Volume 8 : CHAPTER – Chapter 12 : A PRINCESS’S DREAM

ALICIA ASCALON ASHBORN

Arya was taken aback when we informed her about the events at the guild. The news of me becoming the leader of an adventurer clan, comprising only two other members, Regis and Hana, left her astonished.

“That’s so wonderful. I wish I could also be a part of that adventurer clan as well.” Arya said with a sigh, but she already knew her royal status and duties prohibited her to do so.

She asked me about my plans and how I was going to expand and recruit other members. But I had no definite reply for those except having some vague ideas myself.

It would have been so easy if it was just a game and recruiting for my clan just by seeing their game plays and score stats. But now dealing with real people, I had to be extra careful.

Fortunately, in the palace, I could see through the documents and records of how other top guilds work and how they take their jobs.

In the morning we were enjoying tea and some cake with Arya in the garden. Hana was playing chasing butterflies in the huge garden and would be repeating that activity for quite a while from how happy she looked doing it. Arya would also tell me how the annulment of slavery in the kingdom was proceeding and the results. The information was a bit concerning as many rose in revolt, especially the slave traders.

But the new reforms were widely accepted. Perhaps it would still take time for the whole system to amalgamate into society. It's not like I was hoping for a smooth transition, there was sure to be resistance. But seems like Arya was handling it all well. All I wanted for her was not to get hurt or overworked in the process even if I was the one who asked her to do so.

Regis would sometime steal glances at Arya still looking for an opportunity to tell her about her princess identity. Looks like the guild master’s words had too great an effect on her.

I too was guilty of not telling Arya that I was planning of leaving soon or why I came to this Continent in the first place.

Arya was a diligent girl and she had always proved her bravery whether it was during the pirate’s attack on the ship or when she stood up to her uncle. And even knowing that she could handle herself on her own, I would be worried.

Out of the blue, an idea came to my mind, I asked, "Arya, would you like to try something?"

The suddenness of my question surprised everyone, as I had not mentioned anything about it before.

From my dimensional storage, I took out a pair of magical guns. It was something I had built with my father back in the dungeon house. It was one of the perfect weapons for myself where I could deal with the enemy from afar. But unfortunately, I was never able to use it because the swords won’t let me.

⸻Aren’t they just too conscious about themselves!?

Once the guns were out in the open for everyone to see, a collective exclamation of "What is this?" echoed in unison.

“It’s a gun. Don’t they have this here?”

“I can’t say anything about the demon continent but the term does sound familiar to an ongoing weapon research I had heard in the dwarf kingdom.” Arya said trying to jog through her memory.

While listening to Arya, a thought crossed my mind—perhaps one of my reincarnated classmates was working on creating a gun.

“So did they succeed?” I asked eagerly. I couldn’t help but think I had won by completing the gun first to keep my pride intact as a magical genius.

“You see recently the Dwarf Kingdom vanished from the map so there has been no further news.”

“Wait! An entire kingdom just vanished in one night?” Regis was confused.

“That’s still a mystery for all of the other nations who lost contact with them and we were also one of them who had to suffer dire losses in trade.” Arya was exasperated to remember the numbers she lost. She was truly the princess of the Kingdom known for its trade ventures.

“Arya I want you to try it. Will you?” I asked.

"But I'm not quite familiar with its operation," Arya confessed. Yet, her eyes gleamed with a mesmerizing curiosity, similar to a child eagerly eyeing their favorite toy on a store shelf.

“I will teach you.” I also wanted my work to be used by someone.

The guns back in earth were easy to use with just a trigger and bullets loaded in it. Not that I had ever got the chance to use one in my previous life. But this magical gun had much more advanced features and used bullets manifested by concentrating magic precisely into shape. The only drawback was that it needed a lot of concertation and magical analysis skill to operate the gun to aim with precision.

