Chapter 2 Part 2: Injustice and Hope

A day after the battle for Hope city the Sky Raider marines and the High Glaive warriors began clearing the battlefield of debris and corpses. Though it was a day of mourning for them as well for their fallen brothers and sisters with 11 knights, 213 marines, and 519 Fang wraiths dead during the battle for the city.

As a sign of respect and honor to the dead, they were buried next to each other near a hillside next to the coastal region west of the city. It is a custom for the knights to bury their dead facing the sun to allow the souls of the fallen warriors to be escorted by the angels of fate to the realm of solace to rest.

Their lord headed the ceremony of departure for their fallen with their brothers and sisters laid to rest upon the earth. Their armor collected, the bodies painted with ancient texts symbolizing a new start, their helmets left atop their tombstone as a sign of respect. Their weapons would be brought back to their families and clanmates for an honorable burial and may their experience in battle guide the next generation.

After heading the ceremony Kent returned to the city's field hospital beginning Yunno's treatment. As the blood transfer started Aisha watched in awe as Yunno slowly regained her vigor and health back while Kent slowly turned pale.

Aisha was deeply worried for Kent as he already lost nearly 3 bags worth of blood and now he is transferring more blood to Yunno. Lily smiled telling her that despite how he looks Kent is far stronger than he is showing to others.

Lily leaned back on her chair as the bio-analysis was underway she took the opportunity to talk with the girl that tamed the untameable demon.

"So, You and my brother huh..."

"Excuse me miss?"

"No use denying it girl... It's written all over your face and how you look at my brother with twinkling eyes... You love him don't you?"

"Um... I-ugh..."

"No worries, I know how you feel my bro used to be like that... Not being expressive, cold, emotionless, and logical... But he changed..."

"Changed? Since when."

"He changed about a year ago when he disappeared..."

"Wait a year... Then that must be the time when we summoned him to our world..."

The two started exchanging conversations Lily immediately realized how her brother learned compassion, integrity, morality, mercy, and humanity all thanks to the two.

Aisha told stories to her about their adventures on Ren'veil during the war of the demon king where Kent stood against the class A Black Gigagagigo and won without a scratch on him.

Or how he took on the endless hoards of scarab moths in the Joria forest that plagued the eastern kingdom even taking on the sword god Cyrus one of the 4 heavenly kings.

Without Kent's help, the Vai'len would have been annihilated, and rebuilding Ren'veil was not easy during his stay Aisha and Yunno taught him their language and culture. In return, he did the same, and more as time went by Kent learned how to be human eventually he found love.

Lily felt a sense of accomplishment knowing that because of the two girls that are in her clinic could change the boy who was dubbed the demon of the arena. She thanked Aisha for helping her brother find his path where his own family and herself had failed to set him on his path.

The scans of Aisha's blood showed the Re-weaver virus went into a hibernating state while the Vestroyer remained in an active yet passive state protecting the host body.

Lily began to hypothesize a number of theories about the Sentience of the viruses but will leave it for another time since it would be an invasion of privacy for the viruses knowing that they can go on a rampage at any given moment when their host body is threatened.

Aside from her previous injuries all defects and other ailments that Aisha had suffered over the years were all eliminated. Lily thought it would be best not to tell her what was inside Kent's blood to avoid her from panicking Aisha was given a prescription for some maintenance medicine and vitamins to help her body adjust and grow further in more ways than one.

After some time the transfusion was complete and Yunno was back to full health Lily helped her sit upright the priestess slowly opened her eyes when she saw her friend standing up again after the brutal torture they endured.

Aisha walked up to her sister and gave her a heartful hug knowing that she is okay as if nothing had happened to her.

"SIS!"

"Aisha, How are we still alive?"

"It's a miracle, Sis... We have our hero to thank over there."

Aisha pointed to the left of the bed to see Kent was pale as snow and nearly skin and bones Lily gave Kent something easy to eat as his body couldn't take any more than 5 shots worth of biomatter into his body otherwise it would cause the Viruses to go on a rampage.

After eating Kent's body recovered in a matter of minutes Lily watched as the three were re-united on that day she saw a whole different side to her brother.

From the coldhearted, bloodthirsty, and monstrous killer that everyone portrayed him to be but what she saw was a boy who was just trying to live for the sake of others.

Just before the three could talk Captain Rex entered the room reporting that the other Clan Masters had cleared the path to the capital city blockading it to prevent anyone from escaping. Though the battle was bloody Tyrannox will get the mission accomplished in the name of their progenitor and their queen.

Inside the war room, Kent and his captains along with Astaroth and the other clan masters discussed what needed to be done.

