Chapter 7-Dragon!

Lu Jian was the grandson of a golden dragon who was banished into this ascension world known as the Mystic Energy ascension world.

Like how those in a lower world could ascend to a higher world and those in a higher world could ascend to an ascension world, and then they would ascend to the upper realm. The opposite is also possible, although much, much harder.

Fortunately, the dragon was only in the Will integration realm so the backlash given by the heavenly dao when he descended was rather light. The dragon later encountered a young man and became great buddies. Later following him back to the upper realm, after leaving behind a daughter in that ascension world.

He then instructed his daughter to continue aiding the family of the man he encountered, and told her to pass this tradition on to each generation from now on.

This was dutifully done so, in fact this was the main reason why the rest of the family’s sealed ancestors were not activated. Lu Jian helped protect and conceal the family as they moved to the outskirts of the continent, away from their original residence.

The only reason he did not help them get back to cultivating was because he feared that the entire world would once again oppose their family, and at that time he was unsure if they could handle it considering the fact that their patriarch had died during the war and no one could guide them in their techniques.

Now, 50000 years later. In a dim cave abode in the territory of the Eternal Flame and Torrent sect, there was an old man cultivating in a lotus position wearing incredibly dirty clothes.

Suddenly, his eyes opened wide.

“Such a large fluctuation, it appears a genius has appeared in the Jiang Family again.Maybe we can rise again.” The man shot up from his lotus sitting position and arrived near the ancestral shrine no more than 5 seconds later.

Noticing Jiang Lu standing in front of the ancestral shrine, he was afraid of scaring him by suddenly appearing and instead decided to arrive close to the ancestral shrine and walk the rest of the way there.

Using his divine sense to quickly scan the ancestral shrine, he felt a familiar presence inside the ancestral shrine guiding the beautiful woman who was experiencing a Dao epiphany inside.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Excuse me, kid. Is that your wife in there?” Lu Jian parted his pursed lips to say in a slightly hoarse voice.

He instantly noticed Jiang Lu tensing up and wondered if he had perhaps misspoke.

“Revered Senior, is there something you want from me or my wife? Did we perhaps disturb you? If so I sincerely apologise, please spare us.” Jiang Lu said in a slightly hesitant tone as he reached for the knife in his back pocket.

“Calm down junior, drawing your weapon would only aggravate the situation and you would be dead if you did this to anyone else.” Lu Jian said upon noticing Jiang Lu reaching for something in his back pocket.

“I am Lu Jian, a retainer of the Jiang Family.” Lu Jian said with an incredibly calm tone.

“Well, I am Jiang Lu and I guess the current patriarch of the Jiang Family? It is great that such a powerful cultivator like you is able to help us on our path of cultivation.” Jiang Lu’s mouth curved into an upwards crescendo, his muscles relaxing as he instantly folded at the waist to show his respect.

‘If this random retainer of our family is so damn fucking strong, what am I going to do if one of them rebel and try to take my position as patriarch? I have to start cultivating soon’ Jiang Lu clenched his fist as he felt the passion in his heart get set ablaze.

Meanwhile, Jiang Fei was walking to Feng JinYang’s cultivation room to test his spirit roots.

In the Mystic Energy ascension world, talent was primarily based on a person’s spirit roots until the Dantian Unifying Realm where they would be given the chance to enter the Dao source of the most suitable Dao for them and gain an ability related to that.

“So all I need to do is place my hand onto this crystal and see the colour it shines?” Jiang Fei asked in a slightly higher voice with his eyebrows furrowed.

“I don’t believe I need to repeat myself, just place your hand on the crystal and wait. The brighter the colour the higher the purity of your roots, the colour of the light signifies the type of Qi most suited to you.” Feng JinYang rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance as he had to repeat himself countless times.

Seeing Senior Feng’s blatant eyeroll, Jiang Fei’s bright and curious eyes quickly dimmed down and he had to bottle up his numerous questions. Then, he slowly stretched out his right hand to hover over the colourless crystal. Drawing in a deep breath as his chest puffed out, he mentally prepared himself for whatever result he would get.

No big deal, just determines whether I can cultivate at all. I am basically the hope of the Jiang Family. Ok calm down, I will just leave it up to fate. Jiang Fei thought as he took deep breaths to steady himself.

Closing his eyes, he decided to tell his results from how Senior Feng reacted. His right hand then enveloped the crystal in its entirety.

“Oh… Well, it is passable I guess. No surprise since our family hasn’t had a cultivator for so long. Even then, the heavenly staircase appears every 10000 years with it last appearing 8700 years ago. You may have to wait for the next one after the next.” Feng Jinyang monotonously said with a drawn out sigh at the end.

Seeing the results were at least passable Jiang Fei quickly opened his eyes and was met with a decently bright multicoloured light. Indicating that he was suitable for all the Qi types and that his Qi absorption rate would be rather fast.

He changed his gaze towards Senior Feng and inquired about what manuals he could choose.

“Slow down there kid, we have to test your Dao comprehension so we can determine if you take the intent, dao or dual path. The dual path has the most promise but that doesn’t mean the other paths are terrible. Come on now” Feng Jinyang said as he ventured into another room to grab something.
