OK. Sorry that this isn’t the update people were expecting/wanted, but unfortunately I feel I need to make this update.

To make a long story short: KC is mad again. He was set off by something unrelated to this fic that unfortunately has made him turn his eyes towards all things that are considered MGE Fanworks that don’t fall under his rules.

The main thing is that he has stated he plans to “quietly DMCA” those types of Fanworks, even if they’re made by people who don’t live in Japan. I don’t know what he means by “quietly”, but my best guess is that he’s going to DMCA stuff without giving their creators any warning.

My main proof of this is a link to his twitter feed that was translated. I won’t link it cause I honestly don't want to put it here. However, if you plan to seek it out PLEASE don’t harass him or otherwise. That’s not cool and will probably just make the situation worse.

As for this fic? Well, the reason I’m doing this is because if KC goes through with what he says, then one of these days this fic might disappear from RoyalRoad. I don't know if they'll go to bat for me if they get a DMCA after all. So, if this fic disappears and you wonder why, now you know that it wasn’t because I took it down.

Am I worried? Not by much. I’ve done my due diligence and you can find my fic on other places. With AO3 being the main one as it’s more protected against shit like this. And I have also downloaded/archived this fic up to the new Chapters.

Why am I talking about this here, despite the fact that doing so could make KC mad and get him to DMCA me quicker? Because if he plans to do that, he'll do it regardless of whether I talk about it or not. At least this way you all will know what happened to my fic if this comes to pass.

Don’t worry, I don’t plan to stop writing it. I’m gonna keep at it. But, if it disappears, you now know why.
