Chapter-2 progress

Booker’s POV:

“TELL THEM DO NOT FUCKING ADVANCE!” Lieutenant Henderson screamed at the radio phone given to him by Zack. Zack had informed him that the tank and Bradleys were preparing to make a move and that everyone else in the forest line was preparing to advance and lay siege on the small camp. Which almost gave him a stroke when the words “tank” and “siege” entered his ears. “THIS IS JUST A MISCOMMUNICATION WE HAVE THIS UNDER CONTROL!” He says as several women pointed their rifles at him.

“Authority figured spotted, sir.” Zack informed Henderson while pointing at a woman wearing a white uniform laced with gold around the cap and running down her sleeve, talking to the woman in the robes.

Just then the woman in robes seemed to look at them, then back at the woman in white, then looked back at them again, after a few more minutes of the robed woman and the woman in white talking, both of them started walking towards them, the woman in white following behind the robed one.

The soldiers aiming their rifles at them moved and cleared a path for the both of them to make it through towards them like a hot knife through butter, yet the whole time keeping their weapons trained on them.

The robed woman stood in front of all the soldiers with the woman in white right next to her in a parade posture, she looked at the woman in white, said some words then looked back at them, taking a deep breathe she attempted to speak to them, but after a few seconds of them just staring at each other with confused looks on each of their faces, she seemed to get the message as she turned and talked to the woman in white.

“What was that all about?” Jackson questioned out loud causing all the soldiers to take a glance at him.

“I don't know, some shit in Russian I guess.” Zack responded earning him a couple of chuckles from all of them, which caused the soldiers pointing their rifles at them to look at them with curious and weird faces.

But they all stopped chuckling once the robed woman turned at them and tossed something green at them.

Not knowing what she tossed at them, they immediately raised their weapons at them which caused the other soldiers to panic and start screaming at them again, but this time they screamed back.

“WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!” Henderson yelled out as he panicked to grab the object the woman tossed at them.

“DROP YOUR FUCKING GUNS, DROP YOUR FUCKING GUNS YOU DUMB SHITS.” Sam yelled out at them as he raised his m249 at them.

“C'MON, C'MON, SHOOT ME YOU BITCHES!” Zack cried out as he raised his m14 at them, setting it to full auto.

“HIT US, COME ON DO SOMETHING!” Jackson screamed out as he pointed his M16 around at the soldiers.

“LETS GO, COME ON!” The soldier who volunteered to speak German screamed out as he began raising his M16 at the closest woman near him.

Looking back at the robed woman and the woman in white, they both seemed to be caught off guard by their reaction, the robed woman seemed to be trying to communicate through hand gesture as she pointed open palms at them while waving, how ever the woman in white remained at attention standing tall and stoic but her eyes did slightly widen and held her jaw slightly less tighter.

“HOLD DON'T, FUCKEN FIRE, STAND DOWN!” Henderson called out as he stood up with whatever the woman threw at them.

“It's just a fucking glowing rock.” He informs them as he holds out the glowing stone at them, but they keep their fighting stance in case one of them tries something.

Henderson looked at the woman, holding the rock between his fingers as he puts it near the robed woman's face.

The woman guestered by holding her right hand wide open with her palm facing towards them and then placing her index finger in the open palm, then closing it.

Henderson took a second to realize what she wanted him to do but he was skeptical of the situation, because one doesn't hold a glowing rock in their palm without a good reason.

But after a few begging gestures from the woman he finally conceived and placed the rock in his palm. Once he did, the woman’s face immediately filled with joy, then she suddenly closed her eyes and whispered something.

Once she finished whispering, they looked around at each other for a second before a freezing cold passed through them, leaving them with shivers, looking back at the woman in robes she opened her mouth and spoke.

“Hello?” She says in ENGLISH of all things, leaving their jaws hanging wide open. “My apologies for the miscommunication, I was held back at the checkout. I am high mage Franela, might I ask who you are?” She asks while looking at Henderson.

Shaking the shock off him, he quickly thinks of a response, “Uh, my apologies for our previous behaviors, I am Lieutenant Henderson, and these are the men under my command.” He informs them with a stoic face.

Shina's POV:

She watched as the so-called lieutenant listed off the names under his command.

The dark skinned one was named Sam, he was responsible for the LMG, the one in front of him was Zack, the radio operator, the tall blonde one was Johnny, a rifleman, and the one with markings on his right arm was Jackson, another rifleman, and they were all part of the “United States Army” which almost made her jaw drop as no sane man would willingly would join the army, furthermore she learned that they were all volunteers!

