The year is 2000. Our protagonist, Albert Hillford, was getting ready to attend his first day of high school at the best high school in all of Japan, Interstate Highschool. “Sis! Let’s go!”. His sister was Sistine Hillford, a second-year middle school student. Albert wasn’t really a model student despite his good looks but instead came second to last in his class during his entrance exam. “C’mon, give me a second, I’m a girl you know! I don’t understand why Jasmine wanted to date you!”. Jasmine was Albert’s girlfriend.

Jasmine Gate, who went to the same school as Albert because of him, was waiting patiently at the front gate of the Hillford residence. Jasmine was a short, but sweet maiden. She was first confessed to by our protagonist 3 years ago, then they became a couple a year ago. Jasmine was the exact opposite of Albert, she was good with her studies and was good at sports, she was also very good-looking and had a very lovable personality. However, the one thing she absolutely hated was being called “flat-chested”, legend has it that one boy who insulted her chest nearly had his balls crushed.

The group of three walked together until Sistine had to split up to go to her middle school, which was when Albert kissed her goodbye, then Albert and Jasmine continued towards their school. “I wish you would kiss me the same way you kissed your sister.”, Jasmine was pouting and her face was bright red from blushing. Albert blushed a little and kept walking as if he didn’t hear anything.

After the first day of school, Albert walked Jasmine home and proceeded to go home himself.

“I’m home!”. Albert yelled as his mother walked out of the kitchen, “Welcome home! How was the first day of school?”. Albert explained that nothing much happened at school, and went to his room to get changed. He then turned on his computer and logged into the RPG game that he always played, “Legend of Brothers”.

About an hour later, “Dinner is ready!”, shouted Albert’s mother. Albert then went and ate dinner, and came back to his room to play some more video games.

Albert looked at the clock on his wall, it showed “12:28”. “Oh no! Is it already that late? I should go to bed now.”, Albert thought to himself. Albert switched off his computer and climbed onto his bed. He covered himself with the blanket, and thought to himself, “Today was great, I wonder what will happen tomorrow?”.

However, child, things are only just getting started.

“A…Albert…Wake up!”. Albert woke up. He found himself lying down on grass. Albert quickly stood up and looked around him. “Who is this voice in my head…? And where the heck am I…? I was just sleeping at home…”, but there was no response, only the sound of howling from nearby wolves. “Eh..? What are those?!”, Albert freaked out when he saw the pack of wolf-like creatures. The land in front of him didn’t only stood the wolves, but various creatures who all looked hungry for blood.

When Albert looked to his left, he could see a gang of goblins talking to one another, and to his right was a horned bull that looked very angry. Albert was of course afraid to move around light-heartedly. He tried his best not to alert any of the creatures and tip-toed his way around this piece of flat land. Albert kept going and going, but he didn’t know where he was going nor how long would he have to keep on going. All Albert knew was that he had to get to safety before any of the creatures spots him.

But it was too late.

The Astrian Wolf, known for its amazing sense of smell, had noticed the scent given out by Albert. The wolf first silently followed Albert around, then once it was sure Albert couldn’t do anything to fight back, it pounced onto Albert. Albert, however, got some sort of a warning signal in his head telling him to jump away just moments before the Astrain wolf attacked, and so that’s what he did. Therefore, Albert was able to dodge this attack. Albert didn’t even think twice before he started dashing off in the hopes of escaping from the wolf. But of course, the wolf wasn’t going to give up on its prey so easily. “Oh no. I’m so done for. I always play video games at home, and I’ve always been the slowest runner in my class.”, thought Albert. However, somehow the wolf could just barely keep up with Albert as if Albert was given a pair of super running boots. Albert ran across miles and miles of grass, but there was no sign of him stopping. “This is strange, how am I not feeling tired?”.

The chase continued for a while, until Albert found himself surrounded by rocks, Albert was cornered. “I’m so done for. Please wake up, please wake up…”, Albert knew that if one person dies in his dream he dies in real life…

“BEEP…BEEP…BEEP…!”, the sound of the alarm woke Albert up from his nightmare. “AHHHHHHHHH……..!”, Albert screamed at the top of his lungs. His sister busted into his room and yelled, “What’s wrong brother?!”. “What was that all about? I just had the worst nightmare I’ve ever had!”, said Albert while hugging his sister, “I’m glad I’m still alive!”. “Le…let go of me!”, Sistine struggled to get away from his brother.

