11. Man can live with bread and wine

The next day Gawen went to his father to speak about what his mother had told him. He knew that his father supported him and so he needed him to convince her so that she wouldn't poke her nose in his matters.

"Do whatever you want to do. Since you are not touching the money of the House, you can do whatever you want." Robett assured him.

Gawen, getting the assurance, went to meet Endrew who was eagerly waiting. And finally they started the process of attaching horseshoe to the hooves. Gawen was the main director here.

Since he once watched videos on Youtube of how these shoes were attached he asked Endrew to follow the same process. And hope that whatever he did would be good enough. He asked Endrew to first chisel away the outer skin of the hooves. And then clean it while making sure that the back end of the hooves was V-shaped.

And then attach the horseshoe after making it super-hot. And ending the whole process after using nails to pin the shoes permanently. The horse who had been limping was able to step its foot on the ground for the first time after the shoes were attached. This itself showed that the operation was a success.

Though the horse wasn't able to walk properly as of yet, keeping his foot on the ground was a major accomplishment. Endrew and Gawen both looked ecstatic by this. Gawen couldn't stop himself and went straight to the keep to inform his father that his venture was a success.

"Father, look, the horse is perfectly alright." Gawen said as he ran to his father. His father was busy talking with Coholo, the Commander of House Glover.

Coholo and Robett both got interested in what Gawen then reiterated. Even Robett who had no hopes for his son's little interest which got just after losing his memory. After consulting with Wolkan he allowed Gawen to indulge in his hobby which he suddenly got but didn't expect to be actually successful.

He could easily see that the horse who was not even fit to walk in all 4 legs was walking. Wobbly!! But walking nonetheless!!!

Even Coholo who knew nothing of what was going on was surprised by what he saw and understood.

"Call Endrew. I need to talk to him." Coholo spoke to a guard nearby. The guard ran and brought Endrew back and asked about this new fitting.

And after much contemplation, Coholo allowed Endrew to experiment this with 5 horses. Endrew looked to John for permission as the whole process was an exclusive secret of John. John was glad that Endrew looked at him for direction. This meant Endrew was honourable at least, though it was not tested.

"Endrew can give horseshoes for 5 horses for free, but after that I will charge money." Gawen said.

Coholo accepted it immediately without even getting permission from Robett. At the end Gawen was the heir of the Lord and the money would end up in the treasury anyway.

Little did he know Gawen had other plans with the money he was going to get.

And thus at the very same day Endrew started working on new horseshoes which Gawen looked over. He had made special tools to fit the horseshoes on the hooves. So in 3 days the horseshoes were ready and they were fitted to 5 horses. Since this was a trial version, 2 weeks would be given to see what changes the horses have after putting it.

In the meantime, Gawen was going through books to acquire all the knowledge that he could gather in this small place. The houses, the world, the mythos, the gods.... everything.

And of course he was upgrading the books while doing that silently. Though he knew it wouldn't matter if Wolkan or his family members came to know, he wanted to keep his secret as long as possible. He needed to grow up fast before he could show himself to the world.

And he knew that he needed to show himself. Because if he doesn't, the Night King will come to an end all. He didn’t want to leave his fate in the hands of the 8th season of Game of Thrones.

That would be stupid. Here he needed to make his own 8th season and he wanted to end it grandly. Oh God! The 8th season!! even thinking of those episodes gave Gawen a headache.

So in this month, all he did was read books and direct Endrew in horseshoe making. He and Endrew had already decided to share the profits 50-50. Endrew at first refused to accept this huge help but Gawen insisted on it.

Human resources were more important here than money. Money would flow for him soon but loyal people who only followed him would be rare here where dogs eat dogs.

He needed to be the dragon!!!

In this way a month went by as Gawen got used to the life here. He felt uncomfortable in the beginning but there was no way around it. And his handwork with the simple horseshoes was already showing signs of good return. After Coholo saw the huge advantage of having horseshoes he directed that every horse in the stable of his cavalry should have a set.

And in this way, the words got spread about these new things called horseshoes. In 2 months almost all the horses that were present in all the stables of the castle were fit with it. The people were excited and grateful for this new thing which came cheap and helped a lot.

And only Endrew was the person who took exclusive orders for this. The head blacksmith was surprised that his apprentice learnt such a useful thing from the Young Lord and he regretted a bit remembering when he showed no importance to the words of him.

Well what is gone will never come back!!

After 3 months of accumulating money, Gawen was finally ready to take his next step. And that was inserting his hands into one of the most profitable industries in all of Westeros.

Wine and good bread.

He suffered from eating stale and tasteless bread in his first meal. Thus whenever he ate bread he had to upgrade it and then place it inside his mouth. And since he could make the upgrade with very minimum extra ingredients, he decided to share this taste with people.

Bread was eaten by everybody and this would be a huge turnover for him.

And wine!! Well wine is wine.

Here wine was not a God.

It was The God.
