*PING*
A loud ping sounds across the monitor, catching the attention of the airman who was just speaking to his subordinates close to him, looking at the terminal, he reads it aloud.
“Woah, what the fuck?” He spatters out with a confused look on his face.
“What is it? Nuclear attack?” One of his subordinates inquires trying to look at his monitor.
“Nope, but it seems to be a random pulse of energy near…the Fulda gap, Germany?” He responds back before reading more of the status.
“Y'know any operations going on there right now?” His subordinate asks as he continues looking.
“Operation or not it's still concerning, better forward this to command.” He says as he types out a report to send to command.

Jackson rode in the back of the bradley trying his best to catch some sleep, looking around, he can see his squad talking, checking equipment, and making sure everything runs smoothly, Lt Henderson seemed to be communicating with someone else on the radio, Huston was checking his m16A3’s under barrel grenade launcher, Juan was reading the bible, Jack was talking to Izack about random things he didn't care about, and Sam fiddled with his m249’s bullets.
A few days ago they were out on deployment to Germany, out on war games to simulate a Soviet advance on the Fulda gap, the recent war games had them all spent, but it seems that some fucking plus of energy near the area cought command’s attention, and now they're in a convoy heading to the located area.
The convoy consisted of one m60a2 nicknamed “starship” by the grunts, two Bradleys, two humvees, and a support truck, all of them equipped with live rounds in case it were the Soviet shenanigans causing it.
##################################
The convoy has been moving for a while, from the FOB, traveling from the city, to several towns, refueled, and now just got out of a small village. The bradley started to shake, and bounce every now and then, he guessed that they were either off road, or they're currently in a shitty road, either way, they had to be getting close to their location, he crossed out the theory of Soviets being behind this because he would've guessed the air recon would probably be shot down and everyone in America, Europe, and the USSR would have already been fried by nuclear hell fire, putting those thoughts aside he started theorizing other possibilities
“Some left over nazi Germany type shit?” He theorized out loud while grabbing his rifle tighter.
“Nah man, it's clearly the French!” Sam says out loud with a goofy expression on his face and the whole APC starts to chuckle a bit.
“Alright…alright, but actually, what could it be?” Huston asks after controlling his chuckling, but he still is giggling a bit.
“Air recon described it as a random gas pocket popping out and being ignited by some unknown sources, but it really would be weird for a gas pocket to be randomly popping up here of all places.” Henderson seems to be finished talking to the person on the radio as he finally relays some information on them.
“I'd rather be killed by the Soviets than to drag my ass all the way here just for it to be a gas pocket” Juan interjects and everyone nods in agreement.
Just then the convoy suddenly came to a sudden stop and being caught off guard they all jerk forward from the momentum, taking a few seconds to compose themselves, they grab their weapons and prepare for the order to dismount.
“Command says the location should be just east from the edge of the forset’s tree line, we should be able to stay hidden and relay information to command” Henderson gives them a second to process the information before continuing,” now I know all of us are loaded with live munitions, but I must make this clear, DO NOT FIRE UNLESS TOLD TO!” He shouts out and he repeats again, “I SAY AGAIN, DO NOT FIRE UNLESS TOLD TO!” he shouts while looking at everyone, “alright, dismount and move out” he says and not a moment later the rear ramp drops and they all file out.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
As soon as Jackson stepped outside, he covered his eyes as they tried to adjust from the brightness outside, a starch difference from the dimness inside the bradley, he could hear the birds chirping, the winds blowing and the tree leaves crunching under his boots, looking around he could see other men from the convoy dismount from their vehicles.
“Damn, this place is one hell of a sight isn't it?” Izack comments as he looks around the forest.
“Damn right it is” Zack responds to Izack as he dismounts from the Bradley’s rear door before Henderson shouts out again.
“Alright listen up, the IFVs, support truck and tanks will stay here until we get back, the humvees will be moving with us to provide support, our duties are to relay info to command to assist them in determining if this is a threat or not, got that? Alright good move out” Lieutenant Huston ends as he starts marching and everyone else falls in behind him.
