‘I don't know for how long I've been walking behind this line, i don't even remember why I'm in line.’ a boy clothed in white with pale features thought.
In front of him were other people also dressed in white, their faces also pale. Some were nervous and some were angry. Some were silent and some were shouting. At the back were blurry figures, also lining up, but those blurry figures were wearing gray clothes.
Both sides around them were giant shadows, cloaked in black robes while holding scythes. Speaking some language that all of them somehow understands. But what was the strangest of all was that they all couldn’t remember anything before lining up in this very long and unending line.
“Humans...so few of them…” one of the giant shadow said.
“Around 6 billion.. from what world in the mortal realm did they come from..” another one said.
“It was called.. Heart...I think. Hahahaha…” a giant shadow joked.
“Keke, only a few billion of them. How about we play with them a little.” a giant shadow suggested.
“That's a good idea…”
“I agree…”
“Me too..”
“Hmph!” at this moment a boundless aura locked in the area around those talkative giant shadows. Making them feel powerless against it. The humans didn't notice nor were they affected.
“Ahhh...who...who dares…” a giant shadow weakly said, struggling to look at the source of the aura.
“You...wh-!...” the moment the giant shadow saw the figure who emanated the aura, his body exploded into black smoke.
“Shhhh..hhhhh…” smoke still lingered in the air.
The giant shadows were silent.
Utter silence…
After a moment, a figure appeared up in the void above all of them, staring at the figure who caused the giant shadow to turn into smoke.
“What are you doing here? Does the Demon King Palace wants to declare war with us?” the newly arrived figure asked. He too emanated a boundless aura that collided with the other one.
The moment their aura collided, the giant shadows were able to move again, even the giant shadows that were not involved arrived. They quickly surrounded the figure from the Demon King Palace.
“Heh, there is no need to be this worked up right? I, the Demon Prince, Luther XXXI just came to visit and check the place. HAHAHAHHA!” The Demon Prince smirked and laughed so loud that it made the giant shadows almost dissipate.
“And what war are you talking about… Your father and my father are blood siblings you know.. HAHAHAHA!” The Demon Prince laughed.
“I just don’t get why there should be disunity between my father and yours.” he continued.
“Then you should ask your father that question.” The other figure asked.
“Heh… younger cousin, I...never mind..” The Demon Prince laughed, his eyes turning colder as he stared at his so called cousin.
“I want all the souls here.” The Demon Prince said.
“The souls were already sold to the Heavenly Goddess Palace. They want these souls delivered to them to the river of reincarnation through marching. They will judge these souls and let them reenter reincarnation.” the figure answered.
“How much did they pay the Heavenly Demon Palace, that you guys were willing to sell the souls to them.”
“Nothing much, because they are souls from a mortal realm.” the figure said.
“Hmm.” The Demon Prince looked at the souls not far away, and sighed.
“Tsk...inferior souls..humans… I wasted my precious time coming here..” The Demon Prince said. He could not tell the grade of the soul before because he did not even bother looking, now that he knew, he immediately turned around and left.
The moment he left, the giant shadows heaved a sigh of relief, they would fight the Demon Prince, but they knew they would surely die from his aura alone.
“Young Demon Prince, what are we going to do? Should we report this to your father?”
“No. Just see to it that these souls are delivered.” After saying that, the Young Demon Prince left. The giant shadows, came back to their positions, and did their job this time without talking.
After a seemingly endless time, the souls finally arrived at their destination. They were walking in a flat, straight ground through the void, and now in front of them was a mountain, so tall that they couldn’t see its peak. Not too far away was a river, so wide that it could be called an ocean and in its waters were souls.

“Halt!” a voice sounded from the mountain.
All the souls halted, and the giant shadows stood their ground.
After a moment, a soldier in golden armor floated down from the mountain peak.
“Hmmm.” the soldier looked at the souls and nodded to the giant shadows.
“You can leave now.” the soldier said, without any emotions on his face.
The giant shadows left.
The soldier raised his hand and in a grabbing motion and all the souls were grabbed, then compressed together.
His hand glowed in golden light and all the souls lost their focus. The souls were now asleep.
Then he waved his hand and all the souls vanished.
He looked up and a moment later he arrive at the mountain peak.
“Lord, the souls are here.” the soldier handed a ring to an old man who was busy painting.
The old man looked at the ring and received it.
“6 billion souls. Inferior. Send them to the mortal realm to reincarnate.” the old man, after he finished looking at the ring, returned it to the soldier.
“What about their judgment?” the soldier asked.
“Hmm.. then you go and judge them.. I’m too busy.” the old man said and focused his attention on his painting again.
"All right." the soldier took the ring once again and bowed before he vanished.
The soldier appeared near the river of reincarnation, where a middle aged man was smoking. The soldier went near the middle aged man and bowed.
