In the large stone brick room cheers and clapping could be heard all around. Everyone one of the red kids, no all of the imps had begun clapping and cheering wildly. Though the reason they were so excited, one could only guess. After all the actions that these brats took were really too nonsensical, irrational, and absurd as if they didn’t give a thought to their actions. Thus this cheers continued on far longer than they really should have, undoubtedly annoying some of those who stood on the stage.
But Satou could care less about all the noise. He was too busy piecing together everything he could to make out what exactly is going on. And maybe if he hadn’t sorted out his feelings, and ascertained that this was not a dream he could’ve sworn it was. After all this situation was to ridiculous to be real, yet he was standing right here of a crowd full of demons, listening to a skeleton make a speech.
Satou sighed, he had an inkling that he was no longer human the moment he saw all the imps back in the forest. But for it to be actually true was without a doubt just a pure headache. But at least there was one piece of good news that came out of all this. He could understand Nevil, and that took a load of problems of his. Because if there’s one thing Satou hate’s to learn more than anything else, it would be a new language.
After waiting some time for the cheers to subside, Nevil continued his speech,”Once again , I congratulate all for being born, or i should say congratulations on being reborn.”
“Huh!?”, Satou was a little bit surprised at what Nevil just said.
“Unfortunately we don't have the time to celebrate, such a wonderful occasion. I know none of you may posses an answer, but with the slight chance that one of you does then i shall ask you all something.”
Nevil raised the cane up in the air and quickly a large amount of glowing white particles gathered to form an symbol inside of a circle.
“Do any of you know what this number signifies?”, Nevil asked
Satou looked at the floating symbol, and recognized it as the roman numeral that signified ten.
“Ten years, ten years is how long all of you have here before you die. You all have ten years, with three hundred sixty-five days in a year, totalling a measly three-thousand six hundred and fifty days till the flimsy shell all of you calls a body with break down and disappear forever along with whatever may be left of your soul. You have until then to make a breakthrough into the next rank, to the Lower Demonic level.”
Nevil paused once more to let it all soak in, but this time only silence filled the room. Despite being no different from kids a few years old, a majority of the imps in the room understood the severity of his words.
Noticing their silence Nevil let out a quiet laugh and continued on,”So some of you may be thinking if time is so precious why all of you just standing here right now? Well fret not, perhaps if you were different race, or a different clan all of you would have been kicked out to train immediately after birth. But not here, not in the Rosen clan! Even if all of you are natural born [Lesser Demons], all of you are the Rosen clan’s ancestral race the [Blood Imp]. Every one of you has potential of reaching the Middle Demonic level!”
Nevil paused, and the imps remain quiet. Some of began to turn their heads looking at each other before coming to a sudden realization. And with that cheers once again erupted from nearly every imp in the room. They may not have completely understood what Nevil was talking about, but they got at least one thing from what he was saying. They will survive, and that’s plenty enough to make them rejoice.
Nevil watched the imps cheer with what seemed like a smile on his face. It’s quite hard to tell since his head it’s a ram skulls, but Nevil was in a good mood. But that good mood of his was slowly growing worse and the cheers went on far longer than before and he was swiftly growing impatient.
Nevil, in attempt to shut up, began his speech in the middle of all the cheers.,”Thus you imps have the chance and privilege of becoming a part of our clan’s elite units! As long as you are able to meet a certain threshold in strength you will be-”
Nevil stopped, it seems his attempt to get them to shut up didn’t work. Annoyed, he loudly shouted ,”Quiet! I would like to ask for all of you to refrain from making noise.”
Nevil wasn't exactly someone with a short fuse, but this outburst of his just shows how evident it was that these imps were just a little too insistent. They just didn’t know when to stop, and that was true even after his warning.

Even after advising the group otherwise there were still some individuals who were still clapping and cheering nonchalantly despite the majority of imps having already stopped. Nevil, displeased, took the cane he was holding up to his mouth and lowered it to the ground. He shifted both his hands to the top of the cane, with one hand holding on to the collar and the other hand lying atop the gem on the handle.
He swiftly used one hand to lift the cane up a few centimeters or so slightly above the ground and then used the other hand on top to quickly push the cane down. The tip of the cane quickly hit the wooden floor floor of the stage and made a small dent in the wooden stage.
And in the instant the tip of Nevil’s cane hit the stage several jagged pieces of stone acted like spears and pierced right through a couple of imps creating a large hole in each one of them. Blood was splashed into the air, from the impact due to the impact of the strike , landing on some of the other imps nearby including Satou who was standing quite close to one of the victims. Blood coated the stone that pierced each of the imps and the slowly the rocks began to retract and begin to vanish into the stone floor leaving only a limp and lifeless little red imp on the floor.
Without the stone to clog up the hole in their chests, their guts and blood began to spill out of their body forming a pool of blood underneath their bodies. Then some of the other imps began to curiously poke the dead imps, and some even went as far as to pick up a part of the dead imps guts or body. Though a majority of them didn’t and just looked at the dead imp’s bodies dumbfounded like Satou who just thought to himself silently.
"Well that just happened....", Satou was shocked. He was shocked not only at Nevil who just killed who knows how many imps, but at the imps who were seemingly unfazed by the whole matter to the point that they would even play with the corpse. But what shocked Satou the most was that he was calm.
Maybe because it just happened that fast, maybe he’s like this because it’s just so surreal, or maybe it because he knows if he was that imp he would be fine. Well fine might be a bit much, but Satou knows he won’t die from it, he can’t die from it. Because if he could die would how could he be immortal?
But was it just it all this? Satou might not have noticed it, but there’s something deep down influencing him. And maybe that’s the reason for his composure.
A few moments later black smoke began to appear from each of the dead imps body as they began to disappear eventually just ending up as smoke , disappearing into nothing leaving behind only the pool of blood which some of the imps also decide to dip their finger in and lick.
Nevil then lifted the cane up to it’s previous position and resumed talking,”Now then since that matter has been taken care of i will continue. Oh, but before that let me warn you, and be grateful that i do. I do not repeat myself more than i deem necessary. If i find that you are useless you will die, if i think you are useless you will die, if i say you are useless you will die, and if you don’t listen to me especially if you don’t listen to me you will die. So I’d like to ask, no i suppose that’s why they didn’t listen before. Well that’s fine, I order all of you be quiet!”
Nevil paused and looked around with his ominous red eyes shining from within the darkness that filled the eye sockets of his ram skull. He smiled and continued from where he left off before he abruptly decided to kill some those imps.
“So as i was saying, if you are able to meet a certain threshold of strength you will be stationed at this castle to be given the best training available to our clan and truly become one of the elites. In order to find out whether or not you will be able to have that privilege we will conduct a few simple tests.”
Nevil turned around and made eye contact with the butler in the back standing by the girl who is seemingly unfazed by his earlier actions. The butler having understood moved forward and stood next to Nevil.
“This is Tristan, he is the head butler and one of the elites of our clan.”, Nevil introduced the butler who for some reason isn’t named Sebastian.
Tristan moved his right hand to his chest and made a slight bow.
Nevil moved his left hand and introduced the big brute,”This is Garius, he too is another one of our clan’s elite.”
Garius who has been silently standing still until now broke into a laugh and got into a pose flexing his big red muscles like some sort of body builder.
“Including myself, us three will be the ones to conduct the tests”, said Nevil as he finished his speech.
