Sora - Iki Town

Dear Mum…

A knock at the door preceded Akane entering the bedroom I'd been placed in.

She gave me a once-over glance before dragging a chair next to the small bed I laid in.

Sitting up, I winced as old injuries flared to life with the movement.

"Lay down, Sister." Akane tried to push me down, but I'd already sat up.

"I've been laying down for hours." I wrote. And still the pain taunted me that I lay here with no voice and... and...

Who am I?

There's also a matter of where am I, but that answer is much easier to answer than the first. In fact, the first question has never had an answer before. Not a real answer anyway.

I am Sora. Aside my sister Akane and my Litten Ruby, that's the only thing I can think of.

That's all I know about me.

There's nothing else you need to know.

But… who will I be? That's the important question…

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

I don't remember what I was doing, and I don't know the context for how I got here. In this normal room I have never seen before…

Maybe, if I ask my sister, I can learn more.

Akane told me about King Kukui, Iki Town and how I had fallen off a bridge.

"You nearly died." She finished.

Ruby's face also had scratches and bruises, showing how close he'd come to losing his own life.

While Litten hadn't fallen, saved by my sturdy Pokeball, he'd been injured.

I'd been lucky I hadn't drowned. A part of the ravine had caught me while the falling rocks had almost done me in. Miraculously, I'd survived, for which my sister and I were thankful. However, I'd been laid up while Akane had done things I don't know about.

My voice had been lost in the fall. The only way I could speak to anyone now is by writing.

"Kukui said, go to Iki Town for the festival." Akane said. She had put on a special kimono she had brought with her. It was one she had been given for special occasions, and since tonight was a festival (a special occasion), she wanted to dress in her best. She had let her hair down, decorating it with a faux lotus flower, pinned to the right side of her head. The kimono itself was a beautiful silky black, with various blue flower prints on it, along with bright green lily-pads. The sash she was wearing was light blue in color, with fluffy white clouds and turtle doves in flight. She was wearing a pair of thigh high stockings, along with wooden sandals. She had even brought out the special fan with her, something she hadn't even considered doing.

Eventually, I got dressed in my best too. I was wearing a beautiful pink kimono, made out of silk. There were floral prints all over the garment, which were a soft golden color. Akane noticed they were actually sakura blooms. Tied around my waist was a tie dye sash, forming a bow at my back, the excess hanging down. The lengthy sleeves almost touched the ground, acting almost like a cape as they draped down around me. I was wearing a pair of black socks, my feet bearing some wooden sandals.

We were off to Iki Town.

On the way, Akane caught two new Pokémon: A Pikipek. She called it Leonie, because… why not? She also got a Buneary. This Buneary's name is Blanche, which means "white".

I didn’t catch any Pokémon.

Outside Iki Town, we met… oh my god, what the hell. Are those Cosplayers?

Or were they two robots? Maybe I'd hit my head harder than I thought.

They were frightfully pale.

One appeared like a robot. The only part of him that looked organic was his purple hair.

The other was a red headed girl with her hair in a fishtail plait.

They kept speaking about something called “the blinding one”.

Then they noticed me and Akane. “So this is your stranger?” One asked me.

I had been rendered mute, so I couldn’t make a sound.

Then the other pointed out that we were strangers from a foreign land, like them apparently. Then they left.

I met a boy, and his name was Hau. I also met a girl called Lillie.

Oh! It almost slipped my mind, between everything else that happened today. I and Akane got Z-bands! I’ll write to you tomorrow.
