After having asked Peter a flurry of questions, He couldn’t hide his smile. "I got an idea from someone to try online dating," He exclaimed. "At first I thought, this is the useless idea ever, why go online when you can speak to any of these ladies here at school.
But guess what, I found someone and I want you to meet her." He looked at me as if expecting a refusal, but I agreed. He then picked up his phone, dialed his girlfriend's number and agreed to meet with her. They agreed to meet in town sometime later in the afternoon. Later that day, we went to town and she was waiting for us at mugg and bean.
As we approached her, she greeted us with a beautiful smile, and I could instantly see why Peter was so smitten. Her beauty was captivating, her skin was a flawless canvas of light and smooth tones, and her big round eyes shone brightly with warmth.
I looked at Peter, and his gaze was fixed adoringly on his girlfriend, his smile mirroring hers in perfect harmony. It was clear that these two were deeply, unmistakably in love - the kind of love that radiates from every glance, every smile, and every shared moment.
We sat down, and Peter cleared his throat to announce the introduction. With a gentle tone and his deep, resonant voice, he said, 'Cedric, this is my girlfriend Shalom.' He paused for a moment, his eyes warm with affection as he gazed at her, while giving a warm smile.
'Shalom, this is Cedric, a dear friend of mine I've been eager to introduce you to.' He smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he gestured between us, creating a sense of warmth and connection."
As I extended my hand to shake hands with her, I gave a warm smile and said, "well, it's nice to finally meet you Shalom." She smiled warmly, looked at Peter with an eye that says, Peter I guess you said a lot about me. She looked at me again and replied, "it's nice to finally meet you too Cedric."
As we ordered drinks, I couldn't wait any longer but to ask a burning question that was in my heart. "Shalom, tell me, how did you guys meet? I know I heard a bit from Peter, but I always want to hear such stories from the women's perspective. So tell me."
"Well, mmmmmh." She paused, closed her eyes, then shielded her face with her hands. Her shyness was on full display as she did that, and we couldn't stop but laughed at her. Then she took courage and finally spoke.

"Well to be honest Cedric. I had given-up on dating. All the guys that I met were not loving. Most of them were after my money, and so I said, why then am I dating when these guys don't seem to care about me, but my money. Then at one point, a friend of mine said, why don't you try online dating.
So I downloaded an app, filled all the required details, and boom they were a number of guys who reached out. Amongst all of them, Peter seemed to be authentic and genuine. And so I chose to chat and get to know him. That's how it happened Cedric. Funny isn't it" She smiled, looked downwards to cover her shyness.
She then continued, "online dating has it's own pitfalls to be honest, some people don't really tell the truth about themselves, nor do they post real pictures of themselves. At the same it has its own advantages, for example, it is easy and convenient. It does give a glimpse of personality and you can date someone who have the same faith and beliefs. It's cool though. "
We just noded in agreement to what she said, and it was true. Then hours passed by without noticing, since we were having a good time, and after I realized that it was getting dark. I asked to excuse myself, so l can go back to the hostels. So Shalom offered to give me a ride back home and she dropped both of us at campus.
Two weeks later, it was announced at school that there was a camp coming up, and every one was welcome to join aslong they can afford to pay for the camp fees. So, I convinced all my friends to join and I knew this was going to be a funny experience for us.
The first one to like the idea was Stanley, whose reason was to just go out and relax without having to think of assignments or projects. And the rest of the guys also agreed. I called Frank too to convince him and his guys to join the camp. Unfortunately a lot of Frank's guys were unavailable, and so only Frank and Trish could come.
A day before the camp, I packed my stuff, and I couldn't wait to go. The night seemed to drag on as anticipation grew. In the morning, I rushed out with my bags toward the bus. Upon arrival, I saw that my friends were already there, with bright smiles on their faces. I could sense the palpable anticipation in the air; everyone was eagerly awaiting this day.
Ten minutes later, they realized that the bus was unable to accommodate everyone. The number of students that came to register that morning for the trip was unbelievable. This was the first time in the history of the school to have a camp that was well attended. They needed 3 buses to accommodate everyone.
8:00 in the morning, the buses departed. The trip was expected to take five hours to reach our final destination. However, an unfortunate mishap occurred when our friend Stanley boarded a different bus, separating him from the rest of us.
I'm sure the next five hours felt like an eternity for him, surrounded by strangers. You know how awkward it feels to be alone among unfamiliar faces; I'm certain that's how Stanley felt.
This trip was truly the best ever. Among us, were individuals who knew how to make the journey interesting and fun. So they suggested playing a game to liven things up. This kept me awake the whole time, as I usually take a nap whenever we travel for more than an hour.
