As the four of them seated on front of each other in a single table. Qoka continued on telling both Ivan and Evie about Shac’s situation. She told them about what he said that doesn’t make any sense. On the other hand, Shac was left behind pondering about his situation.
I wonder what should be my next step. There’s still a lot of things to consider, and I’m still missing information about what happened in this past. But for now…
He thought and took a glanced at both Evie and Qoka. The two people he couldn’t remember at all. He had no recollection of them, other than the fact they are supposed to be his friends, but he forgot about them because of the curse.
Now that I learned that Evie is here, and that I had a friend which is Qoka, it’s safe to say that I managed to at least properly did the first step.
But I must say, this was surprisingly eas—
…Crap. I’m getting… dizzy…
— THUD! His face fell into the table, creating a loud thud sound. “Augh…”
“!!!” Startled, everyone immediately turned to him. “Shac!!!” Everyone gasped as they watched him collapse.
Not wasting a moment, Qoka and Ivan rushed to his side, while Evie was left frozen.
“Hey Shac!” Ivan called, holding onto Shac. Noticing that he was unresponsive, he held into his body, and lifted him while holding the legs to support him. “Let’s bring him to the nurse’s office.” Ivan said. “Evie grab his things.” he added.
“G-got it!” Evie responded.
“Is he going to be okay?” Qoka asked as they ran.
“I don’t know. For now it’s best to bring him to the school nurse.” Ivan answered.
Now exiting at the back of the building, they sprinted at the door in the front.
“Shac…” Qoka murmured, worried. “I didn’t realize it was this bad.”
They reached the school nurse’s office, knocking violently before pushing the door open. “Everyone here!?” Ivan called out.
“Yes?” the nurse answered, stepping forward.
“Please help my friend!!!” Qoka pleaded.
The nurse’s expression immediately turned serious as she saw the state of Shac. “Bring him to the bed.” she said, pointing at the bed behind the curtain.
Following the nurse’s instruction, Ivan carefully placed Shac down to the bed. They all looked at Shac with a concern expression, unsure of what happened to him.
“You can go now.” the nurse said, turning to the three. “You have a class right?”
“But…” Qoka hesitated.
“No buts. You need to focus on your study. I’ll do the rest, okay?” the nurse reassured.
“…” Qoka remained silent and unmoving.
“Come on now. Let’s go back later.” Ivan said to Qoka, and then turn to Evie. “You too.”
Ivan then dragged both Qoka and Evie out. Before they go out, they all bowed down in gratitude to the nurse before stepping out.
“Shac…” Qoka murmured, her hands were trembling. “He is going to be okay right?” she added.
“What are you talking about?” Ivan sighed. “Stop being extreme. It’s not like he is going to die.”
“Right.” Evie added, still holding onto Shac’s bag. “You’re making me worry about this too.” she said as she tap on Qoka’s shoulder. “Let’s wait for him, okay?”
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Qoka nodded and took a deep breath. “Got it…”
As they stood at the hallway, their eyes are fixed at the door with a worry in their face. Especially Qoka, looking more concerned than usual, which caught Ivan’s attention.
“You know…” Ivan started, looking at Qoka who was silent.
Both Evie and Qoka turned to him. “Hm?”
“Looking at Qoka like this, she looked like a mother worrying about her child.” he said, chuckling.
“Now that I think about it. You might be right.” Evie agreed, and with no warning, she handed the bag to Qoka. “Try holding onto it.” Pushing the bag onto her.
“What?” she blinked and grabbed the bag. “What is it?”
“Ivan said you looked like a mother worrying about her child.” she repeated.
“A mother? Haha…” she chuckled awkwardly, trying to laugh it off.
“Right?” Ivan added, amused at the sight. “This looks better now.”
She continued staring at the bag, silent, and suddenly she hugs it. With her head facing down, it looked like she was curling on the bag itself.
— Oh no. Both Ivan and Evie thought in their mind. They immediately knew that they made a mistake.
“…” Qoka remained quiet, and a tear fell in her eyes.
— SMACK Suddenly, Ivan smacked Evie in the back of her head.
“Aw…” Evie muttered in pain.
“What are you trying to do!!!” Ivan whispered harshly. “You know how soft is she when it comes to Shac right!”
“But you were laughing too!” she retorted, getting back to him. “It’s not like I was the only one who did it!”
