"Haaaaahh..." A sigh echoed through a lonely dark night.
A young boy could be seen sitting on a rooftop. Around him were trees, and everything else were darkness. His house was located in a deep private property with almost no neighbors. But beyond the darkness were rays of light from the stars above.
Looking at the stars, the boy looked sad, he lay down on the rooftop, still looking at the sky.
"When is this going to end..." He murmured, tears rolled down to his cheeks from his eyes. He wants to die, he felt so lonely since his father died.
Time passed, the sun was about to rise, the boy was still there, staring at the vanishing stars that are barely visible now.
"Crap! It's morning already." The boy realized this and quickly went down to his room. He immediately lay down his bed to sleep.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!" The alarm clock echoed through the silent room. Not giving him any time to sleep.
"Damn it. I forgot to sleep again." The boy said, as he sat down, looking lost while staring at the floor.
"Another useless day." He said lightly as he stood up and got his towel.
A few minutes later he exited the bathroom and changed to his school uniform.
He went down the stairs and headed straight to the dining room, where his mother was preparing breakfast.
"You got up early again today." His mother said, smiling at him. "Sit down and eat while the food is still warm." His mother beckoned at him.
The boy sat down and started eating, a moment later, he had already finished his food.
"That was fast, take your time eating, there's no one chasing after you." His mother laughed as she picked up the plate. "Do you want more rice?" She asked.
"Nah. I'm already full, mom. Thanks, I'll be going to school now." The boy got up and kissed his mother in the cheeks as he got his bag and left.
"Take care!" His mother said.
"Mm. You too mom." The boy smiled and left.
Walking down the way to school through their land was tough. The ground was made of clay, even without raining, the ground would become sticky.
"Damn, It got dirty again." Looking down at his shoes the boy frowned. Some of the soil were even sticking in his slacks.
Just after leaving their property and entering the highway road. He quickly bent down and got a tissue to clean his shoe.
After cleaning the shoe, he looked at the road in front of him and at the sun's position.
"It's still around 5:30 A.M. I still have time." The boy looked at the far stretched road in front of him. His family, although owned a very wide land, was in fact poor. He had to walk 10 kilometers everyday back and forth to school. That takes about 1 hour and a half to 2 hours max. Class starts at 7:30 A.M. so he is still confident to reach school on time. His eyes burning with determination. Walking to school is tiresome but that's the only thing except when it is night that he gets a peaceful moment for himself.
Walking in the highway alone was quiet boring, but he is not that sad walking alone, he even prefers walking alone.
"Walking with people is fun, but all they talk about is backstab anyone not in front of them. I really hate those kind of people." He murmured as he as always walked with determination. He had friends before, but he did not really enjoyed their company, the only things they talked were about games, and about people's lives.
"Beep! Beep!" A car honked beside him.
"Marcus! Why don't you ride with me to school? Come in!" A voice sounded out from the car. The windows slowly opening. It was a girl. Her hair was long and it was black, her eyes were round, her nose were kinda long, her skin is smooth and fair, making her very beautiful in anyone's perspective.
"Desiree! Nah, I'm good." The boy was named Marcus, and this girl who talked to him was called Desiree. She was from a rich family, she had her own driver and her own butler. She was friendly to anyone, but Marcus disliked people that was like her. For him, people like her were like wolves in sheep clothing.

"I see. I ask you every time, but every time you decline. Good luck walking to school." Disappointment flashed in Desiree's eyes as she was declined once again. The windows closed and the car, went away.
"Hah, you're so lucky you know, you don't have to worry so much." Marcus said. He really wanted to ride the car on the way to school, but he knows that when he rides the car, and the moment they arrive at school, he would be the focus of attention. Although, Desiree was friendly to everyone, he knew that he was the only one invited to ride the car with her. He felt this was a ploy Desiree plotted. She was bored enough that she would toy with his life like this, that she wanted everyone to hate him.
Marcus continued walking for more than an hour and he finally arrived at school.
"Sit down! The teacher has arrived." The class leader said.
Everyone sat down, including Marcus.
The door opened.
"Good Morning teacher!" Everyone stood up and bowed.
"Mm. Sit down." The teacher went inside the room and sat down.
"Open your books at page.." The teacher started discussing the lessons.
Hours passed by, it was now noon. It was time for lunch. Everyone headed to the canteen except Marcus. He went to the rooftop to eat his lunch alone. He does not have money to buy food from the canteen, and everyone from his school is kinda wealthy. So he would only stick out eating a packed lunch.
"Eating alone has its benefits, but its kinda lonely." He said lightly.
"Then how about I join you?" A feminine voice sounded behind him.
"Desiree, I know you want to become friends with everybody, but it will only trouble me." Marcus said, looking behind him.
"What trouble would I bring you..." Desiree said, pouting, looking cutely.
"Ah...." Marcus didn't know what to say.
This girl is really plotting something, he thought.
"Sigh!" Marcus sighed. "You know, if you and I are seen here, eating lunch and is friendly to each other, the boys would all come to me and challenge me...and the girls too... They wouldn't want their precious friend, to be friends with a poor guy like me." Marcus continued, he wanted to at least have some friends, but his situation and everyone's wealthy personality is the biggest problem. He was discriminated because he was poor, but it did not bother him, but it would be different if Desiree and him would be friends, everyone would surely start targeting him.
"Then, I won't be friends with them anymore." Desiree said, smiling at Marcus.
"What? You're joking right?" Marcus said, not knowing what face to make. What kind of joke was this.
"I am not!" Desiree said, eyes burning with determination.
"Even if the world ended! I wouldn't mind, as long as you and I become friends. That's all that matters." Desiree said, as she smiled sweetly at Marcus.
"You..." Marcus blushed. He avoided Desiree's eyes and looked at the sky.
"Hmm.." Marcus looked at the sky, there was a glittering dot in the sky.
"A star?" He said.
Desiree looked at the sky too and was shocked.
"That's....a meteor?" Desiree said, as the glittering dot in the sky, became more and more visible. The sky started to turn dark, and that glittering dot transformed into thousands of glittering small dots.
"This is a meteor bombardment!" Marcus shouted.
"It really came. What a mouth you have." Marcus was silly as he looked at Desiree, who also became silly.
Did it really arrive to destroy the world because she said so?
The dots became visible, they were huge rocks. As they entered the earth, they burned with great ferocity.
All the students at school started to shout in horror!
"Ah!"
"Were doomed!"
"Doomsday has arrived!"
Shouts of horror resounded throughout the school. Marcus was standing looking at the sky with out even looking away.
"Mom..." Marcus closed his eyes. He thought about his mom. Tears rolled down his cheeks. There were many things he still haven't said to his mom. Like how much he loves her and that he wnats to take care of her in the future, but now its too late to do any of those.
Just as he was prepared for any outcome while his body turned cold and shook visibly in fright, a warm feeling held his hands.
"Don't worry, we became friends so what is there to fear?" A voice entered his ears as he looked at the smiling Desiree.
'So beautiful! I, I.. I don't want to die!' It was the first time Marcus didn't want to die in the longest time. But fate is harsh to him after all.
"Boom!" Everything around him blew up, the smiling Desiree being blown away in a slow motion, tore his heart apart.
"Damn it all!!!" Marcus shouted!
Everything on earth was annihilated. Those meteor bombardment signified the ending of the era, and the rising of a new era in the next million years.
