Hoping that no one saw his horrifying display of panic, Herman decided to see what his new skill did.
As it went through the new information in his head, basic knowledge of how to use it came up. He followed the steps, whish led him to focus his attention to the area of his stomach. There, Herman felt a small pulse of... energy?... kind of like a heartbeat. It started at that core, then spread through what he thought were the nerves of his body. It kind of felt like that one time he was shocked when he was...training? Must have been when he was a soldier.
Trying to push the frayed memories out of his mind, he focused on the spots where the energy traveled right up to his skin. There seemed to be a small barrier right as the energy was about to leave his body, causing it to rebound and continue to circulate his body, back to the core.
Based on his newfound knowledge, Herman new his [mana] should be able to exit his body through that barrier and form strings. It seemed these strings of concentrated [mana] would allow him to pick stuff up. That was where the knowledge ended. He guessed that he would just have to experiment and figure out the rest for himself.
Herman to force the mana out of his body, testing the barrier at multiple points. His first problem seemed to be that only certain parts of the body had a barrier thin enough for him to push through, mostly at his fingertips and his toes. Secondly, He could only push the mana through the barrier when it was at the peak of its circulation, any other time and he didn’t have enough.
The biggest problem came when he finally broke the barrier a good 30 minutes later. He was only able to make two strings of concentrated mana, each only six inches long. Maybe he could do more with practice, but he was done trying to force the mana out for now.
Luckily, once the mana was out, the mana was easy to manipulate he was able to attach to some rocks and then move them around. Maybe he could use the strings as a sling with some practice? The strings remained indefinitely, although he could feel a slight strain coming from his core the more he left it out.
Herman was still annoyed about his rash decision, but he knew he could make it work at least short time. Having finished getting an idea of the skill, He started going over the rest of the main commands.
System Notifications Status Class Skills Titles and Records System Help
…. Herman was certain he did not see the [Class Skills], the [Title and Records], or even the [System Help] when he last looked. He would have chosen the help before anything else, given the chance. Now that he thought about, he didn’t remember what the other things were on the list the last time he checked.

This system seemed to really like making his life difficult. Who had made such a faulty thing anyway? It wiped his memory, gave him weird classes whose very descriptions conflicted with each other, and it was withholding help until AFTER he had messed up.
Sending harsh thoughts to the creator of this joke system, Herman decided to pick the [System Help]. When he selected it, a list of [interactive items] popped up at the top right of his vision.
Experience until next level On/Off Health Points On/Off Stamina Points On/Off Mana Points On/Off Mini Map On/Off Time On/Off
“This would have been helpful two whole days ago!” Herman growled. He mentally switched each option [On] then saw five sets of numbers appear in the bottom right. Luckily his eyesight seemed to have improved with the rest of his body otherwise he was certain those numbers would be impossible to read, especially in the middle of running for his life or what not.
On the top left of his vision appeared a small map. It looked like what he assumed was and overhead view of his immediate surrounding. It showed him as a blue dot in the center, along with the cave floor around him. once it reached the wall the map just showed black, but the outside showed the undergrowth in picture perfect quality. It looked like a camera was just above his head, showing him everything in a fifty-foot radius. This would be immensely helpful to keep an eye out for anyone trying to sneak up on him. much better than that jumble of numbers in the bottom right.
He dismissed the [System Help] and got up to stretch his legs, trying to walk around and get a feel for the new "help" on his eyes.
He looked at his new clock noticing that he had spent well over a couple hours trying to acclimate to the changes.
Herman also noticed that his mana bar was almost completely empty, having only slightly refilled since he had finished experimenting. His stamina bar was also starting to drop, even though he hadn’t really done anything strenuous as far as he knew. It might be what was causing the headache and the fatigue he was feeling. Or was it the other way around? Either way, he decided he should probably try and find some water and possibly some food.
As he walked out of the cave, Herman noticed that the map extended with his increased line of sight. A little experimentation should that if he really strained, he could see up to around 3 miles and the map would give him a 360-degree view of that size. With it he was easily able to located a stream about a quarter mile north coming down from the mountain he was on, although it was too hard to make out finer details, such as whether any animals or edible plants were in the area. Not that he would be able to tell the difference between and edible plant or nonedible one. He wasn’t some rabbit.
Herman picked up the stones he left earlier using the map to check for any movement in the area as he started making his way over to the stream.