“It’s your idea!”
“I know! I just didn’t expect she would cry.” she whispered back to Ivan.
“Then do something about it!”
“Calm down!” she said, frowning at him.
Slowly, Evie approached the crying Qoka who was sitting in the ground, curling and hugging the bag. She placed her hand over to Qoka’s shoulder, hugging her in the process. “I’m sorry Qoka.” she said in a low voice.
“No…” she shook her head, and turned to face Evie. “It’s not your fault. I was just… scared…”
Evie glanced at Ivan, both were wondering why she is scared. “Scared?” she asked.
“Yeah…” she nodded, and took a deep breath. “I feel like he is going to leave me. That’s why I got scared all of a sudden.” she continued, hugging the bag more tightly. “I know that I don’t make any sense.”
“No, I get you.” Qoka patted her back. “Don’t worry, Shac is more stronger than you thought.” she chuckled, trying to lighten up the situation. “Both I and Ivan can assure you that.”
“Yeah. Believe us when we say that Shac is more tougher than he looked like.” he added, and approached Qoka, “If you don’t believe in him, then who would? Besides do you think he will die that easily? That guy refuses to die no matter what happen.”
“What do you mean?” Qoka asked.
Ivan smirked. “He is a person who simply refuses to give up. Whenever we play games, even though he doesn’t stand a chance, he always gets back to his feet.” Ivan explained. “That’s how he usually is.”
“Is he really?” Evie interjected, raising an eyebrow.
“Y-yeah?” he answered hesitantly.
“Why you sounded unsure now.” Qoka said.
“No I’m sure!” he insisted. “I was just thinking. Because even though he sounded weak, he was not weak at all.”
“Okay…” Qoka looked at him, unsure whether to take him seriously. “So what is this game the both of you are playing?” she said, sniffing and wiping her nose. “What type of game is it?”
“Rock Paper and Scissor.”
“Huh!?” Qoka exclaimed. “Are you messing with me again?”
“No I’m not… Pffft—.” Both Ivan and Evie laughed, seeing Qoka’s expression changed dramatically. “It’s true!”
Qoka couldn’t help but glare at both Ivan and Evie for making fun at her again. “Now the both are you messing with me.” she said, annoyed at the two.
“Hahaha…” Ivan stopped laughing. “I just can’t make a straight face when saying good things about Shac.”
“Ah really.” Qoka said nonchalantly.
“Well, he was not lying about that.” Evie added. “But, it was kind of different kind of game. I don’t even know what’s fun about it.” she shrugged.
“A different kind of game?” Qoka asked.
— SWOOSH!!!
In a moment, Ivan stabs his two finger into the air like it was a knife. “That kind of game. You know when you stab someone with a scissor, punch someone with a rock, and slap someone with a paper.”
“That’s not Rock Paper and Scissor, right?” she frowned.
“It is. But the kind of extreme type of Rock Paper and Scissor.” he explained.
Qoka raised an eyebrow. “Did you really play that?”
“Of course.” he shrugged. “We always did it in the past, just having fun about stabbing each other.”
“…” Qoka remained silent.
“Just imagine him losing everytime, and that is the reason why he became a punching bag. But guess what? Even though he always loses, he always comes back to get revenge.” he continued, then grinned. “That’s the kind of person you were worrying about.”
“I… I don’t know whether it’s a good thing or not.” she said, wiping her tears.
“What do you think?” Ivan chuckled. “What I wanted to point is that Shac isn’t that weak than you thought.” he said.
“I-I’m not saying he is weak. I’m just worried.” she explained. “I can’t help it.”
“We know.” he answered and turned his head to the office with a worried expression. “This is the first time I saw him collapsing either. We are all surprised too. But, all we can do now is to wait for him.”
“Yeah.” she nodded. “I guess I was too rash.”
“Then we can ask him after that, right?” Evie said. “All you need to do is to smile at him later. Don’t make him worry about you too.” she said.
Qoka nodded meekly. “I will.”
“But don’t worry. We are talking about Shac after all.” he smiled, reassuring Qoka.
Realizing that Ivan’s word make sense, she let out a small laugh. “Yeah… You’re right… It’s Shac after all.”
As her heart calmed down, they continued waiting at the front of the door, hoping Shac to be fine as soon as possible.
