had red stripes all over its body. It screamed and started running havoc. It first charged at a statue and pushed it off its place. The statue started falling toward the escalator and it caused Alicia and her mother to fall as the escalator collapsed. The people were running away as a monster was destroying everything in its sight and police were trying to shoot it down. The bullets were ineffective in actually injuring the monster but they were enough to distract it and buy time before reinforcements came so the policemen were shooting with their lives on the line. If they were to stop a lot of people would die and they knew this. They kept shooting and shooting while people were running away and Alicia was trying to find her mother in the rubble. Since her mother pushed her away she got off with a light injury but her mother was completely buried by the rubble. After barely managing to drag her mother out of the mess to a safe corner she tried to stop all the bleeding her mother got. She risked her life to save her daughter and the damage she got was quite heavy. Her face was starting to get pale and her vision was getting blurry. Alicia started to cry begging her to stay with her but it look to her like it was a lost cause. Despite trying so hard she will never see her daughter grow up, and despite trying so hard Alicia won't be able to save her mother. Alicia was getting more and more teared up begging her mother to live when she suddenly heard a voice in her head.

"Do you want the power to save people?" A voice said to Alicia. She was surprised but she was also desperate so she replied immediately.

"Yes! Please! Just help me save her"

"If you gain this power you will have a responsibility to use it to save this world from evil. Are you sure you can survive what you will face?"

"YES! I will! Just help me save her! PLEASE!" Alicia screamed desperately. Once she did her body started getting warm. She felt electricity run through her body and a bright light appeared.