If a person with no talent attempted, there could be a chance that the magical bullet would blast inside the barrel of the gun itself, in case of a magic overload. Even if it was fired properly, an unstable bullet would dissipate its magic power before actually hitting the target.

But Arya with her mystic eyes and talent to analyze and understand magic was the perfect candidate. Within a few seconds Arya’s butler, Alfred had prepared a ground for our practice and cleared the place. Arya quickly understood the working process with the explanation I gave to her. At first, she had decided to use a single gun alone for testing purposes.

Arya began infusing magic inside the gun. The magical gun then in response emanated a faint, ethereal glow.

Its frame was crafted from magitite ore, to enhance its magic absorbing capacity. The barrel of the gun slowly charges with a swirling blue mist that glows with a vibrant, pulsating light. The mist within the barrels dances and changes colors, reflecting Arya’s magical energy being channeled through it.

When Arya thought the barrel was full she beckoned to us that she was going to fire. Pressing the trigger slightly, emanated a thin blue ray but when it hit the tree target. A huge center hole was perfectly burnt into it.

“⸻Was that me?” Arya couldn’t help but be baffled. Despite possessing such delicate magic control, her magical powers were too less to cast a strong combat magic spell.

Regis as an archer was taken aback by the power of the magical guns.

“That’s nothing, my arrows could have taken out that entire tree and everything behind it in an instant?” Regis said proudly.

But isn’t that just barbaric? The point of having a gun is to deal precise damage and not overdo it. I was sure of it by looking at Arya’s fascination for the gun. She was happy with the results as well.

It was almost like I could see Regis biting her whole finger in jealousy.

“Don’t worry. I was planning to make a special weapon for you and Han as well once I found time.”

“Really!” It was rare for Regis to not hide her excitement.

“But, I am so glad the gun worked properly on the first try. The experiment was a success.” I cheered.

“What you haven’t tested it before... What if some kind of accident would have happened?” Regis asked me with a brisk face. Did she soon forget that I have to make her weapon as well?

“I would have easily healed Arya if she got hurt.” I tried dodging the question but Regis won’t stop giving me a stern look.

“Alicia, this magical device is amazing. I can’t believe you can also make magical weapons like these.”

It was a big moment for me, being praised by the princess of a kingdom even if she was my friend now.

“I would be worried about your safety when I would have left. So, I want you to keep it.” The words almost came out of my mouth while celebrating the success.

“⸻Are you leaving?” Arya asked in oneness. Her demeanor became stiff and her face lost all color.

“Yes.”

Regis nodded when Arya looked at her.

“And when would be that?”

“As soon as we are ready to depart.” I did not wanted to delay without any important reason and so it was best to be honest.

“I see.” Arya could not meet her eye to us. And as if quickly trying to cover and pick herself, she collects her voice. “Thank you for the gun, and I will make sure to master it. Now why don’t we continue with our tea. The things I would like to talk about had suddenly grown so much that I would hate wasting any time.” Arya apparently made herself look back to normal.

Unfortunately for Arya, she had to leave us soon since she was in charge of tonight’s banquet. Also, the entire palace looked in a rush to throw a big banquet tonight.

All the nobles of the Stark Kingdom would have been attending to celebrate the King’s recovery and it would work to relieve the tension of everyone by showing that everything is fine in the palace now.

Ultimately we had decided to leave the palace in the afternoon and not get in anyone’s way. Our next agenda included for this afternoon was to receive Caige and Hana at the seaport.

How did I know about their arrival? It was through the magic storage bag I gave to Caige. Even though I trusted her with all of that money as her employer I needed to keep a good eye on all the transactions. And Caige already knew about this and had no arguments about it.

The bag also had a tracking feature and could only be primarily used by Caige and Maia. So, once Al told me about the movement of the bag’s location, I knew Caige would be arriving today. The sea routes were now safe for her to get here since I had taken care of all the pirates.

Having already informed Arya about their arrival, she was ready to welcome them too in the palace as her guests. Arya also seemed interested in Caige’s skills since they had already met before at the auction.