"Lord Raizel, please help me judge these souls." the soldier said, as he kneeled down and handed the ring.
"These souls are all inferior. The best we can do is send them to a mortal world. Hmm, since I am bored myself. Let's judge them and grant them a better life base on their past actions." Lord Raizel said after inspecting the ring.
"Let's do it." the soldier laughed and quickly started pulling a soul from the ring.
"Qin Xin, a cold hearted murderer. hmmm, let's burn down this soul. It's not worth it letting it reincarnate." Lord Raizel judged the soul after they knew his past deeds.
Lord Raizel glanced at the soul and it immediately caught on fire. The soul was burning, but what was clear was that even though it was burning, the soul didn't dissipate, instead it woke up and howled in pain.
"Ahhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhh-!" The souls ear piercing scream resounded in the area, before vanishing. It was sealed in a space dimension, where it would suffer for many years.
"Mary Mana, a kind hearted girl but died when the world ended. Had done many good deeds." Lord Raizel said, pondering for a moment. "Send her to the realm of the mortals, the Heavenly Great World. She has to at least experience a good life in a good world."
The soldier grabbed the soul and sent it to the river, where it swam, heading to an underground passage. The moment the soul entered underground passage, it would start its reincarnation.
Souls after souls were inspected. they inspected the souls carefully for a long time, but time was moving very slow, so in reality, the time it took them to check the souls was very fast. In just a few minutes they had already examined millions of souls.
"Hmm, Desiree Grom, a cheerful girl with a pure kind heart. Also died when the world ended. Had done many good deeds, particularly when she gave away a percentage of their wealth to the needy." Lord Raizel evaluated. "Hm, send her to the Heavenly Great World too."
The soldier grabbed the soul and was about to send it to the river when Lord Raizel took the soul from him.
"Lord Raizel?" The soldier was startled by Lord Raizel's action.
"This soul has a regret. It's regret was so strong that it unknowingly asked me to help her." Lord Raizel said, as he examined the soul.
"A regret in friendship?" HAHAHA! this is a first." Lord Raizel said.
"Friendship?" the soldier asked.
"Yeah, who would have thought that a regret this strong was because of a certain kind of feeling towards their friendship with someone." Lord Raizel continued to look at the soul's regret.
"It regrets not being able to befriend a kid her age. Seems like this kid is special to her." Lord Raizel said, he took the ring from the soldier and grabbed a certain soul.
The soul floated in front of them.
"Is this the kid that you were talking about Lord Raizel?" the soldier asked.
"It is him." After looking at the soul, Lord Raizel sighed. "It has lived a life of sorrow, but his heart is pure, but he has not done any deed worth mentioning."
"I want to send this soul to a normal mortal realm, but the girl wished to be reincarnated with him...I'm in a difficult spot..." Lord Raizel said as he scratched his head, lost in thought.
The soldier looked at the kids soul and examined it.
"He is really nothing special." the soldier murmured.
"Hmm..wh- what!?" the soldier became startled, the kids soul was looking at the not too far away soul from him, and tears rolled down his cheeks. His eyes became crystal clear.
"Desiree...I'm glad you're okay." The kid said.
"You can talk?" the soldier said, but the kid was only focused at looking at the girl's soul, he did not notice the soldier at all.
The kid looked at the middle age man near Desiree and smiled.
"Sir is this heaven? Are you taking her to a better place?" the kid asked, which really stunned the soldier.
"Hm?" Lord Raizel looked around and was surprise to see the soul awake.
"I am." Lord Raizel said.
"That's great!" The kid smiled and his eyes lost focus again.
"Wh- what was that about?" the soldier could not help but look at the kid's soul in astonishment.
"He awoke, that's all there is to it. But what amazes me is that even though he awoke, all he did was ask about the girl and not bothering about himself." Lord Raizel said.
"Hm...I've decided, send this girl to the Heavenly Great World." Lord Raizel said.
"Along with the boy?" the soldier asked.
"No. Send the boy to the Desolate World in the lower mortal realms." Lord Raizel said.
"Lower mortal realms? Why? That world has almost no energy left." the soldier asked.
"That's why. Let him live a normal life." Lord Raizel said, he took other souls and started inspecting.
"Okay." the soldier quickly sent both souls to their destinations.
In a plain field outside a village, a boy could be seen staring at the sky above. The fresh and cool wind blew past him. His tattered clothes fluttering in the wind.
"How are you doing?" The boy murmured, looking sad, but a look of determination quickly appeared in his eyes.
"Marcus! You're slacking off again! What if the chief saw you!" A worried voice sounded not too far from him.
"Don't worry brother. I'm not slacking off." The boy named Marcus smiled as he looked at his brother.
