That was the first thing Nathan noticed, everything was too small!
The trees barely reached his chest, the mountains that surrounded him where only a bit taller than him, and the “lake” to his right was little more than a puddle to him. So it was easy to say that he was very confused.
“Am i crazy? Did that car kill me or i am just hallucinating?” He questioned himself “Does it even matter? Even if this is an hallucination i am stranded in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere and everything is tiny, i can process all of this craziness once i´m somewhere safe”
He started to actually look around again, but this time taking in more details instead of stopping in the size of everything around him. When he did, he noticed that he was currently standing in a valley surrounded by a mountain by the west, a forest by the north, and a “lake” by the south, while the valley stretched to the east far beyond what he could see.
“Alright, survival skills, barely researched and never put to practice, you are going to carry me now, if you don´t ill be in a lot of trouble” He tried to reassure himself “First things first, lets make an inventory of what i have”

After rummaging through his bag, he was disappointed, he almost never packed anything in his bag besides his laptop and the necessary accessories like the charger, mouse and headphones which were now useless.
Fortunately, he found a screwdriver, for some reason, one serrated table knife and a fork that he used to eat at work, but most importantly he had his bottle of water made of stainless steel and a small red lighter he always kept just in case since it weighed nothing.
With this in mind he came to the conclusion, that he was fucked, he didn´t have any food, barely any clean water, the few tools he had where subpar, half of the things he had where completely useless unless he used the wires as a bad substitute for rope and to make to add salt to the wound, it was already mid-day! He had to do something now, be it set up a camp or start walking with the hope of finding something out there.
“Alright Nathan, calm down, there are a few hours of light left, you can take a moment to clear your head and think clearly” Calming himself with breathing exercises he started to make a plan.
“Lets see, i don´t know where i am, but the sun is going towards the mountains, and if i remember correctly, and whatever this place is follows the same logic, the sun sets to the east, which means that the rest of the valley is the west, that´s something at least” Then he remembered something “Wait! I remember there was one way to point north without a compass, i remember it involved using a stick and shadows!”...”BUT I DON´T REMEMBER HOW TO FUCKING DO IT”