“I would give a surprise welcome to Maia and I will play a lot with her today.” Hana looked forward to meeting with them as well and I was glad she could think like that for herself.

Within a few minutes, the port was clogged with boats and huge ships and from the top of one ship, a shadow appeared right above us.

Maia dropped in like lightning using her beast powers beside Hana and lifted her while hugging her. Caige too was waving at us from up and quickly got down from the ship the normal way.

“Maia, how can you not be tired even after exploring the entire ship and watching the sea the whole day?” Caige seemed to be a bit dizzy from the sea travels. It almost seemed like she didn’t like ships or had a previous bad experience with them.

“Caige, it's good to see you came. Did everything go alright?” I asked.

“Yes, the sales were so high that the amount people were ready to spend almost sounds dreamy, just to get their hands on your healing potions. And thanks for taking care of the pirates, and I got to hear a lot about it including the stuff about someone being referred to as the White Queen.” Caige teased.

I was too embarrassed to say anything. Was the news this far spread that it reached the shores of the demon continent?

“⸻But I am really glad you made the sea trip safe for me.” It was really rare for Caige to show such warmth.

After wishing each other and meeting like this even if it had been only a few days since we departed it felt good and all new to me.

We had decided to continue our discussion while eating in an inn and could have private space to talk to each other.

“What the one who bought all the healing potions was the princess of this kingdom. If I had known I might have doubled or quadrupled the price…” Caige stood up in surprise and folding her hands fell lazily on the seat. Her thirst to earn money seemed endless.

In there I informed Caige about myself becoming the adventure clan leader and that we were the guests of the princess as well and they were invited too.

“That’s good news. With the dungeon in our hands, we can have a good amount of resources to use in the future. I can’t believe you could end up with such a fine deal just by clearing a dungeon. By bringing the guild as our first user we can take control over the entire market of potions with our solid product. Just leave all the negotiations to me.” Caige was fired up after receiving the good news.

I knew only Caige could comprehend my reason for becoming a clan leader and going in for buying the dungeon. Even if it would be costly I am sure my purse should cover it easily. And once we are all set up there can only be profit to be made.

After all, to earn money, I would have to invest first.

“So, did you achieve your objective before coming here?” I inquired Caige since I asked her to expand the working force under her. While I would still remain anonymous as the creator, Caige and Maia would be at the forefront as the face. So, obviously, a large force is required to work under her as well.

“Yes, it's all done, even though they might not be enough for now from what is about to come. But they are all ready to give their all. New people would be arriving here to become a part of our organization within a week.”

“That’s good.” I was a bit concerned about meeting them. Being around too many people still makes me anxious.

“I want to propose that we should open a clan even in the merchant’s guild to make our sales official from now. I am sure we could even get the help of the princess because now we would require both land, shop, and equipment to become independent.”

Caige was right, they could not entirely depend on me as I have my own objectives. It would be good if they could produce the potion on their own by processing the magitite ore. Since we would have to consider the whole process from mining to transportation. Then finding skilled alchemists and magicians to work on making the potions and finally those who will sell them in the market.

Hence, it was going to be a big pain. And that’s what Caige is here for. But that would still be too far from what we have in the present. It was much important to create a demand in the market and get our product known out there.

We cheers on our future profits, with drinks. Even though I was still drinking fruit juice. Caige and Maia already seemed to be used to booze. Regis being an elven princess found these things frivolous so she got the same fruit juice as me and I would not let Hana have any of it.

Caige and I further discussed and planned our next steps carefully. Regis, Hana, and Maia were least interested in these business talks and were focused on the good food that they kept on ordering in bulk.

By evening we had reached back the palace. I had already sent a letter to the adventurer’s guild requesting to further our discussion about taking over the dungeon and forming a clan under the merchants association as well. I can already see the guild master making a weird troubled face again.

