It seems i was left behind….
I was thinking of looking around to see if there was anyone else left when i noticed that it was getting a lot dark rather quickly. And when i looked up, i saw numerous holes expanding turning the blue sky a pitch black. The moon that was slightly visible early despite being day had a number of large chunks taken out of it, and as the seconds went by they grew larger and larger just like the holes in the sky. And the sun was no exception. It was hard to tell with how bright the sun is, but there were a number of holes on the sun slowly eating away at it till it disappeared.
At this point, the streetlight turned on and the only thing illuminating the darkness were the weak fluorescent lights. But amidst all this, i still managed to make out the darkness that was slowly from a expanding from all sides. It was consuming anything it came across leave nothing but a pitch black darkness completely void of anything and everything.
I decided it wasn’t the best idea to remain here in the dark streets so i made my way to a cafe that was a bit too expensive for me and i made took a cup of coffee off of one of the counters, that was still a little lukewarm. I made my way to the second floor of the shop where i was able to get a nice view of the end of the world. Which was quite odd if you think about it.
There is no longer a sky, there’s no sun, and part of the world has already disappeared. But other than being extremely dark, it isn’t the least bit hot or cold. And everything is function perfectly despite the fact that the power lines should be cut by now.
So i sat there in the second floor of a cafe drinking coffee waiting for God’s voice to say that this was just a joke, and that I've not been left here to die. And there i waited making a number of internal monologues and i had a flashback of what happened just a few minutes ago.
But of course nothing happened in that time, and the darkness that was literally erasing the very world around me grew ever closer. Yet, i was not scared. I suppose if faced with a life threatening situation i would be frantic but in normal situations there is still a sliver of hope, a chance of survival. But not here, not here where death is inevitable for everything dead and alive.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
But it’s not like i didn’t have any regrets. There are many things I've yet to do or see. Especially because those bastards didn’t make a sequel to ***********, *********, or ********* yet!
Oh and it seems in the time I was making this little speech to myself, I’ve seemed to have lost a hand.
The right hand that was holding the cup coffee I was drinking disappeared. And unexpectedly, it didn’t hurt at all. It was just sort of missing you know. And as the darkness continued forward consuming more and more of my body, that’s all i could really feel. Not fear, nor pain, but a feeling that something is just simply missing.
So i watched as the darkness consumed me until it reached my head, causing me to lose my eyesight. But before my head was enveloped alongside the rest of my body, i spoke my finals words in this world.
“Well see ya world, it wasn’t really that nice knowing you……”
And with that i was consumed. The man known as Yuki Satou, no longer existed. The cafe i was in disappeared. And the rest of the world, the rest of the Universe turned to darkness.
But in the large expanse of space devoid of anything, and everything. There existed a minuscule flame, a soul, shining dimly in the darkness. It was the soul of the one man left behind, the one man soul forgotten by God. It was the soul of the man formerly known as Yuki Satou.
