The Begining of the Battle

The Begining of the Battle

While waiting for the men to come, it gave time for James and Liz to talk.

" Liz, could I tell you something?" James asked.

" Yeah sure," said Liz pondering what he had on his mind.

" Since I first meet you, you captured my heart and it is true still to this day. What I am trying to say is I really fancy you and I may not have a ring right now, but will you marry me?" said James. Liz was shocked but yet very happy to hear him say that.

" Yes," she said smiling. James then kissed her. The kiss was quickly interrupted by clapping. James and Liz looked to see several men standing there. Liz and James blushed then James said,

" Well lets get started."

Lunch time finally came. The archers seemed to be ready but the work would be training men who didn't know how to shoot a bow. Nicholas, Richard, James, Liz, Mary, Jane, and Elizabeth all sat at the table.

" How is everything going?" asked Mary.

" Good," they all said.

" That's good," said Jane.

" We decided that we would teach women who to tend to the wounded," said Elizabeth.

" Hey that was a good idea," said Liz.

" Thank you," said the girls at the same time. They continued to talk until it was time to get back to training, before they all left James said,

" We have something to tell you."

" Who's we?" Richard asked.

" Me and Liz," said James," We are going to get married." The girl eyes light up and they said,

" Congratulation." Richard smiled hiding how he truly felt and said,

" Congratulation."

" Thank you," said James. Liz could tell though that he was sad. Nicholas told up and quietly said,

" Congratulation." Then he left. Once he was out of site he pulled a ring out of his pocket and said,

" I was too late." Then headed off to start training more men. James and Liz started to leave when Liz said to James,

" I will caught up with you. I forgot to do something."

" Okay," James said. Liz went to keep up with Richard who had just left. When she caught up with him she asked,

" What is wrong?"

" Nothing," said Richard turning to her.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

" I don't think so. I've seen that sad expression before." Liz said.

" Okay, do you really want to know?" Richard asked knowing the answer.

" Yes," said Liz.

" Okay, after the war was over if I lived through it I was going to ask you to marry me," Richard said pulling out a ring," And if I didn't know better Nicholas was probably going to do the same thing as well, but you said yes to James so I must get used to you being a good friend and nothing more."

" I am so sorry. I didn't know," Liz said as she took in all of this. She did like James better out of the three but she did have feeling for Richard and Nicholas. See Richard this upset made her feel bad.

" Don't be. Anyway I have to get back to training my men," said Richard leaving.

" Me too," said Liz turning and walking off.

" By the way Liz, James will take great care of you. I know that," Richard said half smiling.

" I am sure he will," Liz said smiling back to him.

When she reached the archery range James greeted her with a kiss and said,

" There is something on your mind what is it?"

" Well I just found out that Richard and possibly Nicholas were going to ask for my hand in marriage after the war was over and I feel bad," said Liz.

" Are you rethinking our marriage?" James asked.

" No," said Liz," I just feel bad for them. I am still excited about marrying you."

" Okay and I understand. I feel a little bad as well," said James.

" Richard though did say you would take good care of me and I believe him," Liz said smiling.

" I will," James said smiling then kissed Liz forehead.

A few days passed and the day finally came for battle. Nicholas gathered up his swordsmen. Richard and James joined him with their horses while Liz commandeered the archers. The enemy was on their way and it wouldn't be long before they would arrive. Nicholas had sent out a small group of man to scout out the surrounding just incase the enemy would try and come from another direction. Meanwhile on the main front a battle was about to begin. The enemy had arrived and was moving fast. Liz waited until the enemy was in shooting range then told the archers to fire. Man and creature began to fall. A battle had just began.