Arya quickly came to greet us and since she was already familiar with Caige and Maia she welcomed them and thanked them for selling her the potions at that time. In a way, it was through Caige that Arya got to meet us.

“Everyone I have something I want you to try for tonight’s banquet.” Arya saying that led us to a big room.

The number of dresses lined up was phenomenal and the maids looked after the dresses. Arya then signaled to one of the maids brought forward a bunch of dresses equal to our numbers.

“I would be really happy if you wear this in tonight’s banquet. I want my guest to look the best after all.” Arya beamed.

It took a little bit of convincing but everyone finally agreed. Caige, Maia, and Hana instantly picked their favorites.

Regis after some sorting picked a flat one-piece dress of bright red color.

I usually would have preferred my usual dress which I was wearing as it is easy to move in. But I am sure, adhering to the dress code would make me stand out less.

Others had already gone to try their dresses and get a perfect size. Finally, a gown crafted entirely in pristine white caught my eye.

“That’s a very good choice. I think this would really suit you.” Arya complimented my choice.

I still wondered why she was still here making me self-conscious whether I should try it here or not. Arya kept on intently looking at me saying to go forward with trying it and not to worry.

Not able to decide I finally asked Al, to copy the dress, and making a few changes of my own I used my web to reproduce it.

“Here I got it and I am sure this will perfectly fit me. I can now wear it directly at the time of the party.” I smiled at Arya thinking I did exactly what she wanted me to.

“Of course. Are you going to wear the mask as well?” Arya laughed it off.

“Yes. Otherwise, I am not confident enough to remain in a party all by myself.” I did not wanted to trouble others because of me and let them have their own fun.

Usually, the mask would help me not go overboard with my magic power and hide my status. Perhaps the best use was that it helped me to blend in the background and take it easy. And also, because it’s a gift from my mother so I want to keep it on me all the time.

But I could see the dejected look on Arya’s face as well. Was she expecting something from me?

ARYA STARK

Ahhhh! I had been so looking forward to seeing the real form of Alicia by helping them choose a dress on the spot. But she built her own dress from her magic. That was amazing in itself, but I wanted her to put on the dress and remove the mask.

How embarrassing and childish this has made me!

Have I still not won her trust enough to do it? I am sure that the white gown would look fabulous on her if she was out there in her white ashen hair.

I was now at the venue of the party which was the throne room itself. The room was filled with nobles who had come to the palace and gathered to celebrate with the king. Such gatherings were also important to know what everyone have been up to and that the king still holds the highest authority over all of them.

Stained glass with a complicated structure was attached to the ceiling, and when the light magic tools were turned on, it created a mesmerizing effect of cascading layers of rainbow across the entire hall.

Once everyone had greeted the king who was sitting on the throne as the host. I took my leave to mingle in the crowd and learn whatever I could about their activities. It was also one of my many princessly duties.

I could see Caige wearing a brown suit with big buttons and a red tie. Long black pants. Her entire attire reflected her sophisticated taste and scholarly disposition.

I could already see Caige involved with some giant merchant nobles introducing herself with the name of the merchant guild she was forming with Alicia as its head and also showing them the blue healing potions. I am sure she won’t find any free time soon while explaining it to them.

She seems able to easily spot the right place to get what she wants. And even if I know that she really does not intend to sell it to them. By using the noble’s and big merchant’s assessment, she could get an idea of how to rate the value of the product.

Sometimes it really makes me wonder where she comes from given her extensive knowledge. Maybe I will help her with it later too.

Beside her, all time was Maia, her companion and also a demi-human. She has a certain charm in the long golden frock she wore and on top of it a tight jacket. Also, I liked the way she was feeding on the sweets while her ears shivered in delight and at the same time also keeping an eye on Caige as well. Sometimes, their companionship also makes me feel jealous.