Tyrannox reported to everyone that despite the way being cleared by his warriors the villages heading to the capital were all decimated by the New Kingdom and the villagers who dared to defy their king were made an example. The villagers including the women and children were either decapitated and their heads were skewered on a spear.

Or their bodies were mangled and attached to one another forming a tree of grotesque proportions. The Fang Wraiths and the Ragnophage cleared most of the dead as they did they found a strange collar around the necks of the New Kingdom soldiers when they removed it from one of the captured soldiers.

The soldier went insane and immediately snapped his neck and blood came bursting out of his body as if it was boiling. The body then turned black and exploded as if the soldiers were modified to become a bomb injuring most of the Fang wraiths in a 30-yard radius.

Tyrannox sent one of his warriors to deliver the collar Kent took a look at it but nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. Aisha and Yunno took a look into the collar to their surprise the collar is the collar of subjugation modified with multiple spells of mind control, obedience, puppetry, marionette puppetry, Spirit manipulation, Soul sacrifice, and blood sacrifice.

These types of collars are used for slavery and to punish the criminals to think that King Nero would use such collars and mass produce it on a scale beyond their imagination is unbelievable. The collars are dangerous once they are attached they cannot be forcefully removed if so the body will rip itself apart and turn into a bomb or something much worse.

Yunno mentioned that the collars drain a large amount of manna and life energy from their hosts once drained the collars will subjugate the host to the caster which is King Nero.

The only way to remove such collars is to either have the caster remove it himself or killing the caster will free the people under his dominion. The knight captains became silent after learning the truth they all unleashed a powerful aura of murderous intent.

The one thing that the Knights of the Dragon-wolf hate the most is true slavery if they knew the truth sooner then the bloodshed and they're fallen would not have to die a needless death.

Khorn and his Fell Fang berserkers are the most upset out of knight captains as he killed more people than the other captains. He slammed his fists on the table knowing his honor had been stained by the blood of the un-willing.

For the Blood Fang clan they will fight their enemies no matter the cost but fighting against the unwilling or slaves is a massive wound to their honor knowing that they had killed many innocent people is a sin they cannot overlook.

The captains ordered the marines and their subordinates to look at the corpses of the New Kingdom soldiers after hours of searching through the corpses they all found hundreds upon thousands of collars attached to their necks.

With a blood-curdling roar Khorn was extremely furious as he and his berserkers realized they were fighting civilians. Kent did his best to reconcile his friends and battle brother out of rage and spite he took out a jagged dagger from his pocket creating an open wound on his arm.

He carved out a massive scar on his arm known as the mark of injustice these marks serve as a sole reminder that the Fell Fang Berserkers had done a grave crime against creation.

The mark is carved onto the skin of the berserker as a reminder of their crime and will demand to seek justice. The surviving Fell Fangs desired the head of the king and present it to the dead as a form of penitence.

"Lord Anthony, What have we done!!!"

"Khorn it is not your fault... We did not know... Even I did not know of this... I knew Rio was deceitful but to the point to use such absurd collars... They will pay for this... I swear it."

"Then My Lord... my Berserkers will join you in this hunt... For the people of Vai'len..."

"Yes, You will have the head of the king... But the traitor is mine..."

Khorn agreed to his request as they prepared for the biggest battle of their lives Khorn and his berserkers trained hard for the past 5 days with only a little rest and food to fill their stomachs. The marines also followed their captain and trained hard practicing their aim, coordination, communication, hand to hand combat, and their formations.

With only a few days left before the assault on the capital, word has it that more and more enslaved are being brought into the capital and being subjected to the same fate of the enslaved. With over 50,000 more soldiers being added to their ranks Kent and his Sky Raiders can fight and

It was clear as day that the sky raiders wanted revenge and they will have it with preparations nearly complete. Reinforcements arrived on the 7th day with over a dozen ships from the Sky Raider fleet along with the newly built ARC class battleship and capital of the Sky raider faction called the Storm Raider.

These ships are vast as only 3 of them exist the first being the Tallion's Shadow, The Bull Breaker, and the newborn of the three Storm Raider.

Each of these ships takes 70 years to make as they can carry billions upon their massive hull, strong enough to destroy a ship by ramming it, Hull that can withstand 20 supernovas, have enough power to fuel an entire civilization until the end of time, And possesses enough firepower and resources to wage an all-out war with any faction for 500,000 years.

These warships are the pinnacle of Zerrohnian Engineering and can only be achieved by the combined might of the Forge masters of New Dawn can make.

The Arc ships are a symbol of hope for the Zerrohnians as the Storm Raider began its descent to the planet's surface followed by its escort fleet. The armies of the Sky Raiders are a symbol of hope for all who bare witness to these massive behemoths.
