"So this is the Pokemon School!" Dulse announced.
"This place is filled with Auras!" Zossie's eyes sparkled.
"Zossie..." Dulse glared.
"But Duuuuulse!" Zossie begged.
"Fine." Dulse crossed his arms. "But first we have to check in on that infernal mute girl."
Dulse led Zossie and their Poipole to the edge of a short cliff about forty feet high. Peeking over the edge, they could see Sora hiding in a cluster of bushes, poking her head out. This mute stranger was onto them!
"She's so gorgeous!" Zossie drooled.
"Oh, shut it, Zossie!" Dulse snapped. "Anyways, we need to set a trap."
"A trap?" Zossie asked.
"A trap..." Dulse said. "We need to trap that girl somehow!"
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
So Dulse got a bucket and Zossie filled it with water. Then she set a net over it.
"Our trap..." Dulse monoluged.
The duo hid in the tree.
"That'll teach her not to call us cosplayers..." Zossie pointed out.
Dulse thought about how Akane and Sora were complete oppoistes. Akane was smart and passionate and selfless and brave. Sora was awkward and overly emotional and anxious and neurotic and mute. Perfect for their trap.
As their target got closer and closer to the trap, the beautiful smell of Alola was getting steadily more and more replaced by something else. Something gross. Something stagnant. Something rotting.
Was that... a Grimer?
Confusedly, Dulse looked down and saw something that he hoped he’d never see again.
"Sora??"
She was dragging a Grimer behind her. As for her no-good stranger, she had an Alolan Meowth.
Zossie read the nametags.
"This Meowth is called Chesire Cat, and this Grimer is called Mikan."
"I'm not interested in these Pokemon, just the girl." Dulse just sat there, idly examining his gloves.
Suddenly...
Bang!
Water blasted from the bucket as though it were a shotgun.
Despite that... Sora stayed dry. She simply shrugged.
Same for her stranger.
"What?!" Dulse shrieked. "There's no way our trap malfunctioned!"
Zossie was laughing, thinking Sora was caught in the trap.
She was bouncing.
Bounce.
"I suppose that certain trees can be bounced on but I would not recommend trying it, Zossie." Dulse warned her.
Bounce!
"Quiet down!" Dulse said.
Bounce!
"I said, quiet down!" Dulse shouted.
Bounce!
"I have a mind to take our Poipole's needle and stick it up your-" Dulse muttered.
Before he could finish his sentence...
*Crunch*
The tree branch snapped, and Dulse and Zossie and their Poipole fell.
Splat!
They hit the floor.
"NO!" Dulse screamed, himself, Zossie and their Poipole now covered in tree sap.
"Well it could be worse. We could be caught in a net." Zossie chuckled.
Suddenly...
They were caught in the very net they had planned for Sora. It could be sort of strange how some things lined up like that.
Zossie moaned. "Me and my big mouth."