As for Regis, she was already the talk of the banquet. No one had expected an elf here. And miss Regis possessed an untouched beauty figure. I knew elves were very beautiful beings. But with her fine facial features and delicate body. I wouldn’t be surprised if she came out and claimed to be a noble elf or an elf princess.

Of course, with that red one-piece gown that fits her slender form like a second skin, it accentuated her graceful curves. The dress pulled in tight at the waist, flattering her curvaceous figure, and also featured delicate embroideries of silver and gold thread, depicting intricate elven motifs. Perhaps her red hair was the most striking feature of her complementing the dress.

Now that she was acting a lot more lady like her long ears stood out too. In fact, looking at them even a little longer made me want to touch and feel their softness.

She was crowded by both young nobles and those interested to know of her presence thinking she might be a foreign delegate. I can understand her pain since I have been there myself.

Hana too was busy choosing among food items with Maia and she was wearing a proper dress for her age while seemingly unaware of how devilishly cute she looked. It almost stirred up a desire to protect her.

I was still looking for Alicia but I could find her nowhere.

Did she make the decision not to come at the last moment? I find it hard to believe that she would miss the banquet when her other friends are going.

I tried roaming around a bit when some of the few old important nobles stopped me in my footsteps.

“Princess Arya. Greetings. It has been so long since we have met at a party like this.”

“All the arrangements are beyond what we had expected and magnificent as always.”

“That’s so polite of you to say, gentlemen,” I said in response for formality. “So, tell me how can I help you today.”

“You have been quite busy lately, haven’t you princess?”

On listening to that I needed to keep my façade up and pretend to ignore it.

“You see, we had recently heard that you had a few guests visiting. While we saw each one of them. I had especially heard there was one with exceptional healing abilities and was also the one who healed the king, which no one else could.”

The nobles kept on pestering while praising whatever they saw but also trying to collect information by dropping in with questions. Of course, even though I did my best to suppress the information, I can’t stop the rumors and their imagination from running wild.

“We know the Highness is keeping their identity a secret. But I am sure we are one of the most trusted of his highness and would like to know more about the healer and the magic they use.”

“Princess, you have also taken quite a bold step in eradicating slavery like that without informing or consulting any of us. Please try to go easy on us merchants before making such a bold decision yourself. You are only just a little girl. It might come to bite you later in your reign when you realize what you are losing in this deal.”

“Don’t you believe that keeping such a talent hidden and not using them would not be good for the kingdom?” The nobles weren’t going to stand down this easily.

“Goodness, I am afraid I cannot honor such a request,” I said in a definitive tone while putting on a smile.

As if I would ever give such crucial information about Miss Alicia to scumbags like these who would be ready to exploit her at any given opportunity.

“Oh! Why is that?” one of them asked rudely but also did not let their disdain show on their face for me.

“It’s so that we can adjust to the changing times and not get swept by it. You can rest easy because I have only the welfare of the kingdom in my mind constantly.” My confidence completely overwhelmed them.

As if these monkeys ever think anything of the welfare of people except for filling their own pockets. Even though they are honest businessmen with principles and so were important assets to the kingdom.

So, it was my duty to honor them and keep them in check at the same time.

“Princess you do not need to invest so much of your time and energy working for this kingdom. You are a beautiful young lady and could also depend on us for our advice. We are sure our experience will only bear great fruits for you.”

Of course, everyone was here jealous of my success and my talents. And I was the kind who liked doing things my own way than becoming their puppet.

“Indeed, you have a point. As a member of the Stark royal family, I have been blessed with privileges since birth. Everything has been handed down to me on a silver platter. I am well aware that I would never need to lift a finger to get my hands on anything I want to, should I continue along the path before me.”

“It’s good that you are able to see that too. That’s why we find it difficult to understand.” One of the ministers interjected.

“But I just can’t give up on my duties. These recent circumstances have led me to seek out something that I can finally accomplish for myself. I have long desired for something that I wanted to earn through my own blood, sweat, and tears. That is my dream; to succeed father, the King and make this into a more prosperous kingdom. I hope you will all continue to guide me down that path.”