Looking around Jackson could see other men marching, their boots making a soft crunching sound as they crushed leaves, next to the the humvees admitted a deep rumble as they moved forward with them, looking to the front he could see Henderson leading them forward through the woods, and if he squinted harder, he could see the end of the forest and the start of the Fulda gap already.
After marching for a while the whole platoon comes to a dead stop as they reach the forest’s edge, peeking from his crouched position, he could see something in the distance, a campsite? He thinks to himself as smoke rises through that area, he couldn't really see well that far so he was taking pot shots at it.
Looking next to him, he could see Zack pulling out green bulky binoculars from his alice rig and he gently places them on his eyes,“Holy shit, take a look at this” Zack says as he hands his binoculars to Jackson.
Peering through the binoculars he scans the landscape and his eyes land on…several tents? He could see several tents out in the distant with smoke rising from campfires, he could see figures around them, wearing some sort of green uniform, but their uniforms didn't look like anything he'd ever seen… looking for a bit more, a sudden…well he couldn't describe what it was, the best description was static, but then the static started to expand and it opened wide and to his surprise, vehicles came through, and when the vehicles came through, the area around it acted like water as it whripples, looking at the vehicles he noticed they looked…old as hell something around the 1918s and- before he could see anything else, the binoculars were grabbed out of his hands by Zack, looking next to him he could see Zack holding a radio with the binoculars to his eyes.
“Solid copy command, relaying information, several vehicles, looks like 1910s vehicles, several humanoids wearing unknown uniforms, multiple tents surrounding a clear patch of grass with a flag pole in the middle, bearing an unknown flag, multiple trenches, sharpened wooden barriers with barbed wire attached, gird marks are two dash fou-” Jackson stopped listening as he continued staring at the campsite, so many questions ran through his mind at that moment, yet he couldn't answer a single one.
“Understood sir, proceeding with caution, over” Zack seems to be finished talking with command as he looks towards Henderson, “LT we await your orders, command says to process to the position but with caution and not to fire unless fired upon, Any suggestions?” Zack informs Henderson as he looks out into the distance with his own binoculars.
“Alright, maybe they're just some acting group or some shit, does anyone here speak German?” Henderson asks out loud for everyone to hear.
“I do sir” a soldier a few feet away raises his hand, and Huston nods to him.
“Alright great, You, me , Jackson, Jack, and Sam will take the humvee and move up to their position, Izack you stay put with the rest of the platoon, got that?” He says while slowly looking at everyone, “alright great, let's move” he grabs his m4 and starts moving to one of the humvees as the rest of them start following close behind.
##################################
“Some folks were born, silver spoon in hand” Sam sang out loud as they drove to the camp, suddenly the humvee hit a small bump and those who weren't prepared spat out insults and profanities.
Jackson sat there, quite, the barrel of his M16 pointed down while he used his stock to support his head as he fought off sleep, then suddenly the humvee hit a bump and he took flight for just a second before landing again on his ass fully awake, “aw shit, that's gonna leave a mark.” He says out loud and everyone bursts out laughing at him, and some even made jokes.
“Alright boys get ready, we're nearing their camp.” Huston informs them as the humvee starts slowing down near to a sharpened wooden barrier with some barbed wire attached on it.
But just as they stopped several soldiers ran up close to their vehicles pointing their rifles at them screaming in some unknown language.
Stepping out of the humvee, the soldiers pointing their rifles at them seem to hesitate for a second and their faces soften a bit before they continue to scream what he thinks were orders at him.
But Jackson noticed something, he and the rest of the people in the team were an entire head taller than them, some even two heads taller than them, looking at their form he noticed a distinctly feminine feature on them, wide hips, big breasts and long hair, wait actually…they were women!
And it seems the rest of the squad realized it too, as they were looking around at each other.
“Sir, I don't know if I'm tripping but…I think they're women.” Jackson shouts out to Henderson.
“Women or not, they're pointing weapons at us, and are considered threats.” Henderson shouts back.
Just as they prepare to raise their own weapons at them, a crackling sound reverberates around the area and the same statics from comes into being and opens, and what steps out seems to be a woman in long robes.