After another boring day at school, Albert goes back home and eats his dinner.

“I guess I’ll go to bed early today!”. Then Albert climbed onto his bed and closed his eyes.

Albert woke up at the same place he was cornered into last night. However, the astrian wolf was gone. “What the…? Well I guess I have to find out what this place is sooner or later.”. Albert thought to himself while walking back towards the wilderness. Albert sneaked his way across the open land once again, and continued for a while. There was no way to tell the time, so we will just have to assume it was a very long walk. Some time later, Albert catches a slight glimpse of light in the distance, which at first looked like another creature. However, Albert found out that it was a town full of people. At long last, there was hope for him to stay alive.

Albert entered the town, where the people in it spoke the same language as him. “Its probably because this is MY dream after all.”, he tried to reason out why they spoke the same language as he did. “Hey, kid! I haven’t seen your face around here before! Are you a traveler?”, asked a bearded man in a loud and deep voice. His face was red and he was holding a cup of beer, he was drunk. “A…ah…yes. I just came here today.”, said Albert in a rather quiet voice, “Actually, I was being chased by something like a wolf.”. “Oh, that must be the astrian wolf, it has a great sense of smell. Be careful, those things bite!”, said the bearded man while laughing. Albert didn’t want others to know how he ended up in this situation, so he just stood there laughing. “Well then let’s bring you to the guildhall shall we. That is usually the first place you visit when u arrive here.”. “Thank you!”. “Oh it's no big deal, just remember to treat me to some beer later on!”. The drunk man seemed quite friendly, which was good news to Albert, because from what he could tell there was no winning if he got in a fight with that man.

The world was similar to the RPG game that Albert usually played, so he seemed to know the general idea of what everything in the world was. The guild receptionist welcomed Albert to the guildhall, and explained, “Hi there! I am one of the guild’s receptionists. You can call me Cherry.”, “I’m Albert.”. “As you might or might not know, the world we live in is based on a complicated leveling system. You can fight creatures and gain experience, and soon enough you will be able to unlock skills in order to fight tougher creatures. First off, you will need to fill in some paperwork to become an adventurer. Adventurers will receive money for the monsters they kill, the rarer and stronger the monster, the higher the price we pay you.”. Albert understood immediately, he is dreaming about the exact video game he played on his computer, “The Legend of Brothers”.

Once Albert was done with the paperwork, he was told to hold a piece of weird-looking stone. Once Albert held the stone, it started glowing red. “I see, so you are capable of handling fire magic. The world of magic is divided into five different elements, fire, water, earth, lightning and darkness.”, said Cherry. The receptionist also told Albert that mages are very rare in this world so he was lucky to be able to handle magic.

And with that, all the tests and paperwork were done. The next thing Albert had to do was to choose from 4 different fighting classes, the warrior, the archer, the healer and the mage. “Since I usually play mage, and that Cherry said that mages were quite rare, maybe I’ll be a mage here as well.”. And so Albert became a mage. “Looking good kiddo!”, said the bearded man cheerfully, he was still here. Albert had a blue robe on with gold edges. “Since your element is fire, you will be able to use fire magic.”, Cherry told Albert.

“I wonder what kind of fire magic I can use…?”

Albert didn’t have any money on him, so he decided to sleep on the sofa of the guildhall until the next morning, where he could go out to the wild and hunt for monsters.

The next morning in this crazy RPG world, Albert woke up and went out to explore the wilderness alone. Despite the warnings of many townsmen, Albert was sure his experience in online games would be enough for him to survive a day or two in the wild, but how wrong he was.

Albert kept walking and walking, he was also thinking about whether he was able to cast fire spells. “Fire spells…fire spells…fire…spells. Wait what are my spells?”, Albert started to worry. He didn’t know what his spells were and how to use them. However, things only got worse from that point, because during his freaking out, a slime appeared out of nowhere.

How was Albert going to face an actual enemy?