“I see… well keep up the good work.” All the nobles were dumbfounded to speak anything further.

Finally, I was able to give them the slip with that.

But in the back, I could see my butler Alfred dabbing his eyes with napkins.

“Alfred, why are you crying?”

“Seeing you grow so fast princess, I could not hold myself back.” Alfred replied after which I sent him away to wash his face.

After dealing with those worthless nobles, I sought a breath of fresh air. Slipping away from the party, I unlatched the gate leading to the outdoor balcony passage. The night sky stretched above me, adorned with a tapestry of twinkling stars. And in that calm atmosphere, cold wind grazed through my exposed shoulders leaving me feeling all tingly over my body.

On the ledge of the balcony, Alicia was quietly standing gazing at the stars.

“Is the party already over?” She asked noticing my presence.

In the darkness, I could still perfectly see Alicia. Especially her red eyes that gave the impression to be glowing right under that mask.

“I just wanted some fresh air.” Saying that I joined Alicia beside her.

“Alicia, do you really want to leave? If you want you can stay here and I will make sure everything you need will be present. So, isn’t there any way I can make you stay here by my side?” I wondered what could be the perfect words that would make Alicia stay. Wouldn’t I just be lonely again if she left? I did not want to complain about my duties but being with them somehow blew off that heavy responsibility on my shoulders.

“Arya I cannot be tied down to one place. Not for anyone and not even for you.” For a second her voice felt threatening to me. And the glow in her eyes sharpened.

Alicia continued to say, “It’s not like I wouldn’t like to be here for a little more. But there is someone I have been looking for. That’s the reason I came to this place.”

“You could have just asked me and I would have sent my men in every direction to look for them.” I was desperate and now I was not even hiding it anymore.

“It’s not that I do not trust your word. But I should be the one to get to her first.” She said calmly.

Listening to Alicia for the first time speak passionately about something. I could feel the emotion in her voice and see it appear on her face despite the mask blocking the view. It was only an impression but I knew she was smiling underneath.

“I understand. But will you come to see me again after you have found that person?” I asked in earnest.

“I am sure we will meet again because we are friends now.”

I had been rejected. But somehow, I feel good knowing that my worries are useless and we will have many opportunities to meet again. And I was not the only one seeing Alicia that way and she felt the same for me.

“So, the two of you are here.” A voice from the back suddenly caught me off guard. I quickly rubbed my eyes but it looks like it was already too late.

“Honestly, humans can be so rough and foolish, It was good that I never attended any of these parties back at home. I stomped on everyone's feet hoping they would run away but they became even more crazed.”

But while complaining Regis gave a look at me and stopped speaking.

“Alicia, why is Arya like that? Don’t tell me you said something insensitive to her again.”

“Not at all.”

“It's all fine miss Regis. I wanted to ask Alicia if she could let me make the preparation for your leaving and look after your travels. Since you both are unfamiliar with these lands.”

“I guess it’s alright.” Regis too seemed to have no problem.

Just as I was planning to join the party again and walk away.

“Arya… listen there’s something I want you to know. And even if don’t know it’s the right time, waiting any longer would make me feel more uneasy.” Regis then stopped me.

“Yes, what it is.”

“My full name is Regis Ascalon and I am the second princess of the Ascalon elven kingdom. There you know it now too.” Regis took a deep breath and all the pressure on her vanished in an instant.

“Huh…” I had a premonition something like that but it would come true like this was something I had never thought of.

“Haahaaa…” I couldn’t stop myself from laughing over the coincidence, leaving Regis and Alicia confused.

“Then I guess us two princesses need to do our best for our kingdoms.”

“What’s so funny?” We were then suddenly joined by three more people. Caige, Maia, and Hana who followed Regis in here.