Shina continued staring at them as the high mage Franela led them to a huge tent with the empire’s flag on top, while she was staring at them, she seemed to catch one of the men's attention, and he gave her a quick wink before walking into the tent leaving her flustered and turning red.

“Ooo, looks like someone's in love!” Zaphrea says behind her almost making her jump out of her skin.

“Oh come on Zaph, it's been a while since we've seen males, and especially not ones like these.” She says in a soft and dreamy voice as she continues to look at the tent.

“I get ya girl, but personally, I'm more into the real men, but I won't mind trying out these guys.” She says as she too, looks at the tent.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Shina sat in her post looking at the blue sky of this new world, it was pretty normal, very similar to back home which almost gave her home sickness due to the familiarity of the wildness, the smell, the sky. It reminded her of when she was just a little girl when she and her sisters would run around the grass fields all day while their moms were busy plowing and tilling the field.

She stared at the sky for a bit, counting clouds, but then she noticed something from the corner of her eye, something black, at first she thought that it was a wyvern or a dragon which made her tighten her grip around her rifle, but after looking harder, she noticed it didn't had wings flapping and that it was hovering perfectly in place, but before she could tell anyone else, it seemed to turn and hover away in a rapid speed.

Booker's POV:

Walking through the camp, he can see several vehicles parked, most of them looked like 1910s civilian vehicles, but one of them looked like the French’s early WW1 tanks, looking around even more, he could see soldiers periodically stop and stare at them for a bit with a gaze he as never seen before.

“We will be heading to the main tent of the camp, my apologies for the location of this meeting,” she says with a somber tone to her voice before she straightens back up, “ we did not expect people with such importance as you.” She ends with a smile.

Looking around he can see that they were approaching a pretty big tent, it's colors were a mix of greens and browns, pretty similar to camouflage, looking up he can see a flag on top, the main color they used a type of purple, with a lighter purple triangle in the middle with a torch colored yellow in the center.

Entering the tent the first thing he sees was a massive table with several important looking women wearing the white uniform the woman next to Franela was wearing sitting around the table looking at them.

“Gentlemen,” she starts as she looks at them then the women, “ welcome to the heads of operation!” She says with an enthusiastic voice, “ gentlewomen, if you'd be so kind as to introduce yourselves.” She says with a smile at them and they give a nod.

The woman directly across from them was the first to speak, straightening herself while looking at them, “I am Direction Forward Command Officer, Alkia, I am responsible for the operations of the whole camp as well as the main woman to approve those coming in and out of the gateway.” She ends as she looks to the woman to her left with caramel colored skin, “I am Lornia, head of the special exploration of this world, I handle the exploration, research, and possible diplomacy of this world.” She ends with a wide smile while looking at Sam which caught him of guard, the last woman was the tallest out of all the women, coming to eye level with Henderson, and the most noticeable thing about her was her long pointed ears, “I am Ye’sha head technician of the camp, responsible for improving and maintain the vehicles of this camp, as well as insuring the functionality of the gateway with the head mage of course.” they ended as they all looked expectedly to Henderson who just stood her in utter shock.

Henderson looked at Franale for guidance and she guestered to introduce himself to them,” I..uhmm. *Ahem* I am Lieutenant Henderson, commander of the reaction force sent to investigate the recent spike of energy in this area, and to assess the situation.” He ends as he stands at parade attention.

“Ah, where are our manners in front of a man, please take a seat!” Alkia days with a bright smile on her face, “So…you are a lieutenant? I assume you lead a force of conscripted women in the numbers around 20?” She asks with a curious tone as they all take a seat across from them.

“My apologies ma’am, but I lead a platoon of fully volunteer and trained men.” He informs them with a proud smile on his face.

“Men? So you claim that men willingly join the armed forces?” She says in disbelief, staring at all of them.

“Aye ma'am, the huge majority of the armed forces are mainly made up of men in branches.” He says as she continues to stare in disbelief.

She tried to say something before being cut off by Lornia interjecting, “How about we speak of something else, yes?” She says as she tries to ignore the annoyed face of Alkia,” we would like to gain some knowledge and insight about your worlds geopolitical situation.” She says with an excited and upbeat tone.

Henderson looks at his men before leaning in close to the table, “So you might want to get comfortable while I talk, it's a long story.” He says as the women look at each other with confused expressions on their faces.
