The Tale of Rose The Bounty Hunter

The Tale of Rose The Bounty Hunter

The vast and unforgiving landscape of the Wild West is a place where survival often depends on keeping your wits about you and staying alert at all times. Our story follows a skilled bounty hunter, renowned for their horse-riding prowess and their ability to track down even the most elusive targets.

They were growing tired of the same old routine of hunting down petty thieves and recovering stolen goods, so when they spotted a sign pointing north to a place called Shallowater, they decided to venture forth in search of new and more challenging bounties.

As they approach the town, the bounty hunter notices that it appears quiet and peaceful. However, upon reaching the town's bounty board, they notice a torn contract that catches their eye. The contract bears the name of a certain Diego Flores, and the bounty hunter's interest is piqued. Intrigued, they decide to investigate further and make their way to the sheriff's office to inquire about the contract.

After handing over the torn piece of paper, the bounty hunter awaits the sheriff's response with bated breath, eager to learn more about this mysterious Diego Flores and the bounty he has placed on his head. However, the only person in the office is the sheriff's deputy, who admits that they had forgotten to take the contract down and asks for the bounty hunter's name so they can inform the sheriff of someone who is interested in the bounty.

The bounty hunter introduces themselves as Rose and asks the deputy what they know about Diego Flores. The deputy, frozen in place, has never seen a female bounty hunter who looks both intimidating and beautiful. He stammers out that he doesn't know much about Flores but suggests someone in the saloon might have more information.

Rose leaves the sheriff's office and heads for the saloon. As she pushes open the double doors, the lively sound of laughter and music fills her ears. However, a few bandits adjust their hats and look at her with malicious intent.

Approaching the bar, the bartender greets her with a friendly "What can I get ye missy?" but Rose is quick to correct him, furious at the term "missy." She asks the bartender about Diego Flores, but the bartender isn't much help. All he knows is that Flores is the most feared bandit around and that no one has ever caught him.

Rose sees this as evidence of cowardice and insists that Flores is just an ordinary bandit. However, the bartender insists that Flores is anything but ordinary and recounts the time when Flores and his gang of outlaws raided the town and robbed him. He reveals that he was the one who placed the bounty on Flores, but every time he put up a notice, the sheriff would rip it down.

The bartender's story is cut short when some of the bandits take notice of Rose's rifle and demand that she hand it over to them. Not wasting any time, she pulls out her revolver and shoots the four of them dead.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

The sheriff walks into the saloon and orders Rose to leave the town and never come back. But Rose isn't leaving without answers and begins berating the sheriff. She accuses him of being corrupt and only interested in money.

She demands that he tell her where she can find Diego Flores. The sheriff sees how quickly Rose took care of those bandits and realizes that he has lost the respect of the people he is meant to protect. He decides to do the right thing and tells Rose that Flores has a camp east of Shallowater.

Before leaving, Rose takes the sheriff's badge and hands it over to the deputy, declaring that the town needs a real sheriff who cares about the people.

With the information she has gathered, Rose hops on her horse and makes haste for Flores' camp.

The scene was set - a heavily guarded fortress with men patrolling the walls and snipers perched on the roof. The task at hand seemed impossible, but Rose had a plan. She rummaged through her satchel and pulled out three pieces of dynamite, which she quickly placed on a wagon. With all her might, she pushed the wagon towards the camp, catching the attention of the guards. As they approached to inspect the wagon, Rose fired her rifle at the dynamite causing it to detonate with a loud bang.

Snipers rushed to the source of the explosion, but Rose was one step ahead. She picked them off one by one, silencing them with her precise shots. With each sniper eliminated Rose moved closer to the camp, causing more of Diego’s goons to run outside to investigate. Despite their numbers, they were no match for Rose's expertise. She systematically took them down, one after the other.

With the camp now clear of hostiles, Rose began searching each room, trying to find Diego. As she entered a room, she felt a gun barrel pressed against her back. She turned around to find Diego standing behind her.

“So, you came to bring me in, eh? I'm afraid I'm not going down without a fight,” he said, with a sly grin on his face.

Diego holstered his revolver and proposed a classic draw to settle their differences. Rose agreed, and they walked outside to face each other. They stood far apart, with the tension palpable in the air. Before the draw began, Diego took out a pocket watch that played music and announced, “When the chimes end, we shoot.”

As the music played, both Diego and Rose knew that their lives were at stake. With each passing second, the tension and suspense grew, and the volume of the music got louder and louder, as they both waited for the music to end. They had their hands on their holsters, ready to make their move. As the last chime rang out, they both drew their guns and fired.

BANG!

As they stood facing each other, Rose emerged victorious, and Diego fell to the ground. However, before succumbing to his wounds, Diego expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you... You made me feel alive again... Here, take this." He handed over his revolver to Rose, saying, "You have earned this, my friend." Diego passed away soon after.

With the bounty completed, Rose mounted her horse. But before she rode off, she touched her hat as a sign of respect to Diego.

As she rode off into the sunset, the end of her story remained uncertain.