All of us had somehow gathered here together in one place. It all started when I landed on the Demon Continent and I got to know such wonderful people. Therefore, until they leave I should make the best out of it, even if I know I will miss them just the more.

So, even after being rejected, I was still in love with what I wanted to do from the very start. To help Alicia in any way possible. I tried to learn more about what she wanted to do next.

So, I asked Alicia what they were going to discuss with the guild master tomorrow and what were the products they were going to sell first in the merchant guild. Of course, it would be a big waste if our kingdom does not become a benefactor and the production house for the sales of healing potions.

“Alicia why don’t you set up the head branch of your merchant clan in this kingdom and I will make sure to help you in any way possible.”

Alicia then looked at Caige for her confirmation and she nodded, “I won’t be able to get my hands on any other place better than here.”

As we further discussed, then suddenly somehow the topic of the gun which Alicia gave to me came up. And I ended up showing it to Caige and the others.

“So, even the gun is made from the magitite ores.”

“Yes, that’s what Alicia told me.” I responded to Caige’s question.

“If she can make the potion and powerful magical weapons like this and at the same time is taking control over all the assets of the dungeon.”

The moment Caige spelled those words out in sequence. The two of us were struck by the same terrifying idea.

This girl who sometimes appeared to be aloof of this world or tried to appear harmless, was thinking several moves ahead of us in the future.

Caige without wasting any second asked, “Alicia, do we really need to take out magitite ores to make the healing potions from the dungeon.”

“No, I think I have already more than enough in my storage to keep us in stock for at least five years.” And Alicia meant in an amount to support an entire continent’s demand.

“Then, the large amount of magitite ores you want to use from the dungeon is it to build weapons like these.” I proposed the follow-up question.

My question caught Regis’s ears and Maia and Hana’s attention as well.

Alicia without looking at us, her gazes followed a falling star in the sky.

“So, you noticed. I wanted to keep this update for later. But besides healing potion, I want to manufacture all kinds of strong magical weapons made of magitite as well.”

Just possessing a few simple weapons made out of magitite ores was considered a great treasure of the kingdom.

“Then do you want to orchestrate a war or become a superpower? And if weapons and healing potions of the best quality are mass-produced by a single entity. Then they can easily decide the winner of any conflict.” My words would almost come close to describing not just a king-maker but a kingdom-maker.

Alicia then slowly stepped on top of the ledge to gain a higher ground but mostly to enjoy the cool wind. Lifting off her mask, her white hair appears and falls off through her shoulders stretching down all the way to her waist.

This was the first time I saw her this up close in her real form. Her white gown flowing with grace, featured delicate layers of ethereal fabric that cascaded to the ground. Adorned with intricate lacework and shimmering embroidery, the dress seemed to shimmer like freshly fallen snow in the moonlight.

A slender silver belt cinched at her waist, enhancing her graceful silhouette. Long, sheer sleeves draped gently over her arms, accentuating her delicate movements as she tried to shift the hair that had flown and stuck to her face behind her ears.

Her porcelain skin, bathed in the pale silver light, emitted an otherworldly luminescence. A serene smile graced her lips and her eyes looked straight at us without hiding or revealing anything.

At first, I only found her magic dazzling. But now she looks even more dazzling to me, surpassing even the stars in the sky.

“I do not want to favor just one group or do something pointless as determining the outcome of a war. I would personally crush both sides myself and set an example for others to let everyone know that someone is watching whom they can no longer defy.”

Alicia’s words were menacing, but none of us could stop ourselves from looking away from her. What she said could have been selfish or considered arrogant, but I did not felt wanting to resist being a part of that flow.

Until that moment, I had only heard of stories of great battles fought over beauties, and I would call them foolish beings for doing such meaningless acts. But I was not wrong when I first time called her the ⸻’White Queen.’

It was the first instance in which I witnessed someone so beautiful and enchanting that I would willingly start a war myself for her sake if she would asked me to or if someone ever dared to steal her away from me.
