Lich Research Entries of "Players" and the conflict.

Log Entry 74, Cycle 2034

Subjects designated "Players" continue to exhibit anomalous behavior. Their primary motivation, designated "XP," correlates directly to the depletion of life force from non-Player entities. Initial attempts at assimilation proved unsuccessful; the necrotic processes I employed failed to replicate their reanimation protocols. Further study required, but their methods remain elusive. Their individual strengths have already doubled since their appearance, which is unusual. Perhaps this growth is not linear as I first imagined. They could very well pose future issue. A note must be made to monitor their growth.

Log Entry 78, Cycle 2047

The "Players" have reached a power level that is… concerning. They dispatch my standard undead servitors with alarming efficiency. Their capacity for growth is far beyond standard mortal parameters. I had planned to study them more, but now I have to deal with them. My research will have to take a back seat. My focus turns to their destruction. Interestingly, kingdoms previously hostile to my dominion have approached. They propose an alliance; a synergistic exchange of my arcane understanding for the annihilation of the "Player" infestation. I must admit, the prospect is somewhat amusing that the mortals crawl to my feet. I accept the offer, with ulterior motives of course, which I must say it will benefit me greatly. My intentions, as always, are the subjugation of this entire plane after all. I will use all means necessary for my success.

Log Entry 81, Cycle 2050

The alliance is functional, but ultimately irrelevant. The “Players” are the clear and present danger. The kingdoms are a means to an end, tools to be discarded when my goal is achieved. The primary focus now shifts to eliminating the “Player” entity. Their reanimation mechanism is still a mystery. A new strategy for total eradication must be implemented. Initial observation suggests that their ‘respawn point’ is connected with specific locations. My skeleton legions shall be deployed to probe the borders and test the waters. They are a distraction and a test.

Log Entry 82, Cycle 2051

It is time. The data is sufficient. My skeletal legions advance on the "Player’s" primary locations, while I establish a series of ley line convergences, designed to disrupt and ultimately sever the flow of their vital energy back to their respawn points. Their power derives from some connection with the fabric of reality itself, I had initially suspected it, and now confirmed it. These locations will be cut to the outside. It is time to observe, and make a move.

Battle Log: Final Engagement

The "Players" converge. They present a united force, a coalition of disparate fighting styles. They believed that they would come out on top. They were wrong. But this I observed and took notes of their movements. My forces are strategically arrayed. The skeletal legions form a mobile blockade, channeling the "Players" towards the designated convergence points. My magic is woven through the landscape, solidifying and amplifying the ley line disruption.

* Phase 1: Containment. The skeletal legions engage, absorbing the initial assault. The "Players" dispatch them with relative ease, which is understandable. I did not expect them to put up a fight. However, their actions serve a purpose; a funnel into my true formation. Their tactics are clumsy, purely brute strength. No strategy. They are simply trying to push through. They are nothing more than a force of nature.

* Phase 2: Disruption. The ley line convergences activate. Energy fields warp the fabric of reality. The "Players" falter, their reanimation pathways disrupted. Their skills are of no use here. Their power source begins to waver.

* Phase 3: Termination. With the “Players” weakened and disoriented, my personal guards engage. The difference in power is beyond staggering. My necromantic energies ripple through the battlefield, turning the ground beneath them into a quagmire of bone and shadow. Their attacks are futile, their weapons glancing harmlessly off my reinforced phylactery. Their strikes were like mere insects trying to break through diamond. The final blow was swift. A focused burst of necrotic energy. It is not that I cannot be hurt, its the the power from the source that makes me such a formidable opponent. The combined forces of the "Players" are annihilated from existence.

* Results: All "Player" entities eradicated. Reanimation protocols rendered inoperable. The ley line convergences remain active, securing their demise, with no hope for a return.

Log Entry 90, Cycle 2053

The "Player" infestation is resolved. The world is now mine to reshape. It is merely a prelude to greater ambitions. The kingdoms are now under my control. The mortals will serve me without question. My next course of action, to search for more power. I will need to find something, from this era to help with my cause. The knowledge of the players will come in handy. Perhaps I can replicate their infinite respawn mechanisms. I should start there, and go from there. The possibilities for power are endless.
